  • Service

5 out of 5 starsby CaraB on 03/06/2018

Angela was very kind and efficient. She went out of her way to anticipate my needs, and her desire to help was genuine. She was able to arrange for expedited service due to inclement weather. I left feeling well taken care of, and have told several people about this positive experience.

  • James Clanton

4 out of 5 starsby Mike on 02/21/2018

James Clanton is very knoligble in the art of selling cars. If there is a way of saving money he knows it. He was very helpful in solving a problem with getting my lease vehicle registered. I recommend looking for James when your ready to buy or lease a vehicle.

  • Great experience!

5 out of 5 starsby Lynn on 01/14/2018

I had an appointment to test drive an Accent, I was very nervous until I met my sales person Obi. He made me feel very comfortable about the process from beginning to end. Obi asked questions to see what I wanted in a car and what I expected for financing and he delivered everything I asked. To be honest I was a little surprised at how quick and smooth the process went. It only took about 2 hours from beginning to end and I am now a proud Elantra owner. Thank you Obi for everything and thank you First Hyundai!

  • Easy, stress free experience

    5 out of 5 starsby Maria_M on 12/04/2017

We drove from CT and glad we did, they were upfront with pricing so we didn't have to waste anytime haggling...the building was clean and plenty of cars in stock.

  • Hook and lure

1 out of 5 starsby Suewasscammed on 12/01/2017

First for life program is a scam. Bought new with dry rotted tires and they were gross enough at the scumbag dealership to replace my tires with tires that had plugs! Do yourself a favor and stay away from this grotesque franchise they will BS you the entire way and you’ll meet some of the rudest people You’ve ever encountered.

  • Profanity laced chewing out my manager

1 out of 5 starsby DarrenThurman on 09/09/2017

I have been looking ay buying a used Santa Fe from First Hyundai for about a week, I went today with my 13 year old son to the dealership and met with John (salesman) to test drive a car I found online that I would like to buy. We drove it and everything was great, we sat down with John to discuss the deal and he went and got his "best price" from the manager, he returned with about $600 in processing fees on top of the advertised price, taxes and tile. I said I was not interested in paying the fees and they would need to be removed if they wanted to sell me a car. Th sales man too the offer to the manager at the raised desk. The manager who I learned is the "boss" proceeded to berate the salesman with a profanity based chewing out that was loud enough for us all to hear it, he was abusive and insulting telling the salesman that "if he brought him any more of the [non-permissible content removed] he would [non-permissible content removed] fire him and told him to tell the customer to go [non-permissible content removed] buy a car from a different dealer he had a tantrum and got up and stormed off outside to have a cigarette. All of this in front of my 13 year old son and so loud that everyone in the office could hear his response. needless to say I will not be buying a car from them and will do everything I can to let people know what a unprofessional and nasty place this is to buy a car. If I could give zero stars I would. I was cussed out for offering $600 less on a car that was $27,000. I felt bad for the salesman who was a great guy. I have service scheduled with this dealer that I will also be cancelling.

  • First for Life Rewards .... Last for Customer Service

    2 out of 5 starsby Libra1007 on 08/19/2017

After reading others reviews of First Hyundai I decided this was a good place to further my car buying research. I found a vehicle that I liked online and went in for the test drive, et al. I was greeted at the door by a salesman. Well, greeted isn't the correct word. He just happened to be standing there waiting for the next sucker, but proceeded to talk on his phone as we walked through the lobby. It wasn't until we got to the other side that leads to the car lot that he deigned to put the phone to his side and give me his name (James). My entire four hour experience was much the same. At no time did I receive his undivided attention. I was left on my own to test drive the car (which I did prefer), but having little knowledge of modern vehicles I could have used some guidance/education. Case in point, I did not know how to use an electronic ignition. He also refused to present any of my offers to his sales manager. James was definitely a salesperson out for himself and buyer be damned. If I wasn't in the predicament I was in, I would have walked away. Unfortunately, I knew I wasn't leaving the dealership without a car because of my circumstances. I found myself stuck between a rock and a hard place. I received more information about the maintenance and warranty from the finance department and more about the vehicle's capability from friends. Despite First Hyundai offering First for Life Rewards there is little on the positive side that I can say.
  • outstanding

I was petrified walking into the dealership. The last time I purchased a car was 15 years ago. (an Elantra that I drove to the ground) Obi made me feel OK about the lease and was so patient! This time I have a Tucson!

It started with me getting a quote from KBB to sell my truck, I received an email from "Molly" saying that the manager asked her to contact me and that they wanted to take a closer look at my truck, So i called the phone number from the email and asked for Molly but the girl i was put through to said Molly was her assistant and she could help me, so i set it up to drive out there so they could take a look at the truck i was selling, when i got there they did their inspection and said they reject the truck because of rust spots... I left after that end of the story for that day... The next day i get another email from "Molly" saying " There is a customer that may be interested in your Vehicle and I wanted to make sure we connect." Signed with a phone number again... So I call the number and asked for Molly once again and the girl i was connected to said Molly is her assistant but she could help me, I figured since "Molly" is emailing me and contacting me i should talk to her.... after i insisted i spoke with Molly she tells me Molly is a computer program!!! At this point i felt lied to, more than once... So a few questions that never got answered... 1. WHY SIGN THE EMAIL AS A PERSON and not state anywhere in the email that its a computer program sending me email and not someone from there named Molly?? 2. When I called in TWICE asking for Molly why was i told Molly is an assistant but i could be helped by the girl who answered the phone? If these people cover up stuff that dont even matter like emails and fake employees named Molly, I hate to see the stuff they hide about the cars they sell.... but based on the other reviews i read here they do hide stuff and cover up truth... I guess i am not important enough to know Molly is not really a person..... What do they say "Just tell them Molly is an assistant, they are dumb customers, they dont know any better" WELL LISTEN UP! AS I SAID ON THE PHONE WITH CHOICE WORDS I FEEL LIED TO! Please take this as a warning of how shady these people are....
  • Great experiencec

5 out of 5 starsby Shashi on 05/12/2017

This was my first experience with First Hyundai. I went there with my wife to look for a pre-owned vehicle. I was apprehensive at first not knowing anyone at the dealer. We were greeted by David Sacco, who made us feel comfortable at the showroom and he showed us around and guided us through the available cars. He pulled out the car I was looking for and he was very informative about the vehicle. He explained every feature and function of the vehicle right from the engine to the exhaust. He was very precise about every intricate detail. We then went for a test drive which was again impressive. He guided us on the highway, around the curvy and the bumpy roads where we can explore the performance of the car. He was outstanding. No slick sales gimmicks, no pressure, no attempts at manipulative ploys. Just great accommodating service. I got a great deal on a new car and I ended up buying a new one and we are very happy about it. The paperwork too was hassle free. He also was very helpful and informative about how to take care of the vehicle and also registered me to the bluelink. Positive vibes and energy throughout, you seldom will find an enthusiastic person who would make your car buying experience pleasant. I must say that this is my first car and it was indeed a best car shopping experience ever. We will be coming to your showroom for the years ahead.
  • Refusal to pay agreed price

  • Professional & Honest - Great Experience!

    5 out of 5 starsby lynb63 on 04/26/2010

After reading many of the poor reviews of First Hyundai they were the next to last dealer we visited after nearly a month of searching for a car. I finally agreed but was very reluctant and had my mind set there was no way we were buying a car that day - after all there were still a few days left before the rebates ended and there was one more dealer I wanted to visit that was closer to work. Ghulam was our sales rep and I almost felt bad as the words we had practiced and agreed on as we drove there came out of my mouth "not buying today, one more dealer to go to...etc." - He smiled and understood yet rather than resort to high pressure sales or move on to another customer assuming he was wasting his time, he was patient, honestly answered all of our questions and provided expert advise when I could not make up my mind between two models. We each bought a car that day and they were more than fair on price and trade-in value. We broke the pact we made on the way and do not regret it at all. We had done our homework, knew our pricing and everyone we came in contact with was wonderful to work with. As I picked up my car this evening I shared the story of my resistance to go there and felt a sense of shame that I let other negative reviews impact me. As we stood outside talking, I knew that First Hyundai and Ghulam had not seen the last of us! Thank you to all.
  • Go Anywhere Else

1.8 out of 5 starsby helloitsme on 12/06/2009

Very disappointing experience. Their ad for a car in Autotrader said $14k. On cars.com the same vehicle is listed at $15K. When we get to the dealership, and they look at a trade, the numbers changed faster than a slot machine. Beware of their pricing tactics, and know your numbers or you will be at a severe disadvantage. Their numbers they throw at you do not agree with anything you can come up with with Kelly or NADA. They rate a car that a reputable dealer rated excellent as only fair to lowball the trade in value, thousands less than the book trade in averages. Then they pull some ridiculous "Kelly" number for their car that is somehow thousands higher than anything you can try to come up with. Kelly had 15.5 as the retail value., they had 19K. When I pull out the magazine ad, it was then they state that the 14K is with a 2,000 trade in allowance, the car price is really 16K. With so many numbers, you might as well use a dart board. A total lack of credibility should make you extremely wary. Oh, and we got a better optioned car, same year and miles, for $14,200 , from a great dealership. Shop around!
  • Bait & Switch Game they play

1 out of 5 starsby shermansip on 12/02/2009

I went to First Hyundai to purchase a Hyundai Elantra. The first time I was quoted a price, decided to leave and shop around. I received a call a few days later to go back into the dealership. The second time I was quoted $795.00 less then the first price, then I was told "no way we can sell you this car and lose $3400.00 on it," once again I left. Well guess what the last day of the month, I received another call from the sales manager (Sam) saying he has great news for me. I made the mistake of returning his call. After haggling all day on the telephone we agreed on a price which was to include the doc fees, registration, title, sales tax. Sam still did not know how much the bank fee would be, "it could be $40, $60, or $70, but do not worry, I'll wait til midnight to close the deal if I have to, I'll have everything written up." I arrived at the dealership feeling emotionally drained and knew what was coming. Needless to say the salesmen did not have everything written up and when I asked about the taxes he looked a bit confused. I did know the figures and decided to get up and leave once again, 3 strikes they're out!!! I am very grateful to everyone that wrote the reviews, Thank You, I just feel sorry you got taken advantage of. To any future customers I say Run away as fast as you can and do not turn back. Happy Holidays
  • worst experience ever

I walked into the dealership knowing my credit wasn't the best and was taken advantage of because of that. I did purchase a car and signed a contract which had many additinal fees. I was even charged one fee they called a bank fee, but once I questioned it they called it an acquisition fee. Please, be careful ...I felt pressured which led me to feel desperate because of my credit history. I am going to go seek legal counsel because they have no right taking advantage of people like this. I read alll these complaints and I ask myself....why are they getting away with all these scams !!!!
  • Sneaky sneaky, watch yourself

    2 out of 5 starsby crissy699 on 06/21/2009

So basically I have to tell everyone to be very careful of everything when you choose to business with this dealership. I never reached the point of purchase, so I cant advise on any of those parts of the sale, but we felt "duped" enough to take the time to write this review. My husband and I went out to look at small SUV's to replace our old wagon and took a ride up Rte 1 in North Attleboro. We decided to pull into First Hyndai to look at the Sante Fe, Tucson and a few other mixed brand used SUV's/crossovers that they had on the lot. We walked the lot and didnt really see much, but noticed the price tag on a Mitsubishi Endeavor, we had never considered this vehicle, but the price tag of $15,900 caught our eye. We explained to the salesman that we wanted to stay under $15k, but figured we would take a look and then when we saw the mileage, we were very interested in the car. The salesman just kept telling us how great the car was, so we were pretty excited, Well, we didnt know ANYTHING about the car, so we said we would go home and research a little then if all looks good, we would come back. When we got home, we looked into the car, were still interested so I pulled up the dealership's website to take a look at the car again before making a plan to go back and see it...well, I see on their website an asterisk next to the price listing that says "Price reflects $3500 cash or trade" !! Well, then that $15,900 price tag was really $19,400..a price we would have NEVER paid, nevermind for a car we werent even considering. I cant beleive the salesman didnt think it important to mention this large price difference! He knew we wouldnt consider it. Why did he waste our time? That was really a shady, sneaky thing to do. They've lost our business for good, even if they had the perfect car for us!
    • Im glad you walked away ! They are real sneaky and unfortunately I didn't walk away !

  • Stay Away!

2 out of 5 starsby estarrio on 02/22/2009

I can't complain too much about the events leading up to the sale. It was a typical negotiation, where the dealer tried to come out on top. The real horror began after the purchase. After a week and a half, they still can't find my registration. I cannot get the car inspected and they refuse to do anything about a front end problem that my mechanic found with the car. You want to hear horrible customer service? Just call their phone number and start asking questions. You will talk to the most unprofessional people you have ever dealt with. I'm escalating my situation through the attorney general's office. I bought I car that I can't drive! Save your money and your family's safety! Stay away!
  • not recommended!

2 out of 5 starsby CARETT on 02/19/2009

My transaction was fine until talk about financing started. The finance manager said he could match the rate I would get from another lender, no problem. When I called the next day with an insurance question I wanted to double check that Hyundai could match the rate. The finance man said actually he could not, but the rate was only slightly higher. When we went to sign the paperwork to purchase the car they raised the finance rate AGAIN, and we refused to accept it. After heated words with the sales manager he finally agreed to take some money off of the car price to compensate for the increased rate. We left thinking all we had ahead of us was inspection, but we got a call the next night saying could we come back (we live a half hour away) because they "forgot" to have us sign some needed paperwork to get the car registered. After expressing our frustration and a few phone calls the salesman came to the house with the papers we had to sign. (the one good customer service thing they did!) He said they would then overnight the registration to us. It took a week and several phone calls to get the registration, so much for overnight! Finally the salesman said if I had the car inspected and sent him the receipt he'd send me a check to cover it. I e-mailed it to him 10 days ago but I have little hope of seeing that reimbursement. Lastly, it appears that they have our loan set up to the incorrect bank account, the icing on the cake of this ridiculous transaction. I do not recommend this dealership to anyone and will not go to them for any kind of service!
  • The worst dealership i have ever dealt with

    1.4 out of 5 starsby dmdwmiller4 on 01/23/2009

I would not even pull my car into this dealership. The sales people are rude, the sales manager is rude and they will not help you out when the sell you an unsafe care that will not pass inspection. Buyer beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • 2008 Santa Fe SE AWD

    4 out of 5 starsby rjr2565 on 10/23/2008

I shopped around quite a bit on the Internet for price quote. Tim Foley was very quick to respond and was also very up front with follow up phone conversations. If you know what you want to pay and stick to your price you will do all right. Most of the sales people seemed cordial and not hard sales. I only had one issue about a trailer hitch installation but we were able to come to an agreement. Overall a pretty good dealership to do business with.

I just bought a new 2008 Hyundai Elantra GLS and received a great deal! I searched all of Rhode Island and all the way out to Fall River trying to get the best price. I shopped online and got an immediate response from there Tim, the Internet Sales Manager at First Hyundai. He was very responsive to every question I had and was able to do so in both a timely manner, but yet very thorough. I have already recommended several people to Tim and the too got the same great service I did. 5 STARS From me!!!
