Customer Service Gone Wrong
by Truth Teller on 03/27/2025I’m a single woman and mother with a 2019 Chevy Traverse. I keep my car in tip top shape because I need it for my work as an RN and for my children. My car started stuttering upon accelerating. This started 1 month ago but I only drove the… car for 2 out of the 4 weeks because I was traveling. The month prior I got new tires and alignment. I took it back to BrakeMasters to make sure it wasn’t my tires or alignment. They wanted to do a diagnostic and thought it was my transmission but I said I would rather take it to the maker as that’s a serious issue. There were no check engine lights on or any lights for the vehicle. I looked on forums and everyone said it’s a common problem with the transmission but to add LuneGuard. I’m not a mechanic so I took it in for a diagnosis the next day. I received a call from Ashley saying the drive team said it was not a drivability problem and think it’s the transmission. It will be 3 months to get me in and she will put me on the books. Under the special warranty they found my muffler has a hole in it. She said she wouldn’t charge me for the warranty diagnostic but I can come pick my car up at 5pm, and we hung up. I called back because that meant she was going to charge me $244 for someone to drive my car again and tell me what they think could be wrong. I told her that is not fair and not acceptable as I didn’t get a true diagnosis. She said let me call you back to see what he wants to charge me. I said ok I’ll be up there to speak to the manager about this. She calls me back and say I had my transmission guy take it for a drive and look at it. He said you need a new transmission it’s slipping in 1-2 gear. When I get there the receipt has the same tech name on it. I didn’t want to fight because I’m already exhausted with poor customer service and life, so I paid and left. I got home research my car to see that a fluid change with added LubeGuard would fix the issue. I went to Las Vegas Chevrolet to get 6 bottles of transmission fluid and autozone for LubeGuard. My neighbor helped me unscrew the bolt to drain the fluid and replace it. Then we unhooked the compressor from its clips to reveal the cap to replace the fluid, added it with the treatment. I held the brake down shifted it through the gears and drove it on the freeway from Craig to Cheyenne. When I got back to Craig the problem was gone. It’s been a week and I have no issue. I know how to change my fluid and know to change it again with another 30,000 miles. I’m sad that they didn’t offer me a fluid change or flush. Just took my $244 to test drive my car. I was due a refund and better customer service. My trust has been broken with Sahara Fairway Chevrolet! Your customers are your best marketers!!Correction: Then we unhooked the computer from its clips to reveal the cap to replace the fluid, added it with the treatment.

Services performed
by Homero 1217 on 06/22/2024I took my vehicle for a oil change, brake & rear differential oil change too. Services were performed as requested however care for my property was not present upon the delivery of my vehicle. Upon inspection did notice stains on my powder… coated wheels, at that time simply thought they would come off upon taking it to wash it but didn’t come off. I reached out to Ashley the service advisor the same day whom promptly responded and made it clear they would make it right that the technician was at fault. After E-Mailing back and forth regarding me not wanting anyone driving my vehicle to or from anywhere especially outside the dealership. Also my vehicle is prone to theft, can’t leave the vehicle without protecting the fob’s frequency from being captured. They went above and beyond to make sure; I would get a vehicle to drive because mine would be a shop for a few days, it takes days to strip the powder coat and a day to powder coat them again. The dealership lend me a loan vehicle free of charge to drive meanwhile mine was at the shop. The brake oil was sprayed/spilled on the wheels all 4, all 4 had to be stripped and powder coated. The process was smooth; I thank Ashley & Virginia for being there assisting me with the issue; I had to which they corrected and didn’t hesitate going above and beyond for me. It was a headache but wasn’t too much of a headache because; Ashley & Virginia dropped off the loan vehicle at the shop and then dropped me off at the shop after; I had dropped off the loan vehicle at the dealership when my vehicle was finished. I am happy with the services and the help with the issue; I had to which was free of charge. The property damage was corrected and it won’t stop me from seeking further services from the dealership. I bought the vehicle there and have been going there since; I bought it back in Feb2017 since then; I have taken it there for oil changes among other services. Apologies for the long narrative Thank you Ashley & Virginia for your patience with meThanks for highlighting some of our staff who helped make this such a great experience! If you ever need anything else from us, please feel free to give us a call or stop by. Have an awesome day!

Bad service experience
by Dustin Smith on 11/09/2018Took our truck in for a oil change, 15k service and to have a noise diagnostic as the left front shock/ ball joint was squeaking. We were asked if we had used any of our 2 free oil changes yet and we hadn’t. This was our first service. We… were called a couple hours after we left the truck with service and were told we weren’t eligible for a free oil change as they were already used and would have to pay $70 for it. We argued that we haven’t been to any Chevy for any oil change and there had to be a mistake. We did buy the truck with 6k miles on it and the service lady said the first owner may have used them both already. We said that couldn’t be the case as there is no need for 2 oil changes in 6k miles. That 2 oil changes should still be available. We were told we had to pay the $70 oil change still! We feel completely cornered as the oil change was already done at that point and we had no choice but to pay it. On top of that they said they fixed the squeaking by lubing everything up really well but that if the problem persists they wouldn’t cover the cost to fix it again. We were also told it is highly recommended to remove the lifter blocks from the back end, as they are very unsafe even though we bought it from this dealership this way! They said if anything were to happen that it wouldn’t be covered! We are completely disappointed that we bought the truck here with a bumper to bumper warranty only to be told no oil changes are covered and that we are driving an unsafe vehicle that was bought in this condition!Thank you for your feedback. We absolutely strive to provide our customers with an efficient and professional service experience, so we are disappointed to hear that yours was not up to par. Please contact us at (702) 948-7865 to discuss your concerns, as your satisfaction is of utmost importance to us.
Worst Auto Service Experience EVER!
by transamadam on 07/26/2007I took my Trans Am to Fairway Chevrolet on March 28 2007 because the transmission was sticking in 4th gear. The service consultant was never available to answer or return my phone calls. He refused to contact Ford Motor Company (whom I… purchased my warranty through when I bought my car used from a Ford dealership) to collect my warranty information. I had to hunt the information down for him before he would begin work on my vehicle. After a month of hemming and hawing my car was finally ready for pickup. Fairway had my vehicle under the wrong name so they thought they had lost it. Eventually found it after 30 min. of idiocy. They had misdiagnosed the problem and the transmission was still sticking. Returned the car 5 minutes after I drove it off the lot. Demanded to see the service manager, but he was not at work. Contacted him that following Monday and relayed to him my story. He refused to assign me a new service consultant when I requested it. He stated that the current one had to clean up his own mess. Finally get some action out of the service consultant after this, but still very poor communication. Now I need a new transmission because they found metal shavings in the trans pan when they opened it up. He swears they weren't there the first time or they would have changed out the transmission the first time. Bologna. They never even opened up the transmission the first time. They just charged me for some bogus part and thought they could just send me on my merry way. Finally my car is ready (for real this time) on May 12th. I picked up the vehicle and requested they run it through the was (since it had been sitting out in the rain and dust for 1.5 months). The guy who runs it through fails to turn off the radio so that the power antenna will retract prior to entering the wash. Car comes out of the wash with its antenna bent at a 90 degree angle. They fix it that day and my car is ready (for really real this time). As I'm getting ready to leave I notice that they failed to put paper down over my fairly expensive custom floor mats, and subsequently got oil all over them. I get ready to complain and have them clean them before I go, but I'm so afraid that they'll somhow blow my car up in the process that I decide to cut my losses and get the heck out of there.
