Just what I was looking for !
by John L on 04/26/2023Passport Mazda had "THE" 2023 Mazda 3 Hatchback with the bells and whistles I was looking for. From salesperson Tonya Mickey, I felt welcomed. Her knowledge of this high tech 3 with all the safety features was so helpful. So much safety… that the new car insurance rate was MUCH lower than I anticipated. Gen Manager Slavenko Drincic and Finance Manager Carlos Mendez gave me a deal and a good rate from Mazda Finance. Upfront and honest is what to expect at Passport and they deliver. I could not be happier with the new car buying experience.Superior sales experience

My wife and I were looking for a 2021 Mazda CX9 Grand Touring, with black second-row captain seats and Sonic Silver exterior. We contacted Passport Mazda and spoke to Tonya Mickey (Sales… and Leasing Specialist). They did not have that car on their lot. Tonya did not sell us a car; no, Tonya met and exceeded our expectations. Tonya search all the dealers to see if they had our car on their lots. She even Identified one onboard a car ship that was on its way to Baltimore from Japan. Tonya was never pushy; she was patient, she gave good advice; not only did Tonya answer all our questions, but she also kept us updated on any new information. Tonya made my wife, and I feel that our satisfaction was her only reason for coming to work. I may even say that Tonya is the living embodiment of the extraordinary service philosophy that Passport Mazda is known for. Tonya finally found our car; It was just released from US Customs. He was able to provide accurate, easy-to-understand information about vehicles we were considering in a no-pressure environment. Didn't have… to "go back to manager" several times to reach an agreement on price/sales details. Had to wait a bit between agreement and completing the paperwork, but it was a Saturday! Overall, very clean, professional dealership and car buying experience. I would definitely recommend them!Incredible customer service

by M W on 01/22/2020I'll start off with I own a business that services car dealers. We service just over 300 new & used car dealers. I rarely buy a new car. Most of my cars are bought used, usually 2 to 4 yrs old and under 30,000 miles. Because I deal with so… many car dealers I typically buy from 1 of my customers and the transactions take probably only 10-15 minutes. We currently own 9 cars this Miata RF will be our 10th. Recently my wife decided she'd like to get a Miata RF and it had to be either Red or Metallic Grey, Automatic and under 10,000 miles. Searched around for a few months through my sources and came up empty. I could have had 1 of my dealers look for 1 at the auction but decided to not go that route, at least for now. Instead I searched around on line. Eventually I expanded my search to a 1000 mile radius. I would be willing to fly to get the car and drive it back or have it shipped. I've done this a few times with cars bought as far away as Ca. & Fl. I searched Edmunds, Autotrader, Cargurus, Carfax, Individual Dealer Sites, and CL. I found a few cars that fit our criteria & responded on their respective sites. I received responses with in minutes. Before they started their speech I gave them mine. I'm a cash buyer, no financing. If we agree on a price I can wire payment or bring certified check. I'll be titling car in my state therefore I'd be paying sales tax and title fees at time of registration. So, now give me your best out the door final price. I'm not going to waste our time going back and forth, If I like your price I can put a deposit on a CC or wire the $. All of them except Passport said, I'll get back to you. I'd say 90% of them never got back to me. The few that did, came back with ridiculous jacked up prices well above their low ball come on internet prices. But, Mohamed at Passport Mazda (I think he responded to my inquiry within 30 seconds of making it) listened to my pitch and immediately responded with his price. I said, OK-Deal. I'm 200 miles and a 3.5 drive from Passport Mazda. I tell him I probably can't get to him for about a week. Can I put the deposit on a CC or wire the funds to hold the car. He says, not necessary-he'll hold it for me. I then ask how he'd like the payment when I pick the car up. I offer to wire the $ or a certified check. He says, personal check is OK. Now I do this all the time with the dealers I know. But Passport is in Md I'm in NJ and they don't know me from a hole in the wall. I tell him one more time it's no problem for me to pay by wire transfer or certified check and he says again, personal check is OK. A few days later I text him and let him know I can get there on Mon, which happens to be MLK Day and banks are closed. I say again, I can pay with wire or certified check because on MLK Day banks are closed and they won't be able to verify my funds. He says again, personal check is OK. My wife I I arrive at Passport, see our RF sitting out front all shiny. And by the way my wife and I were fully prepared to walk out the door if they did not hold to the price agreed to on the phone. Even if they jacked by only a few $. We walk in & ask for Mohamed. He greets us we talk for a few minutes and he turns us over to a sales person who asks if we want to go over the car and drive it-I respond no don't really need to, he repeats maybe we should, so eventually my wife agrees to walk out take a look at the car and do a little drive around the property. We're ready to finalize things but we need to wait for Paula in finance. The dealer was actually very busy and Paula was working with a customer. They asked us to wait. We waited close to 90 minutes. Normally I would have been pissed off and left. But, I could see they were busy and Paula was still busy. Periodically some of the staff would come over to us and ask if we wanted any refreshments or snacks while we waited. It seemed that they actually respected our time and were appreciative that we were there. We sat down with Paula and wrapped everything up in under 30 minutes. All I can say from start to finish that everyone we encountered (and I forgot everyone's names) was friendly, personable and professional. In the end did I get the cheapest best price out there, maybe I did-maybe I did not. But, did I get the fairest deal and best buying experience from start to finish-ABSOLUTELY-YES I DID. All I can say is other dealers should study Passports business model and emulate it-it will only improve their customer's experience and their business. I would recommend Passport to anyone and it would be worth a 3 hour drive.5 STAR!!!!!!!!

Prior to committing to buying the Mazda CX9 Grand Touring, we visited two other dealerships and the experience was horrible. We visited the Mazda… dealership first, we loved the service and the car, but had to do our due diligence by checking out what the competition had to also offer. Sadly we did not feel welcomed at both dealerships. One dealership was kind enough to take us for a test drive, but when it came down to explaining different options and understanding more about the vehicle and purchase, they had little patients for us. We only asked certain questions due to the detailed breakdown while we were at passport Mazda. The other dealership wanted to run our credit before they would talk to us. We thought that was extremely disrespectful and judgmental of them. So we went back to passport Mazda and purchased the CX9 that week. We are glad we made the purchase, now every time I'm behind the wheel I feel like a kid on Christmas unwrapping a gift. THANK YOU PASSPORT MAZDA!One Great Car Buying Experience

Drove down from Baltimore. Happy I did. State-Of-The-Art facility. Cannot say enough good things about the… sales team at Passport Mazda. They listen to you very carefully--something sadly missing from a lot of sales people. Plan on servicing my lovely Mazda6 at Passport Mazda. I see no reason why I will not have the same great experience with the service team as I did with their sales team.No run around

I told them what was looking for and asked for there out the… door price right there. The manager called me back in 5 minutes. The sales person at Passport Mazda (Aaliyah Dopson) was great. She showed me exactly what I was looking for and did not try to pressure me with other stuff. They honored the price, with no hidden fees. I bought the car the next morning. Passport had by far the largest selection of certified used Mazda’s to choose from. They are extremely competitively. priced so you don’t have to haggle.… The salesman (Kim Lewis) was extremely knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. We drove several before deciding on a silver Grand Touring that was fully loaded. If your in the market for a Mazda new or used I can’t imagine a better dealership to buy from.Top-notch, no pressure experience!

I came in from NY and, after a short time, I was on the road back home with my vehicle. I was a hard sale as I had many bad experienced under my belt and also nickel and dimed them for every bit of savings. I… walked away feeling like I got a great deal from a team of people that were just as invested in me getting a great deal as I was. Carlos in Internet Sales was honest and fair and I never once felt pressured to purchase a car. Paula in finance is like NO OTHER. I was legit afraid to go into the finance department because of all the horror stories I've had at other dealers. She was the complete opposite. She explained everything, without any pressure, and worked expeditiously and efficiently. Lastly, Slavenko the GM, was super patient in explaining to me the OFAC process which I swore up and down meant he was checking my credit =P Even coming back to turn in my title and having Andrew, the sales manager greet me personally and thank me for purchasing. My sales person was Aaliyah and she was a great resource and very knowledgeable on the vehicle I… purchased. It was a no fuss deal - no dickering back and forth. On the return to the dealership from a test drive, I told Aaliyah that I wanted to know the best "out the door" price. After a minute or two, the sales manager presented the price and it was lower that what I had found during my research of this vehicle. I qualified for low interest rate financing and I convinced them to throw in a free oil change. Overall, it was a great experience in a nicely, redesigned showroom facility. A final shout out goes to Rafael, the internet sales manager, with whom I made first contact about the purchase.Fantastic

We found them on USAA's TruCar service and communicated with Kim via email. He quoted us a competitive price from the onset but we received… a better offer. They beat the "out the door price" so we went with them. We started the paperwork via email so that when we arrived at the dealership we were in and out in about 90 minutes. Super easy, great service, definitely buy from Passport Mazda.I will absolutely buy from them again!

I had plenty of time to look for a deal and she gave me an excellent… quote from the start. I shopped around, since I had plenty of time to buy a new car and I wanted to be sure I found a professional, helpful team to handle any future issues I might have with this new purchase. I failed to find anyone as relaxed and confident as Tonya and her co-workers. And this needs to be said with emphasis, Even Though they Didn't Have the car I wanted at the time, I Chose This Dealership to work with (and order my car) based solely on the exceptional professionalism of Tonya and the entire staff. I was contacted by multiple competing dealerships who said they had the car or could get it sooner, but I never found the same level of professionalism across the board as I did with the Suitland team. The general manager, the other sales reps, the finance team, and the owner are all professional and helpful. No drama, just a highly knowledgeable team. Before you buy anywhere else, do yourself a favor--Visit This Team. You'll see what I mean. I buy a lot of cars, and I'm usually glad to put dealers in the rearview mirror. For what it's worth, I enjoyed the entire process. More details of my experience… are below --- Web Referral Was Great!: Almost immediately following my web inquiry, I received an email from Anwar, sales manager asking if I had any questions. He answered my questions concerning stock, and my trade-in - we and set up an appointment. After meeting, he saw that I had worked with Mark Bowers in the past and asked if I would like to work with him - I said of course! (I bought my 2015 CX-5 and he made the purchase a pure pleasure). Mark Bowers is THE guy: Mark is energetic and knowledgeable in all things Mazda. Since I had worked with him in the past the whole sales process was a breeze. I knew what I wanted and what I wanted to pay. After two test drives I knew what model I wanted - Mark made it happen - I never felt he was pressuring me - we moved to the next step, finance. Richard in Finance is Great: Richard provided me with plenty of finance options, offering me competitive rates, not only through Mazda, but other banks and credit unions (who would have thought?!) - while I ultimately decided to go with my credit union for convenience purchases, he was not only meet their rate, but beat it. Richard also let me know about the different warranty options. Like Mark, I never felt pressured. I got a good deal on an extended warranty that covers small bumps/dings - thanks Richard! Cande and Matthew in Service Matthew are Top Notch: Cande and Matthew in service are great. When you go in for service Passport sends you a text - pretty convenient. I had my 5,000 mile service, hitch installed, and other accessories for my CX-9 set-up/installed here. Cande kept me updated on my car's progress and explained everything that was done. Matthew made sure I was happy with the work and did all he could to ensure excellent customer service. Passport Mazda Service is great. Definitely appreciate Cande and Matthew. You won't be disappointed!Good experience
