Above and beyond service
by 3o=L5UT6_sTi on 09/19/2024I woke up to a flat tire. Unsure what to do, I called the dealership and we came up with a plan to get my vehicle to the dealership and the tire replaced same day. David was patient, helpful and very nice to deal with. He communicated with… me about the diagnosis, timing expectations and took care of all of the warranty paperwork. And all in just a few hours, while I was able to work from the waiting area. Excellent service, highly recommend!Best Continued Performance
by Suburban KT on 02/05/2024Hands-down, the best service department I’ve dealt with in New England. I will not take my Chevrolet any other place.Stay Away
by Stephanie B on 02/05/2022Financed a 2015 Chevy Suburban for $37k March 2, 2021. Within a few weeks the Air Conditioner and Condenser failed and had to be replaced. Obviously they covered it. A few weeks later the spark plugs and ignition coils were throwing codes… and all had to be replaced. Colonial wouldn't cover it so we brought it to a local shop for $1200 repair. A few weeks later, engine was throwing codes again. This time brought it to Colonial and they wouldn't cover labor but would cover parts. Another $2000 down the tube. Here we sit less than 11 months of ownership and the vehicle is dead. Brought it to Colonial because the transmission wasn't working. Colonial said they can't fix it. Recommended replacing the transmission for $5400. Going back over the Carfax from when we purchased the car... we realized that Colonial did a bunch of transmission work to the car. Go figure. Now here we are with a $29k outstanding loan, and a vehicle we cannot drive, and a dealership that 'cannot fix or repair' because 'we don't have a transmission guy on staff.' What a wonderful dealership. Needless to say we are not happy, and I made that pretty clear when I went there to pick up keys and have it towed out of there. They offered zero assistance and were of zero help. Absolutely flabbergasted at this horrible customer service. Additionally, when my wife called to ask about our vehicle as it had been sitting there for a few days.... the service guy unloaded in the following order....'sorry our old service manager has been out with covid for 3 months. We lost all of our service technicians recently. Our new service manager's wife died.' This is their level of customer service.... to throw down sob stories on their customers in the hopes that they will just 'go away.' The vehicle we purchased was serviced by this dealership since it had 3000 miles on it. They were proud to tell us that when we were going through the buying process. This gave us some comfort that they new the vehicle and we were in good hands. Obviously we were way wrong. The cocky finance manager raised his voice at my wife for asking him to use her bank for financing... which was a very odd exchange. It should not be legal for a dealership to sell a car two weeks after they did a bunch of transmission work, and not disclose that in the sales conversation. We feel completely blindsided by this unethical dealership. Stay away.Outstanding Body Work
by cathyburg on 06/27/2018I can't say enough wonderful things about Colonial Chevy in Acton. A year ago I had what might be described as a flawless purchase of my vehicle here. More recently I worked with the body shop. My car had some minor paint damage. Jen T. was… easy to work with. She arranged the paint repair, which was completed faster than I ever anticipated it might be, the price was more reasonable than I could have hoped for, and best of all my vehicle looks like nothing ever happened.Cathy, we really appreciate you taking the time to leave a review about your experience at our Auto Body Shop. Our team works hard day in and day out to provide the best results for our customers! I'll be sure to share your feedback with Jen and if you have any questions about the work that was done please feel free to contact me. Sincerely, John Woodland, GM (978) 263-1000

by rgporter1990 on 04/06/2017updated 04/18/2017Very consistent, has been for the last year I've been getting service here. Staff is knowledgeable, flexible, and thorough. I have had 2 parts quality issues, radiator fan going at 55k, and a cracked air intake. Other than that, and of… course the uncomfortable angle of the headrest on the seats. The seats in general aren't comfortable. The dealership was great.Thank you for this 5-star review about your service experience! Our goal is to provide quality customer care, and I am glad to hear that our team has consistently shown you their commitment to this. We appreciate your patronage and we look forward to working with you again on your next visit. Best, John Woodland, GM (978) 263-1000

by silverado29 on 07/31/2016Routine, service on my Silverado, oil changed, tires rotated and they identified and resolved a recall on the spotSales and Service
by jbeasley3 on 04/30/2016Long time customer, just in for recent routine service. The appointment was prompt and I always feel well taken care of. While waiting for my 2015 Malibu to be serviced I was able to talk with Jim in sales who took the time to go over the… new 2016 Malibu. I am seriously thinking about an upgrade now and will be sure to let you know when it is decision making time.Warranty Work on 2014 Volt
by JC_Ayer on 04/09/2016As smooth as could be. I first contacted OnStar for a diagnostic when the 'check engine' light came on in the dashboard. They indicated a service visit would be necessary although the car was still drivable. OnStar called my preferred… service center (Colonial Chevrolet in Acton, MA) and left the call once Colonial was on the line. I was able to make an appointment for the next day which was my preference. Dropped the car off. All work was covered under the 3/36 bumper-to-bumper warranty. Got a call in the afternoon that the car was ready. Picked it up on my way home from work. The battery was fully charged (2014 Volt) and ready to go! The problem was resolved (charge port replaced) and the check engine light was off. This was the first service performed on this vehicle apart from regular maintenance (tire rotation and oil change). Very satisfied.Outstanding!!
by LeahN_8 on 12/25/2015updated 01/12/2016Always great service! I got right in for my appointment the same day I called. Service department is always quick, friendly, and willing to answer any questions. Car was clean and looked like they never worked on it. Worth the 25 mile drive… when I could go right down the street. Always a great experience!General feedback on my service from 12/16/15
by HKruk08 on 12/17/2015updated 01/08/2016Everyone was very nice at this location and helped me out a lot. My service with getting an oil change was fast and my wait was what the gentlemen told me. Prior to my oil change I had to stop at the body shop to get an estimate on some… repairs for my car to fax over to the insurance company and they were very helpful in there as well. I was in and out with the estimate within 15 minutes. I look forward to seeing you guys soon on the repairs for my car. Everyone at the Chevy dealers are great and really make you feel like family. GO CHEVY!Wonderful
by EmmaleeD22 on 12/03/2015updated 12/16/2015Happy I was able to drop my car off the night before. Appreciated the service staff listening to our concerns and issues and finding-fixing the issue in a timely manner while getting my oil changed.Recent service
by Wilmresident on 11/14/2015The service was amazing. They always finish within the time frame I request and I couldn't be happier. I will never go anywhere else for service!Silverado repair
by doctorell on 10/18/2015updated 11/13/2015Everything went smoothly. The AC repair earlier this year was fixed and should work properly ( I wish it was warm enough to actually test it. The labor charges for the manifold repair seemed high. Service reps very friendly.People that care about doing a good job
by Jenn1981 on 10/07/2015updated 11/09/2015Everyone in the service department went above and beyond to be helpful, and you could tell they weren't just doing it because it's their job--they are genuinely kind, competent professionals. I feel like my car (and therefore my family) is… in good hands.oil change review
by Jillmae1 on 08/27/2015updated 10/26/2015I don't remember the man's name, but the service guy I dealt with was so nice! And I really appreciated him making sure we were in and out as quick as possible (since I had 3 kids in tow)Hazel Impala
by 19Retsel34 on 10/22/2015Nice people, good service. My only suggestion is to remove the plastic rug protection mat after parking the car outside for pickup by owner.Warranty work
by Patrick_R on 10/14/2015I had a rim replaced under warranty because the chrome chipped. While there they also had a small spot on my leather seat fixed.Great Service Dept.
by GsProf on 04/09/2015After having a unpleasant 2 week experience at another Chevrolet Dealership attempting to have two safety recalls taken care after scheduling an appointment. My daughter waited over 3 1/2 hrs for the car when the recall notices said it… would take approx an hour for both to be done. When she came home I saw the second recall had not been preformed, Ii called the dealership and was told "We don't know about the second recall, even though we showed them both recall notices sent from G.M. I was told they'll have to call G.M. we can't just replace parts because you said so. I again explained what the recall notice said and faxed the recall notice to them the next day. 2 days later they told me, We spoke to G.M. and understood what needed to be replaced but, "We don't have the part in stock, we'll call you when they are." Four days later on a Friday afternoon a voice mail, the part were in to bring it in Saturday. When i called to make arrangements to bring it in Saturday I was told I had to leave it for a day, we'll try and squeeze it in." The part was a headlight relay that takes less than 15 minute to replace. I frustration I contacted Colonial Chevrolet Service Dept. late Monday afternoon the next day to discuss the recalls. At 8:00 AM the next morning Colonial Service Dept. called me and verified they had the parts for the recall and asked if I could stop in that day. In less time than it took me to walk around the show room once and admire the new 2015 Camaro and Corvette that my kids won't let me buy ;(, the service writer came and told me the car was ready and I was on my way. I didn't even have time to have my Dunkin Donuts coffee I brought for the wait ! Rather than have to inconvenience someone to follow me to drop-off and p/u my car, getting to work etc. This was an extraordinary. The follow up e-mail and phone call from Allison to make sure I was happy with my service call, showed Colonial cares about customer service. Thank you to Steve Carlson and his people in the Service Dept.Always leave with a smile!
by Bostenr on 04/07/2015Every time I visit Colonial, I am treated like family. Not once have I had any issue with personnel or the service received. I'll buy my next vehicle there!
I am sorry you are having and issue with your vehicle now. As any vehicle gets a little older and gets up there in mileage just like your 2015 suburban with 106000 miles on it, the risk gets greater that a repair will be needed and for mechanical breakdown. That is why we highly recommend getting an extended service plan if you would like to be covered beyond the factory and dealer’s limited warranty, whether it be a plan we offer or a plan you get on your own. You purchased your 2015 suburban at Colonial on 2/27/2021 with 88162 miles on it for $29699.00. (I have attached the purchase and sales contract and odometer statement). At that time, you were offered the option to add a service plan which you decided against. At that time, you were also presented and signed a Dealer limited used vehicle warranty (I have attached your signed copy). This form Cleary states the dealer is responsible to cover a repair that that impairs the vehicles safety for a period of 30 days and 1250 miles from sale with a $100 deductible in that time period. That would give you a coverage period until 3/27/2021 or up too 89412 miles, which ever comes first. You brought your vehicle in 90380 miles on it for an inoperable AC. Even though you were out of your limited warranty Colonial paid for the whole repair in full when we did not have too, because we felt it was the right thing to do on a customer service level. Then on 05/03/2021 you brought your vehicle in with 93013miles for another repair, that was clearly out of warranty by time and miles, but Colonial ate a portion of the repair to try to do the right thing for you again customer service wise, even though we did not have too. When you brought your vehicle the other day on 02/03/2022 with 105850miles on it, now a year later after you have put 17688 miles on it and I still charged you $0 to diagnose the vehicle for you as a courtesy and did not charge you. I believe Colonial has been more than fair with you over the last year and I am sorry you do not feel the same. This is the email I sent to you personally I am not sure where the information came from but our service manager has been here for 22 years and I would appreciate it out of respect for my shop foreman's family and children if you will remove it from a public forum as it has no place here.
