Great experience
by Ana Chico on 09/27/2023
The entire experience at this dealership was great. The entire staff was professional, attentive, and friendly. We worked with Brian who was the best sailsperson I have ever had at a car dealership. He was so very helpful throughout the… entire process. Never pushy or forceful.
Ubaldo was also very helpful and warm. I never felt that I was being forced into anything.
The young lady in the office was very nice and so apologetic for making us wait.
Our entire experience was great!

Got Rip off with $499.99
by Josue Ortiz on 10/25/2019They ripped me off with $499.99 which after going over the reviews in depth (I should have done it before I when there) is a common practice on this dealer. There are other people with the same issue. My wife and I were looking to buy a… Subaru I spoke with Juan Rodriguez (internet sales ) the price he was offering was very attractive (we had spoken with other dealers) I specifically ask him to be straight with me about the fees because of the bad reputation dealers have for hidden fees and scamming people He assume me that beside taxes, license, title and registration were no hidden fees. Therefore, on Friday 10/11 we drove from Grand Rapids Michigan to Countryside (3 hours). We knew the car we wanted, we drove it, and so we were ready to buy the car, and here is where the issues started, price for the car was $21,850 (which didn’t change) but between all the fees (taxes, title, etc) when up to almost $25,000. We crunch the numbers before we when there, so we knew this number was “wrong”. When we told this to the sales person he when back inside (you know how they go in an out of the office) and he say it was a “mistake” on the sales taxes since we were out of state (same thing the claim if you check other reviews). When finally, they got the number right we proceed to do the financial part, and this is when Michal Podyma took the opportunity to screw us with $499.99. It was late they were about to close so we didn’t took the time to check the math (our big mistake). Next morning we check the math and that’s is when we realized they screw us. We email Michal Podyma with all the paperwork. He recognized the “mistake” and say that He will fixed. After a couple of days, I received a cancelation form BLANK that I suppose to sign (a blank form really?) in order to process my refund which will take 2 months (let that interest accrued how cares right?) Since Michal didn’t give me a viable solution I call the owner Richard Fisher (whom replies on the reviews) and send him all the paperwork since he claims quote “We would never charge someone for an item or service that was not received” WELL YOU DID, and as today I haven’t heard back from him, so by now I think ALL OF THEM ARE IN IT !!! BE AWARE AND CHECK YOUR MATH VERY CAREFULLY We put $8,000 down payment we didn’t take neither need GAP insurance ( since the owner claims “There must have been something associated with the $400 charge on your statement.” In other bad reviews where people was also scammed). I attached my statement, Michal Podyma email, and pictures of other reviews with same issueshorible
by lyons2d on 09/20/2017If could i would give them "0" stars.Long story of me trying to buy new outback with trade in.I have run a way after 2 hours and next door dealer offer me 2k more on my trade in car...enough said..Appraisal Trade-in Price
by concernedbuy1 on 04/15/2015Auto Barn appraised trade in 30% under an appraisal issued 1/2 hour earlier from another dealer. Also 20% under what Edmunds listed as a Dealer trade-in value. Should have informed consumer not interested in trade rather than insult… with low-ball bid. Poor sales tatics still being practiced @ Auto Barn in a world full of internet knowledge. Be prepared and reccomend you car shop other Subaru Dealerships prior to purchasing thru Auto Barn.Edmunds and Eddie made this easy
by dhu1 on 08/05/2014Edmunds.com makes the process very easy. I was able to see the average price paid by others who bought an STI which is what I ended up purchasing. Eddie was very helpful also. Everything was great and I am driving my new STI!Exceptional service

by lmg5 on 06/14/2014I recently made the switch and bought a Subaru. My salesman Paul H. was very accommodating and helped me find a car that suited my needs. Paul was very informative and made it an easy hassle free experience. After I drove it off the lot I… was still treated with the utmost respect as if I was a brand new customer . I will be purchasing my next car from Paul at the Autobarn Subaru of Countryside.Great service

by mannyj1 on 04/23/2014updated 08/31/2025I was looking to buy a new vehicle, and was interested in three car makes. The nissan murano, the subaru outlander, and the buick endeavor. I went to the autobarn first and was facinated by the cross trek. I got an idea as to the price and… went to continental nissan. The salesman there was busy with another customer so me and my wife and son looked around the lot. During almost an hour nobody came to ask if maybe they could help, so we looked around and saw theyre prices were very high, way over our budget. We left and went over to westfield ford, were i had purchased a vehicle before and looked at the ford escape, but the salesman wasnt very clear in explaining everything to us, so we left and came back to the autobarn and took the crosstrek for a test drive. The salesman MARIO N. was extremely courteous, knowledgeable about the vehicle and took the time to answer all our questions. He explained everything to us in an easy to understand method that made us feel like he was genuinely concerned that we understood all about the vehicle and that we were completely informed about every aspect of the vehicle before we started negotiating a price. When we sat down to talk money he didnt pressure us and he was quite honest with us about how much he could lower the price. We came to an agreement and after signing all the papers he still took the time to show us all the controls in the vehicle as they were all new to us because we had never owned a hybrid car before. THANK YOU ,MARIO,THANK YOU AUTOBARN. I WILL RETURN.See Adam S. at Autobarn Subaru
by rprima on 04/30/2014updated 08/31/2025I never had a Subaru before and was not interested in buying one until I heard they were very good in snow. In Chicago the weather was so bad I figured I would look into them. I love my Subaru Legacy and I am glad I went to Autobarn Subaru… to get it. Adam S. was my sales rep and he was very helpful. He told me EVERYTHING I needed to know about the car and was very helpful and patient. You can tell he has a real passion for what he does and everyone at the dealership was also very nice.Very nice people
by bx1962 on 05/06/2014updated 08/31/2025I purchased my new Subaru from Eddie and everything was great. Eddie even used Edmunds.com to show me the trade in value of my old car.See Jay
by george233 on 05/31/2014updated 08/31/2025Jay S. was very knowledgeable and professional in helping me through my car purchase. Go and see Jay at Subaru in Countryside!nice easy relaxed deal
by csch13 on 05/01/2014updated 08/31/2025I went in to look at a new outback for my wife. I was greeted by Paul and he took great care of me from the beginning. We walked the lot and I explained to him exactly what we were looking for. He helped me pick out the perfect vehicle that… suited our needs. The whole process went very smoothly and I was done in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend The Autobarn Subaru and ask for Paul!!!Great sales team!
by sszary87 on 01/30/2013updated 08/31/2025Adam was very knowledgeable about the cars that he was showing me. He was patient and not pushy at all. As a recommendation, I would not look any further then Adam and the Autobarn team when looking for a new or used car. They have a great… selection of cars and the staff is very helpful.great experience!
by Alex_S on 04/30/2014updated 08/31/2025Had a great experience purchasing my first subaru. Jay was very helpful without being pushy. I highly recommend checking out this dealership, and talk to Jay!Great Experience
by PhilD72 on 05/07/2014updated 08/31/2025Our salesman, Mario, was professional in every way. He was very knowledgeable about the vehicle we were interested in and made the whole buying experience a pleasure. Until now, my past buying experiences have always been painful.Poor customer service
by andrewhutton on 12/30/2010updated 08/31/2025This dealership does not sell quality used cars, as in my case, where my 2003 Honda Accord malfunctioned to the tune of $700 30 miles after I drove it off the lot. They did nothing to help me with this problem, and were rude when I did talk… to them and did not return my calls or emails. They do not put the customer first. Do not buy a used car from this dealership, or even a car that isn't that expensive, because they will treat you badly.Great price! Fast sales! Good people!
by rmh007 on 03/28/2012updated 08/31/2025The salesmen did not follow me around or pressure me, which I like. They were there to greet me & answer any questions, they did not pester me like other dealerships. I was at least to 7 other car dealers, these people layed it on the line… about price (sort of like Carmax). The price was very good for a new subaru impreza. I test drove alot of the other cars in 60 mph winds, but, always came back to the 4 wheel drive for road handling, & that's a major discision for me.
About our dealership
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We welcome all types of feedback; good, bad or indifferent. Comments from customers, or potential customers, help us to continually grow and improve as an organization. Since your particular opinions were voiced anonymously, we cannot address them specifically. We would, however, like to address them on a general basis. Pre-owned vehicle values are much like any other commodity, and they do fluctuate. Online appraisal estimators, like Edmunds, use an average price for vehicles sold at auction given a certain combination of mileage, equipment and condition. Because these conditions vary widely, the figures are merely an estimate, and must be verified by a physical inspection conducted by an experienced appraiser. Many dealerships will also artificially inflate the appraisal amount by taking dollars from another part of the overall deal (new car selling price, OEM incentives, finance rate, etc.). The Autobarn always appraises a vehicle at its true value after taking into consideration all the factors that contribute to a vehicles overall condition. Ideally this should have been explained to you when your appraisal was presented, but apparently we fell short in that regard. Because of your comments, we have taken steps to improve the transparency of our appraisal process, and thank you again for your constructive criticisms.
