by Don Johnson on 12/04/2024Wow! What a horrible experience. My daughter's 2010 VW Jetta was experiencing random intermittent stalling. She bought the car from a friend for $1,500 and it was not in the best condition, but it was her first car. She couldn't afford much… better. She takes care of disabled people and has a kind heart, but the service tech and service manager took advantage of that. She had spent several hundred dollars at two local auto shops diagnosing the problem. The final diagnosis they gave was that they had traced it back to the ECM and it needed a new computer. They said only a dealership could replace the computer and program it. The service tech told us they would not accept any other shop’s diagnosis so they charged us $200 to tell us it would cost over $5,000 to fix it without any kind of diagnosis or repair itemization. They obviously didn’t want to work on it. She called and was told that she could pick it up if she wasn’t going to have it fixed there. She asked what time they close, and the tech said 6pm. She called me and asked if I could take her to get it. The dealership is an hour from where we live. I told her I would leave work early and we could get there around 5:30. The service tech called her back on our drive there and left her a message that they closed at 5:30. We didn’t get the message until we got there at 5:35 and the service staff had all gone home. I checked the internet, and two different places said the service bay was open until 6pm but their website said 5:30. Apparently it had changed. While trying to get someone to release the vehicle to us and pay the $200 the sales manager only wanted to sell us a new car, over and over and over, but said he couldn’t help us with the car in service (I could see the keys hanging on the rack easily accessible to anyone). We had to drive home and return the next day to get the car. We got it back and I found a company online that fixes/replaces auto computers. I shipped them the computer and they cloned it for $550. It has been running fine for months with no issues. Why would anybody want to buy a car or service their car from a place that takes advantage of people like this. I was never offered anything, not even an apology, for the miscommunication and will never do business with them again.Absolutely Trash
by Beyond upset customer on 06/23/2021I bought a car from them and thought it would be wise to have it serviced there. Not so. They lied about service, service tome , and the scope of what needed to be done. After getting two different services at a premium they lost two… different hub cap covers and broke the lock cover on the handle. The didn’t mention it and when asked about it they said it was already that way. Are you [non-permissible content removed]No warranty provided on work done
by Brendan on 02/10/2021They provided the worst service I have ever experienced. It stated when my engine blew. It was covered under warranty so I took it to the dealership to get it serviced. Two months later and many rude phone calls later as I was asking for… updates my car was fixed, I got my car back, only for the wiring harness to fall off. Fast forward about 11 months later I take my car for it’s scheduled oil change and a lube tech noticed that my rear main seal is was leaking. So I took it to the dealership to get it fixed. They charge 2000 dollars for the repair. I get my car back and the check engine light is on so I return it to them. Later that day they say they fixed it. I drove my car 6 miles from the dealership before my engine died. I take it back to the mechanics. They inform me that my engine had blown. Then to top it off they threaten me with storage fees so I had to pay to tow my car off they lot 4 days after I paid the 2 grand to fix my car. The warranty for there work expired while they were fixing it so now I’m screwed. Thanks Volkswagen for sucking at fixing your own cars. I wouldn’t trust the mechanics here to change oil on any of my cars, let alone a major repair. I thought almost 200 dollars an hour would get you better mechanical work done.I shouldn't have to pay for a bad inspection.
by Frank on 07/14/2019I have taken my car in three times for overheating, VW did a cooling system flush, and it worked for a while. On my last visit, I was given a $3,000 quote for fixing the car. Lithia Volkswagen quote was for a new water pump, timing… belt, some electrical box that had melted and now the cooling fans weren’t working. I took the car to a friend’s house, he looked at it and told me that there was an air bubble in the cooling system and the wires to the fans need to be changed. I paid Lithia VW to look at my car and give me an honest quote for fixing my car. VW master mechanics have forgotten what basic troubleshooting is. I can’t believe I had to pay over $125 for that. On the customer review it asked if I would like to be called, I replied yes, still waiting for the call.Great!

I was there on a day they do not have the speedy drive in oil change but they did it anyway. They were very pleasant to deal with and helpful to accommodate… my needs. I am not from Reno Nevada so I am not their customer on a regular basis.Great experience

Brought my car in for a freak issue and they were able to take care of it in less than 24 hours and did everything they could to keep the cost down for me. They also… showed me exactly what needed to be done and explained it in a way that made sense to a non-car guy like myself and helped me feel that they weren't just tacking expenses on to make a quick buck. It really meant a lot to me as the repair came at the worst time for me financially, so any little bit helped.
