by Rziemski on 05/13/2025My 2023 Chevy Silverado Deisel had the service light come on for water in the fuel system. I took it to Auto Nation Chevrolet in Timonium Maryland. The vehicle was running fine and had no problems. The service Manager Jody called me and… said that I should call my insurance company as they diagnosed that my fuel had DEF in it and that it would cost $35,000.00 to repair the vehicle. I went to the dealership and spoke with the shop manager George and the technician Tim they showed me a dark colored liquid that they said was my fuel and then they said they thought it had DEF in it but were not sure. I got on google and did some research and the dark color fuel was most likely contamination for bacterial or something called diesel bug. They still said it was most likely DEF in the system and said I should have the fuel tested (isn't that what they should do when they diagnose the issue)? I asked them about the $35,000.00 repair cost and they said they would have to replace the entire fuel system and injectors and it would take about 60 hours of work as they would have to remove body from the chassis. I immediately ran some quick numbers in my head 60 hours x $200 = $12,000.00. Now the parts would have to cost $23,000.00 and you can replace the motor and fuel system for less than that. I had the vehicle towed to another dealer and they did the repair with a diagnostic for $2,450.00. I contacted Auto Nation and found that they currently do not have a genral manager and then spoke to the sales manager Carmi and he said that he would have the service manager call me and I have never heard back from them. Service is always completed to my satisfaction and I've never returned for service because it was done right… the 1st time as I have had to do with other shops. The purchase price of our new Equinox and staff's attentiveness were great. Exceptional service, pricing and attention was given when I needed collision services. Fair, Friendly & Efficient

I felt like I got a close-to-fair price (face it, at a dealership, i’s never… fair), and the job was completed in a timely fashion. Since my car needed to be there overnight, I was offered a rental car so I could still get things done. Jody regularly updated me on the status of this repair and had an… inspection done as well. Unsatisfied Brake Service
by Mischele on 06/06/2023Back in December 2022 with 84272 miles I had front & rear rotors & pads replaced. In addition replace both rear tires monitor sensor. Returned to dealer with 86308 miles (March 8th) to have brake check due to squealing sound. Dealer… could not detect squealing sound during road test (kept vehicle for two days). Outcome check rear tire hoist and replaced. Returned to dealer with 86720 miles (March 29) check engine light has come on. Also Request brakes be checked again due to continuous squealing sound that has become annoying. Unfortunately for me, the dealer test drove vehicle and could not duplicate squealing sound. It was determined that engine oil pressure failed. Replaced engine oil assembly kit, sensor & gasket kit. Other repairs was required such as heat system with a thermostat. Returned to dealer with 86859 miles (April 4) about the annoying squealing sound and I insisted that someone accompany me on a road test. Supervisor George finally heard and understood that there was a squealing sound coming from brakes. It was diagnosed that left front wheel caused poor brake pads. Solution from George, front disc brake pads replacement and refinish both front brake rotors. To this date, the squealing sounds remains. Returned to dealer with 87714 miles (May 24) complained that the brakes or rotors had to be defective. Once again, the dealer could not duplicate sound; however, service the vehicle by lubicating rear calipers slides and added BG Stop. I made and appointment to return vehicle on June 2, 2023 because sound continued to be a noise factor and was an unpleasant sound when applying the brake. On Thursday June 1st with 87859 miles, I took my vehicle to have an oil change at a reliable mechanic my family have dealt with for many years. To my surprise, it was recommended that the rear sway bar bushing be replaced, rear and front differential service and transfer case drain & refill. I had noticed that after driving 2k miles the oil level was low. For many years, I relied on the dealer to provide top notch customer and mechanical services. Unfortunately, the squealing sound continues and the dealer have not been able to provide a resolution. In the midst of returning to them time after time, they missed or overlooked mechanical issues needed in the coming future.
