Car sold out from under me while negotiating
by John on 06/03/2021Buyers beware that this dealership appears to live up to the 'used car salesman' stereotype!! While I had found a perfect used XC60 to buy all cash, I was trying to get all the proper paperwork and answers to my questions since I live out… of the country and could not see/drive the car prior to purchase. However, I sent a relative to meet the salesperson and drive the car and while they were dragging in sending me the certification form and answer my questions on how to purchase, they sold the car to someone else. While I understand business is business, I had expressed my intent to buy but apparently it was easier to sell to another person without even giving me the courtesy or heads up they had someone else interested. Really poor business practice!!Oustanding buying experience!
by DarCarVolvoFan on 12/18/2015Great experience with Marlin (who knew everything and then some about the multitude of vehicles we test drove). Even the purchase process with Alexander Arman was pleasant and painless...just what car buying should be! And the best part,… I love my new XC60! Great vehicle! Quiet, smooth running, very controlled driving...everything I wanted!Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback! We appreciate your kind words and hope you enjoy your new XC60! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Need a reason to go buy another car from Darcars Volvo!!
by ninamaggio on 11/01/2015Last month I had the absolute BEST experience working with Dante (Sales Manager) and Alexander (GM) to purchase a used vehicle at Darcars Volvo. The entire sales team was exceptionally patient as I worked through negotiating a deal that… worked with my budget. I walked away with a great deal on a sweet Jeep that I've been actively trying to find over the last year and finally found on the lot. I can honestly say this dealership treated me with the utmost respect, kindness and understanding and have taken EXCELLENT care of me since the time I walked through the doors on October 17th. I am sooooooo HAPPY with the entire experience working with the team at Darcars Volvo!!!Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback! We appreciate your kind words and look forward to seeing you again soon.
my new xc60 2015
by mariejgon on 10/29/2015I am the proud owner of a new xc60 2015, a beautiful SUV with all the necessary and extras that one could ask for. When I drive long distances, it is a pleasure and I do not feel the road nor am I tried after a long drive. I would highly… recommend the xc60 series or any Volvo you may choose room drive and by the way only buy from Darcars of Rockville, they know their cars, their performance and are kind and courteous staff. I have been with them for over two + years and I will always buy from them. Another very happy Volvo owner Marie gThank you for your kind words, Marie! We appreciate you taking the time to give us your feedback and hope you continue to enjoy your XC60! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Exceptional Experience
by VJKUMA78 on 09/21/2015I saw the car advertised in the web and sent an inquiry. Within hours I was contacted and with in a few hours I was contacted by the dealership. It was a great experience - everyone at the dealership had a smile, were helpful, very… professional, and courteous in in the whole process. The GM - Alexander Arman was understanding to my needs and offered the deal I wanted. The other staff were in tuned to my needs and not was their agenda (to get a sale). Price negotiation experience was the best I have ever gone through. I was in and out in under three hours with a car. I would recommend this dealership to all - my only wish they sold other brands as well.Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback! Enjoy your beautiful new car!
Love My Volvo(s)!
by MST76 on 07/09/2015Well, what can I say? I have been getting cars from this dealership since 2006...so far 7! I can't get enough of the cars (gorgeous, sporty, sleek, elegant, safe - I can go on and on). Latest beauties - XC60 and S60, which are hot! The… guys that work there are friendly, courteous, and make sure I leave there happy. I have worked with Danny a few times and love his sense of humor. When shopping there, ask for him! I still recommend Volvos and this dealership.Thank you for your kind words!
Excellent
by henrik2 on 06/05/2015We recently bought a Volvo XC60 from DARCARS and had a wonderful experience. From the first contact we had when we emailed them about a car we found on their website, to our visit with them at the dealership and even through a follow-up… call after we drove our car home, the entire process was pleasant, easy, and helpful. Alexander the General Manger, Danny at Sales and Mike at Finance are all excellent to deal with and worked with us on getting the car we wanted, securing the best deal and taking care of our trade-in. Our XC60 is in excellent condition and we couldnt be more pleased. DARCARS will definitely be the first place we go when we buy our next automobile.Thank you for your kind words! Enjoy your beautiful new XC60.
Great experience!

DarCars Volvo - Great Experience
by revraymac on 05/11/2015My wife and I had a wonderful experience at DarCars Volvo. There was no hard sell and we were given all the information we needed to make the correct decision for us!Thank you for your kind words! Enjoy your beautiful new car.
No Pressure Dealership
by harriss3 on 04/21/2015I had a very positive experience with DARCARS VOLVO of Rockville. My sales woman Biyun was wonderful, and very accommodating. She came in twice on her day off to allow me to test drive when it was convenient for me. I never felt pressured… by her or anyone at the dealership to make a decision or to buy a certain car. When the dealership learned I was looking for a XC90 in a certain price range, they purchased few extra of these cars for their lot, giving me more choices. I still shopped around online but in the end, I wanted to give DARCARS my money, and I did. I would go out of my way to buy another car with them.Thank you for your kind words! We appreciate your business and look forward to seeing you again soon. Enjoy your beautiful new XC90!
BAD SALES PEOPLE BAD SALES MANAGER <--- SHOULD BE FIRED
by casualguy38 on 12/06/2009this is my 6th car to buy, they ripped me off by $16,730.29 they took my SL500 for $29,450 towards a Audi for $31,000. However, they made me sign a document stating I owed them $14,188.20 after tags, taxes, etc which I was not aware of, but… forged it and somehow copied my signature on it. When I didn't even sign it. You must be careful with these people or else I highly recommend not to buy from them. Although the sales people are not that bad the sales managers and directors are EXTREMELY rude and unfair and I highly recommend not to buy from them or you will regret it as it will mess up your credit instantly especially the guy they have for finance who is [violative content deleted].If they are so bad, why did you buy six cars from them. They must have been doing something right! To be honest, your writings does not reflect well on you. I bought a car from the same people and they were very honest and the same sales manager was the best that I had seen in many years. My husband abd I have bought many cars and believe me we will walk out if they are not polite.
So I was reading yours and the previous persons review (C30girl) and both of you seem to have had your signatures forged,,,,which means FRAUD. If you do some research on this, you will find that Darcars has been sued and lost in court over these things, I remember someone won 25 grand for this...you both should get together and talk with some lawyers to see if you have a joint case and file together. Anyway, anyone needs to stay away from a business who lies and cheats, but then again, look at the type of peope who work there!
I had a very bad experience with them also. It's a shame. I bought a Volvo and Volvos are excellent cars, but these folks are NOT about customer service!
Darcars Employee forged my purchase documents
by c30girl on 07/11/2009I went back to the dealership on 30 June 2009 as instructed by the sales rep, Masoumeh Hameda, to have some items installed on my Volvo C30 (a hard cargo cover w/ rear armrest, paint sealant and an iPod interface). I was given a loaner as… the items would take more than one day to install. While there, I was told by my sales rep that the finance rep, Oya Sezgin, had some paperwork for me. She told me that there was a clerical error on one of my sales documents, the purchase order, so she made the correction in order to expedite the paperwork. I did not grow concerned since I trusted that they were handling things appropriately. She told me that she would need the carbon copy of the first purchase order that I signed and I would receive the corrected version for my record. Since I had the forms on my person, I went back to my car, retrieved the forms and gave her the carbon copy of the purchase order signed on 24 June 2009. In return, Ms. Sezgin gave me a carbon copy of a corrected purchase order. I looked at the form on my way out of the dealership and realized that the initials and signature on the form were forged to resemble my initials and signature. I immediately went back to Ms. Sezgin and asked her to provide me the original versions of the form. She said they were not readily available and she would have to look for them. I asked her for the first purchase order back; she asked that I give her the forged purchase order back in exchange for the version I actually signed. I realized that I would have to obtain both copied of the purchase order to file a proper complaint and have a full investigation lodged against those involved in the forgery. I went back that afternoon and had to "trick" Ms. Sezgin into giving me the forged copy of the purchase order. When she realized I had both copies, she came to the parking lot as I was trying to leave Darcars Volvo and attempted to physically stop me from leaving the premises. She called me a liar and begged me to give her back the forged carbon copy. I told her that the documents were my property and that I wanted to make copies of everything for future reference. She finally let me leave and I went back to my office in McLean to make copies and scan both versions of the purchase order. The next morning (1 July 2009), I contacted Volvo USA and Darcars Automotive Group's Customer Service representative Rose Bayat. Mrs. Bayat assured me that the issue would be handled and investigated internally. I gave her my contact information and sent her an email with both versions of the purchase order attached. I was asked to meet with the general manager of Darcars Volvo, Mina Gharib, to resolve the issue. Over the next two days, Mina Gharib determined that I should get some kind of conciliatory discount as a gesture of goodwill. I was asked to sign a claims release form in order to receive a discount of approximately $2500 on the final sale price of the Volvo. I refused to sign the release considering that I had owned the car for only a week at that point. I also realized that the language of the release would absolve Darcars Volvo of all past, current and future claims regarding this incident and anything else revolving around the business transaction that occurred on 24 June 2009. Mina, the GM that presented me with the release, understood my hesitation about signing the form and called Rose Bayat to conference into the meeting. I told both Rose and Mina that I wanted a refund for the iPod interface that could not be installed because it was already there. I decided to not sign the release. Within the next few days, I exchanged emails with both Mina and Rose regarding the refund (yet to be completed) and the incompletely installed hard cargo cover. I sent Mina and Charles Beck, my Volvo service rep, an email with a link to the Volvo website showing that my cargo cover was supposed to be installed with an armrest. The last time I heard from her regarding the matter was an email sent lSo I was reading yours and the previous persons review (C30girl) and both of you seem to have had your signatures forged,,,,which means FRAUD. wonderful experience buying a car
by mindym on 04/07/2009I just bought a certified used car at Darcars Volvo. It was a great experience. There was no talking behind closed doors, no overturning promises and they got me a better loan deal through my credit union then I could get on my own.Don't Buy From Them if You are Out of Town
by juliek1 on 03/28/2009I will start by saying that this is the 4th car I have purchased in my life so I know the typical run around tactics. My previous two cars, which I purchased from dealerships, were a Mercedes SUV and a BMW, so this is my first Volvo. The… experience has greatly turned me off to buying a Volvo ever again. I purchased a used XC90 from Darcars in early March and I am from out of town, so part of the agreement was that they would ship the car to me within two days (scheduled to arrive on Tuesday 3/24). I took off work that afternoon to be home and sign for the car, and no one showed up. Not only that, I didn't receive any kind of phone call that the transport company was going to be late or anything. I attempted to call the transport company, but there was no answer and no answering machine. Wednesday morning I called them again and one of the owners told me that they had truck trouble and would be in town late Wednesday and could get the car to me on Friday. So, I waited at home on Friday AGAIN for my car...and nothing. Saturday, I called Darcars to see if my vehicle had even been picked up yet and they said that the transport company had picked it up on Friday (4 days late!). Considering that they told me it would be picked up on Monday and it wasn't until Friday; I felt this was VERY inconsiderate on their part and disrespectful of my time that they couldn't even give me a call and let me know it was going to be late (since I had taken off two afternoons from work to be at my house to sign for my car)! Needless to say, it's Saturday and I still don't have my car and have not heard from the transport company, Lanet Enterprises, on an ETA. I definitely would not recommend this dealership to anyone out of town or in town for that matter, their lack of consideration for their customers time if unacceptable to me.Great Experience Buying Car at DarCars Volvo
by ctquaka on 03/08/2009We researched prices on the internet, met the salesman, drove the car and within a few hours were out the door with a great deal on our new car and trade in as well. There was no "garbage negotiating". In fact a previous dealer lowballed… my trade in and after two attempts to get a better deal he said "I would have given you a better price"...right. Darcars Volvo offered me an honest and upfront offer on my trade in right when I walked in the door. Great selection, amazing prices, no pressure sales, helpful staff with integrity. Danny and Kambiz were great!! Great Job Darcars!!!!Horrible
by foztofly on 08/06/2008My girlfriend and I were looking to buy an additional car, one better on gas mileage and still safe and comfortable, so we decided to narrow it down to Mercedes, BMW, Volvo and Audi. After spending some time looking at used cars, we found… a nice 2005 BMW 530i with under 29k miles for a reasonable price at Darcars Volvo. Since she refuses to drive an automatic, this was truly one of the few cars we found that fit our criteria (it is a 6-speed). Initially, the staff was very friendly and although not knowledgeable about BMW, at least they seemed to be willing to help. The Sales Associate (Sam Amin) even gave us his cell phone number to call him if we decided to buy it and he would come in on his day off (he used the line that someone else was coming in to buy it tomorrow from out of town so we had to act quick). When we took it for a test drive, I noticed several marks (some of which are to be expected with a used car) and the fact there was no owners manual in the glovebox. The reason I looked was because he didn't bother to go over the car with us at all and I wanted to look up how something worked. He assured me that day that the marks would be taken care of and that he would get the owners manual for us if we decided to get it. The car itself was wonderful outside of these facts, so talking about it that night, we decided to get it. The next day we went in to pick the car up and this is when the web of lies and talking in circles was exposed. The interest rate for financing wasn't what the Sales Associate told us, so we decided to look past that and just put more cash down on it than initially agreed on doing. When I inspeted the car, I found it was washed, but had not been cleaned (ie. the marks I pointed out to him were still there) so his response was to bring it back at a later date and they would take care of it - again not a deal breaker but definitely arousing my suspicion about him and the dealership. As we are signing the paperwork, the Sales Associate brings his used car manager over and informs us they don't have the owners manual but will promptly order us one and have it shipped to us AND that they only have one key for the car, but that they only cost $90 at a BMW dealership, so he'll knock another $200 off the price for us. I now look at my girlfriend and she says that since this was the best car we had found, just to continue with it. We get in the car (which we absolutely love) and drive it home. Two weeks later and still no manual or phone call, so I call the Sales Associate to check on the status. He says he doesn't remember who I or my girlfriend are, doesn't remember having a used BMW that he sold, but he'll look into the records and talk to the parts department and call me right back. Another 2 days and no call so I called the dealership asking for the GM but get put on with the used car manager - I didn't even ask for the USED or NEW manager so now I am really wondering what is going on at this dealership. Anyway, I tell him about the issues and his response was "when you buy a used car, you get it as is, nothing else. As far as Sam (the Sales Associate), he has had 6 heart attacks and by-pass surgeries so his memory isn't too good anymore." He then said he would look into this, and if indeed we were told about the owners manual beforehand, he would order it for us. This absolutely blew me away, to the point my anger turned to disbelief at what I was just told and became speechless. He just gave me some absurd reason for the lack of memory on his Sales Associate's part, but then said he would find out whether he promised us the manual before signing - but he couldn't even remember the car??? Well, it has now been another 1 1/2 weeks and yup, you guessed it, no phone call or owner's manual. You must be an employee. I've purchased a S80 from them and all they did was lie. What the original poster wrote sounds very much like my dealings with them only I bought a brand new car. I would never go to them for anything. You should be careful at any car dealership but these people should be avoided.
the sales manager is a full of lies, they did the same thing with us to, I had an issue with the plastic capsules at the bottom of seat and they told me they would order them and i would comeback for the installation, after 1,2,3,4 weeks they ordered nothing and did nothing.
We have bought 4 cars from this dealship and always had a great experience.
THe only guy here who has anything nice to say is Kambiz. Wasn't there a guy who worked there named Kambiz? lol HOW do THEY stay in business.
Excellent car buying experience
by DRP11 on 06/01/2014updated 07/24/2025Many years ago I bought a Volvo S60 from this dealership. I was so unhappy with the salesman that I hesitated to return and was strongly considering test driving a new S60 at another Volvo dealer, even though Darcars is extremely convenient… to my home and office. I was even researching and contemplating buying a different car altogether. But I decided to give Darcars Volvo one more try and my car buying experience could not have been more different from last time - or any better! Charles G was my salesman this time. He completely impressed me with his professionalism, helpfulness, and encyclopedic knowledge of Volvo past and present. But he was surpassed by the customer service provided by General Manager Alexander A. Thanks to Mr. A, the entire transaction was truly a pleasure. I did not encounter any high pressure (or other) sales tactics. No game-playing. It was a very straightforward transaction and I think both parties were pleased with the deal. I know I am. I can't believe I'm saying this, but it was the most pleasant car-buying experience I can imagine.Honest people
by kevmurphy on 07/12/2012updated 07/24/2025We bought a used Jeep from a Volvo dealer! Yes, but we went to many dealers and they just did not stop to listen to us. These guys were great and the sales manger just sat and let my wife talk till she was tired. He seemed very honest and I… loved it. We bought the car from him.DARCARS Volvo is the only car dealership for me.
by s80driver on 06/12/2014updated 07/24/2025Over the past nearly 20 yrs, my family and I have bought 8 cars from DARCARS Volvo in Rockville, MD. Without exception, the team there - led by Alexander A - has been friendly, respectful, caring, accommodating and extremely… professional. And, I ALWAYS get the best price in town without any pressure or smoke-and-mirror tactics common in other dealerships. In fact, I recently bought a beautiful new S80 and couldn't be happier with the car and my purchasing experience. The price was incredible both on my trade and the new car and they made the purchasing process extremely easy, even pleasant. It's also important to note that the service dept is also first-rate. I am always treated in the same highly processional, friendly and accommodating manner by the service team, as well. I am very pleased to recommend DARCARS Volvo for the positive purchasing experience, the very fair pricing and their people.Excellent service.
by Peter_12034 on 05/19/2014updated 07/24/2025I just purchased a new Volvo from them. The service provided is excellent. I really can't say anything insufficient. I would definitely recommend to other friends.'The' Volvo Dealership
by annemarie19 on 04/30/2014updated 07/24/2025I've bought and leased a few volvos from different dealerships in the area and was always disappointed by the experience. Either the sales force was overly aggressive and even asking if I needed to call or bring my husband by. Funny because… I know more about cars than he does and I always negotiate his car deals as well. I finally found the dealership that I'll come back to! Massy and Armon were honest and sincere - I didn't feel like I needed to take a shower after I left the dealership. They negotiated quickly and with a great price. It seems like they understand they sell cars and it isn't to their advantage to get the last dollar out of the sale. Armon went above and beyond making sure I was satisfied! And he's a nice person -
Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback! We appreciate your kind words and hope you enjoy your new XC60! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
