Dealership Service Review
I’m a single woman and mother with a 2019 Chevy Traverse. I keep my car in tip top shape because I need it for my work as an RN and for my children. My car started stuttering upon accelerating. This started 1 month ago but I only drove the car for 2 out of the 4 weeks because I was traveling. The month prior I got new tires and alignment. I took it back to BrakeMasters to make sure it wasn’t my tires or alignment. They wanted to do a diagnostic and thought it was my transmission but I said I would rather take it to the maker as that’s a serious issue. There were no check engine lights on or any lights for the vehicle. I looked on forums and everyone said it’s a common problem with the transmission but to add LuneGuard. I’m not a mechanic so I took it in for a diagnosis the next day. I received a call from Ashley saying the drive team said it was not a drivability problem and think it’s the transmission. It will be 3 months to get me in and she will put me on the books. Under the special warranty they found my muffler has a hole in it. She said she wouldn’t charge me for the warranty diagnostic but I can come pick my car up at 5pm, and we hung up. I called back because that meant she was going to charge me $244 for someone to drive my car again and tell me what they think could be wrong. I told her that is not fair and not acceptable as I didn’t get a true diagnosis. She said let me call you back to see what he wants to charge me. I said ok I’ll be up there to speak to the manager about this. She calls me back and say I had my transmission guy take it for a drive and look at it. He said you need a new transmission it’s slipping in 1-2 gear. When I get there the receipt has the same tech name on it. I didn’t want to fight because I’m already exhausted with poor customer service and life, so I paid and left. I got home research my car to see that a fluid change with added LubeGuard would fix the issue. I went to Las Vegas Chevrolet to get 6 bottles of transmission fluid and autozone for LubeGuard. My neighbor helped me unscrew the bolt to drain the fluid and replace it. Then we unhooked the compressor from its clips to reveal the cap to replace the fluid, added it with the treatment. I held the brake down shifted it through the gears and drove it on the freeway from Craig to Cheyenne. When I got back to Craig the problem was gone. It’s been a week and I have no issue. I know how to change my fluid and know to change it again with another 30,000 miles. I’m sad that they didn’t offer me a fluid change or flush. Just took my $244 to test drive my car. I was due a refund and better customer service. My trust has been broken with Sahara Fairway Chevrolet! Your customers are your best marketers!!
