  • Hats off

    5 out of 5 starsby Baby G on 04/15/2025

Wow, here we are April 2025 and, I have everything to say about LaFontaine Kia Service Center that will keep me coming back as long as I own my 2015 Kia Soul+. On March 24, 2025 I had an check engine light(124,629miles) and issue that require immediate attention taken to the closet shop and came back as a KNOWN Kia Engine RECALL Class action CODE P1326. According to the Kia America, Inc Extended Warranty(yes, my software upgrade was completed 3/2021) therefore, I had to get my Kia to an authorized Kia service center. I called Lafontaine Kia Dearborn service and I spoke with Ms. Hannah and well, I was told upon my arrival that they would have to perform a diagnostics at a cost of $500+ to be sure if problem indeed is warrantee, 2nd I informed Ms. Hannah I could not be without a vehicle while this service could take a couple copy of days. Not even 10 minutes later I met Mr. Hussein, whom provided the loaner, so I signed on all the dotted lines, and I was out of there within 20 mins. tops. Here is where things get interesting, the next day(March 25th) I was told that my car was out of oil for my engine was "eating" oil and they did not think this was covered under the extended warranty. I panicked and was transferred to, Mr. Harpreet, the LaFontaine service Manager, he stated, "no worries we will work with you, through this". I was then referred to, Kia Customer Care Center for claims & review to see if anything they could do regarding this issue. (I will not get into detail about my absolute DISSATIFACTION WITH KIA America, Inc. Customer Care THAT WILL BE UNDER A SEPARATE REVEIW FOR KIA)However, I will say this, KIA the manufacturer is well aware of this engine problem and what the causes are; which initiated the class action engine lawsuit in the first place (easy to blame problem as a neglect even if not warranted and yet they will bare NO responsibly and put the burden onto the service centers. On, April 10th, I received the final bad news that my car needed a combustion chamber engine cleaning, oil change, and will require recheck after 1k mile to make sure my car engine is maintaining its oil levels without further engine consumptions(this was deemed not to be covered by the extended warranty of Kia engine class settlement and deemed to be a maintenance issue). I completely Panic as now I'm on the hook for everything( and my pocket "$$" book is just on fumes. I spoke with Mr. Harpreet, the service manager and as he promised they indeed did work with me to make my out of pocket cost not as frightening and I agreed to the service and they even covered the Loaner fee as a courtesy(5++ stars) I picked up my Kia Soul on, April 11th. Big Hugs & Shout out to: Mr. Harpreet Signh, LaFontaine Kia service manager, Ms. Hannah Withrow, service Consultant(my hats off to her for totally keeping me calm), and Mr. Hussein, Loaner car manager(just a gentlemen). My hats off to the entire service team you guys are the reason why I will continue to be a customer as long as I own my 2015 Kia Soul +. Thank you guys so much for your hospitality and your 5++ star service.

1 out of 5 starsby CH on 07/29/2022

I brought my leased vehicle in for an oil change about a week ago and inquired with the service manager about a noise I hear sometimes after I stop and pull off again. I was told it sounded like defective calibers on the vehicle and i was given an appt to come back on 7/26/22. When i brought the vehicle back, i was told that the calibers needed to be oiled and 1 rotor had some wear on it because of the drivers side caliber was sticking. I was told he needed to oil the calibers, turn the rotor, and my car should be like new again. The service tech did exactly that then charged me $199.00 and said the car was fixed. I paid the money for the repair however before i could leave the parking lot good the same issue that i paid to have resolved was still broken. I went back in all the service techs said they couldn't hear the problem. I begged the service manager to go for a test ride with me along with the service tech and we all heard the problem. At that point the manager said to me that now the problem is we need to replace all the brand-new brake pads all around the entire car and also replace all the calibers and rotors all with factory parts. He changed his entire theory as to why the car is still making the noise because I don't think he knows what's wrong. Then he said the calibers were rusted and I'm responsible for that! My car has 37k miles and I leased the vehicle like the other two KIAS prior to this car and the reason is because on a leased vehicle the dealer maintains the maintenance. I believe the car has defective calibers. I also believe the manager should have looked into the manufactures warranty to see that the calibers were (are) covered for the duration of my lease. When I leased this vehicle, I purchased a tire and wheel protection and every other protection they offered so I can't understand why I'm dealing with this and I'm not quite 3 years into this lease. This complaint is because I was charged for a service they did not provide, and my car is still undriveable. And when I mentioned this isn't right and requested a refund, I was threatened and told to leave the dealership, or they would call the police. In essence I was told that they're not fixing my car and to get the hell out of the dealership.

  • Stranded for months

1 out of 5 starsby Jennifer on 11/02/2021

They’ve had my car for over 2 months under warranty and I’m left carless. Walking to work in the heat so hot you could throw up or the rain so hard I could get pneumonia…. I’ve asked several times for a loaner car and they keep denying me. My car is under warranty… only a 2015 with 70k miles and I’m left without a car for months . Any other dealership would have given a loaner until repairs are done with no extra fees. Kia won’t even give you info to be able to give you a loaner. Just leave you high & dry for months without a car. I’ve talked to the service Manager AND a service advisor without any help or direction to get help. Thank you for not taking care of your loyal customer of 6 years.. I’ll be trading my Kia IMMEDIATELY for a DIFFERENT brand. I reviewed them on Google & they comment telling me to “call the service manager” leads me to a trash disposal co… This place just takes advance of young woman . We have severe health issues we’ve put on hold. I had to call an ambulance the other day verse just driving up there. Are you going to pay that bill? I’ve had to walk through the SWAT team to get home because there was a gunman on the loose. What if I got shot or robbed or trafficked as a woman? It is now November & hailing out..I’m still walking to work. Or I would lose my job. I even almost had to go to the emergency room because of something that bit me on my way to work walking through sidewalks. I also missed my Bridal shower last month and every time I call for an update I don’t get pleasant responses or I get hung up on. This is all warranty work. Why do I still not have a loaner or some type of compensation for this hell you put me through? Everything I’m missing out out on and if something is seriously going on with my family’s health we have no way of knowing.. how many more doctors appointments do I have to cancel and now they can’t get me in for a few months?

  • Are you kidding???

I brought my car in for a recall inspection. Upon completion, my car was brought to me and I got in and drove home. I turned off the engine and removed the key only to discover that the key fob was stuck open and couldn’t be closed. The next day I returned to LaFontaine Kia in Dearborn to have the key fob fixed only to be told they couldn’t fix it and a new one would cost $270 plus another $135 to program it. $400 for a new key, that’s insane. All I wanted was my key to be in the same condition as when I brought it in. I don’t think I’ll be going back to LaFontaine Kia for any reason in the future.

  • Extremely Dissatisfied Customers

    1 out of 5 starsby M Burnett on 08/16/2021

I had an appointment on 8/10/21 at 10:15am to get my oil changed 8/10/21. My car also had a recall on it. The customer service was very poor unlike I've seen. The tech indicated on my form that the 27 point inspection, oil change and recall was done, when in fact that wasn't true. My drivers side headlight was out when I took the truck in. The 27 point inspection would have notice the headlight out. It solidified why I stopped going to LaFontaine and started giving my business elsewhere. I noticed on my way home that there was no sticker in the window indicating when my next oil change will be. I contacted Adiry and she stated I could come back to get the sticker. I advised her I would bring the truck the next day 8/11/21. I had a gut feeling that the service I needed was not performed. I returned back to LaFontaine Kia 8/11/21 and spoke with the Service Manager Fred. He check my oil via dipstick and it was very dark in color. They pulled my truck in a bay to lift it up. Fred, myself, the trainer and the Tech watched as the oil was being drained and it was true the Tech never changed the oil but put in a new oil filter. Fred the Service Mgr agreed that the oil wasn't changed. I'm very disappointed in the service I received from a well known call dealer.

I heard a knocking noise from my 2013 Kia Optima, contacted Jim, a Manager over Services told him how it was doing he gave me an appointment for the very same day. I took it in and a Service Consultant name Steve Bergstorm wrote up my service compliant said he would have it checked out and I couldn't be pleased and happier as I am now. Thank you for taking care of my favorite vehicle!
