  • Very Misleading

    On April 5, 2023 I visited the service center to get my Audi A7 serviced, as I am new to the area and I have always taken my car to Audi. I was told, they were able to perform routine servicing on Audis and an appointment was made for the following day. On April 6, 2023, I was told the vehicle was serviced. At this point, I was told EVERYTHING was fine and I was "good to go". On 4/23/2023, I was at a red light and my vehicle cut off. I had it towed to the same Volkswagen, and was told I needed a battery and brakes. At this point I was a little defensive as my car had just been "allegedly serviced". My reply was, "if I need brakes now, then I needed them 2 weeks ago when my car was serviced". I purchased the battery ( to find out later, I did not need to), and exactly 4 days after, my car stopped at another red light and would not restart. My vehicle was towed back to the same Volkswagen. I received a call and was told My car would not start, they tried to jump it, they did not know what was wrong with it, and they did not have the capability to run a diagnostic. At this point, I was even more confused as I had just had my car serviced and was told EVERYTHING was fine! I disconnected the call, as I needed face to face interaction. I arrived at Volkswagen, and was greeted as the lady who drives the Black Audi. I spoke with the employee at the front desk and was informed that they did not know what was wrong with my vehicle, as they were not able to run diagnostic. I was confused and informed him they just serviced my car, and everything was fine. I was told, they do not service Audi's and he did not know why I was told that. This left me feeling violated and confused. Keep in mind as I was there, I saw 2 Audi's pull up to get serviced. After this point, I asked for my keys and had my vehicle towed to another servicing location. where they were easily able to diagnose my vehicle and I was told I needed a starter. After being scammed and having my time wasted I will not be using this shop ever again. Nor will I be recommending them to anyone in the future. I DID NOT NEED A BATTERY. I learned MY CAR WILL TELL ME WHEN A BATTERY IS NEEDED!!!!! 1500 dollars later to fix what VOLKSWAGEN BROKE!

  • My experience with Sales at Autonation Volkswagen of Columbus

    On Saturday January the 7th. I make my way to Autonation Volkswagen of Columbus. I arrive and proceed on through the parking lot. I park and was immediately greeted by salesman Terry Browning. Terry didn't greet me with a salesman attitude. He greeted me like a old friend who known me for years. Which made me feel right at home. Terry asked me what I had in mind which was the Atlas Cross Sport. I test drove it. Then after went in to talk numbers. Those numbers wasn't in my comfort zone. So Terry showed me another Atlas Cross Sport and a Tiguan. Test drove both of them and was happy with the Tiguan. Terry also introduced me to the finance manager David Kelley. David like Terry was like talking to a old friend. David welcomed me as such as a old friend. Terry and David made sure I was taken care of and made sure I was done fairly. Everything was showed and explained to me. I was totally impressed by Terry and David service. I know I have a friend in Terry and David. So when I'm in the market for a vehicle again. I will definitely be paying Terry and David a visit at Autonation Volkswagen of Columbus. My name is Reginald Lamb and I approve this message.

  • Service Manager needs more classes on how to treat people

    I think that Frankie was the absolute WORST "customer" service person I have ever dealt with. He did not want to solve the problem, he wanted to argue about it. He made it seem as though he wanted to tell me what "he" said should've been used in the Bible for all AutoNation locations. He was VERY condescending, big headed, arrogant and useless as an overall person. If this is the way that this service department is going to treat customers, Frankie is going to be without a job before long because people are going to take their business elsewhere.

  • Terrible Experience

    Terrible experience with the GM, Laurin Hanna. I worked with Ben, a salesman on an incoming Golf R and Richard Stodhill, Sales Manager. Ben said they were selling $5k over sticker when I called. I told him I'd think about it. A couple hours later I received a written quote from the Richard, the Sales Manager. Some expensive "packs" were added. I assumed that to be the mark-up rather than $5k. Shortly afterwards, Richard called and apologized. He said to compensate for the hassle he'd reduce the mark-up to $3,000. I said ok and paid a deposit. Today, Richard called at 7 am! I was asleep. He left no message. He called again stating the Ms. Hanna refused to honor the agreement! So unprofessional and disrepectful. What crappy customer service! I told them to keep it. I'm upset and have never been treated like this at any dealership - and I've purchased many new cars over the years. I do NOT recommend AutoNation VW Columbus GA!

    Run. Run far, run fast. I don't even know where to begin on how horrendous my experiences with AutoNation VW of Columbus have been. I have purchased over 160 cars so far in my 45 years of driving. Never have I been subject to worse customer service (on the sales side, mind you, the service side, though the visits excessive, was great). This was the worst car buying experience of my lifetime. In late December 2021, I purchased a very sharp-looking, clean 2017 Tiguan. It was exactly what I wanted. A small SUV with a panoramic sunroof, Apple Car Play, and all-wheel drive. And the price was very reasonable. Within 100 miles - about 2 weeks later (I have a 1 mile commute) I noticed some oil drops on the garage floor, so I took it to the service department. Within an hour I got a call from sales asking me if I'd given any thought to trading it. Really? Then service called and said they found the leak, a seal on a turbo wastegate valve, and they would repair it for only $1600.00. Nay, nay said I. You sold me this as a "Certified" pre-owned with a 4-month warranty. "Well, it's not in the system". So of course the warranty company pushed back on the claim, as the policy for the warranty wasn't activated. After a little over a week and a visit from the insurance adjuster, they were able to put me into the first of 4 loaner cars. 2 days later, that car was sold and they put me in a new Passat. At least they were providing a loaner. When the Tiguan came home, within 24 hours there was not a drip but a puddle of oil on my garage floor. This process was repeated more times than I can say. At least 5 more. In the next several weeks they replaced the turbocharger. The upper and lower timing chain covers and seals. Then they said they had to re-seal the upper half of the motor to the lower half. Leak, leak, leak. I got nowhere trying to get sales to return this "Certified" disaster and even opened a case with corporate. They said they would look into it, and that was about 6 weeks ago. I have heard nothing. They left me no option but to work with sales on their terms, having to trade it in like I just walked in off the street about 300 miles after purchase. Took days to find anything affordable. Most cars on the website were not for retail sale which is how they make inventory look stronger. Wound up having to spend well over $6000 more on a sedan like the one my wife already has. Same make and model. No SUV. And forget about new - that inventory situation is even worse. At one point they had 2 new cars in stock. Just the worst of the worst. You're better off on Craigslist or Gil's or even Drivetime. At every opportunity, they hid behind "policy" as to what prevented them from doing the right thing. Oh, and I'm told they wholesaled the Tiguan. Easier than fixing it I guess.
