Finally Found My Dream Car
Read this before purchasing a certified Lexus from this dealer
by Tools Four on 07/31/2025This dealer is highly predatory, especially with their certified used cars. Here are some pointers to help prevent them from taking advantage of you, especially if they have a certified vehicle you want. -This dealer lists cars as… certified on their website, Autotrader, and Cars.com, when in fact they are not certified. -Make sure the Carfax shows the certification before arriving at the dealer, if not, you'll likely pay this dealer to certify the car for you. -Pay attention to the disclaimer on the bottom of their website's certified listings, "may exclude certification fee of $995." -In reality you'll pay whatever they want to certify the vehicle, likely in excess of the stated $995, and they'll just tack it on to the line item price of the vehicle when they switch from the buyers agreement to their internal sales sheet. -Do NOT buy any extended warranties from them. -In the state of Florida, extended warranty plan prices are regulated by the state. -Lexus of Pembroke Pines quoted me $2988 for a warranty that is state regulated at $2575. When I asked them about this, they refused to sell me a Lexus Extracare extended warranty. HUGE red flag. -Check to see if the tires meet the certification requirement of 6/32" of tread depth. Go to the auto parts store and buy a tread depth gage. They are about $5 and fit in your pocket. Watch a YouTube video on how to use it, it's easy. -Before you talk numbers on a certified car, measure the tread depth of each tire with a tread depth gage. If the tread depth is less than 6/32", let them know that you are aware that the vehicle needs tires to pass the certification inspection. -Get EVERYTHING in writing. If you don't have it in writing with this dealer, whatever you verbally agreed to will disappear. -Anything that the dealer "owes" you, get them to put it on the "we owe" form. -While the entire management team is highly predatory, specifically avoid Darryl, the finance manager. He should not be in a customer facing position. -The salespeople at dealerships usually fill the "good cop" role in the "good cop, bad cop" routine, with management or finance being the "bad cop." But the sales people here don't seem invested in making a sale, and they too often mimic their management team's predatory tactics. So it turns into this constant "bad cop, bad cop" routine, full of projection, gas lighting, and other high pressure and manipulative sales tactics. -When negotiating for the out the door price on a certified car: *Make sure to decline all their dealer added accessories. Useless. Your money is better spent on a Lexus Extracare extended warranty, which can be purchased at another dealer on a certified car. *They may tell you that they have to charge the same dealer fee to everyone, which is true. *You should not have to pay them to certify the vehicle. A certification on a used vehicle is a perk of paying inflated dealer prices, instead of buying off of marketplace for $10k less. *If their advertised or "internet price" is BELOW the LOWER range of KBB, then offer that number, plus the dealer fee, plus the doc fee and taxes. *If you have a trade, it's often better to talk about the price of the vehicle first, then work in the trade. Otherwise you may wind up talking about the out the door number on the first price sheet, which can be confusing and make it harder to negotiate. *If you need frame of reference, go to JM Lexus or another reputable Lexus dealer, and see some numbers from them. *Shop their numbers around at other dealers to see if they'll match Pines' offer. A better dealer experience may be worth more to you than you thought. You also may not want to miss out on a car at another dealer, while Pines wastes your time and changes the deal on you 15 times. ***TRIPLE check all their numbers before you sign anything. They like to play games when switching from the buyer's agreement to their internal sales sheet.***Finally Found My Dream Car

Awesome Purchasing Experience

Very disappointed
by Miguel Figueroa on 04/25/2025This was my first Lexus purchase, and unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. Coming from Cadillac for the past 12 years, I anticipated a higher-level experience. The car itself is very nice and drives well, but the dealership… experience was unpleasant. I didn’t feel treated as a valued customer, perhaps because I paid most of the amount upfront and financed very little. Additionally, items promised at delivery, like cargo mats and wheel locks, were out of stock. I had to continuously call to follow up on these items, which added frustration to the process. Never received the items, I gave up. I didn’t feel recognized as a new customer. The staff lacked genuine warmth or personalized attention. It seemed transactional rather than welcoming. They could’ve made more effort to explain features or check my satisfaction. A follow-up after purchase would also have helped me feel valued. Overall, the customer service didn’t match the quality of the cars.Miguel, I'm sorry to hear that your experience didn't meet expectations. Beware of Deceptive Sales Practices - “Certified Pre-Owned”
by Cheryll Garcia on 04/18/2025PLEASE BEWARE: I purchased a vehicle specifically because it was advertised as L/CERTIFIED BY LEXUS, which includes a 161-point inspection, warranty, and two years of complimentary maintenance. After the sale and now that I’m ready to… schedule my first factory recommended maintenance, I learned the certification was revoked without disclosure simply because I received an “aggressive” discount. How does a car get advertised and certified, assuming it has passed the rigorous Lexus inspection, only for that certification to be revoked? If the car was truly inspected and certified, removing that designation makes no sense unless it was never legitimate to begin with. Wrong and deceptive. Questionable quality products. When I question sales manager Zee Hanif, sales advisor Ricardo, and the CPO specialist, I got defensive responses instead of accountability. They later called to say I got a “good deal” - but how is it a good deal when my car isn’t certified? Which was the whole reason I agreed to the sale. Lexus cars are fantastic, but the Pembroke Pines dealership’s tactics are misleading. If you’re buying an “L/Certified Lexus,” be warned - your certification may disappear without notice.Cheryll, I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the certification issue. A Classic Bait and Switch Maneuver
by Jonathan Doujgh on 03/31/2025The following episode is a classic example of the Bait and Switch sales technique---Dangle an attractive offer in front of a prospective buyer. When the customer expresses an interest in the product, come up with a reason why the it won't… work, and suggest another offer that is more lucrative to the seller. Lexus of Pembroke Pines has an ongoing agreement with the Costco Auto Purchase Program. I had emailed Costco about the agreement and they responded by giving me the names of eight Pembroke/Lexus employees who are experienced with the procedure. I would be able to save several thousand dollars by using the Costco Program. I arrived at the dealership with the full expectation that Pembroke/Lexus would use the Costco Auto Purchase Program. But the upper management at Pembroke/Lexus had other plans. The Finance Manager and the Sales manager steadfastly refused to use the Costco Program, even though Pembroke/Lexus had an established agreement with Costco. We went round and round over the subject. Regardless of how I phrased my request, they refused to even look into the matter. I placed the names of the eight Costco-enabled Pembroke/Lexus employees in front of the Finance Manager. He refused to acknowledge it. (The original salesman wasn't present for this part of the negotiation) The Finance Manager always had the same response---"We do not accept the Costco discount for that automobile." The finance manager left the room to confer with the General Manager. He came back with the same response. I had already paid a $1,000 deposit for this specific automobile. I even specified the VIN number. In addition, I had traveled 134 miles to complete the sale. (My granddaughter was with me, and she would drive my old vehicle back home.) I'm 88 years old and grow weary of such obfuscation. They said no in dozens of different ways. My only alternative was to cancel the entire procedure, possibly lose $1,000 and go home. I was negotiating from a position of weakness. After two hours of haggling, I capitulated. I accepted the financing terms with the Toyota/Lexus financing company. The interest rate was 7 percent, which was high even for the circumstances. My credit score with Experian was extremely high, at 874, out of 900 maximum, and Lexus knew that. I was willing to put down $15,000 and finance the remainder. Pembroke/Lexus gave me a $1,000 "military discount". But the salesman, who was low man on the supervisory totem pole, gave a more honest and naive answer---"It's a discount for financing with Lexus." One hand gives and the other takes away. Technically, I could have chosen one of several finance companies on their acceptable list, but the timing was wrong. It was something that I would have had to arrange in advance. I didn't have the strength to go through the ordeal again. I fervently hope that I will never see Pmbroke/Lexus again.Jonathan, I'm truly sorry to hear about your experience and the frustration it caused. It's concerning that our team didn't honor the Costco Auto Purchase Program as expected, especially after you traveled such a distance with high hopes. Overall good experience

Negotiated total deal and trade by email over about a week without being present or speaking on phone. I think it was a fair deal overall. Drove down from Ocala… to pick up on a Saturday and was out in 2 hours. Car was clean and gassed. I would have liked a little more time to go over the Tech in the car. Smooth buying experience

Found one in Pembroke Lexus with the exact option I need. Francesca sent me a full video of… the car. And offer me a good price. Soni decided to make a trip. When I arrive at the dealership I am greeted by Alejandro and the car is ready for me to do a test drive. I made my purchase on the spot. In and out less than an hour. I am from Central Florida - 3+ hours away and bought my car over the internet by texting, emailing and a couple of phone calls. I did have a lot of concerns about not buying… local but my local Lexus dealers had no interest in considering my offers - they all wanted me to come in and “talk”. When I found the car I wanted I made an offer at Lexus of Pembroke Pines and was it was accepted. I received a “worksheet” from Lexus of Pembroke Pines outlining the purchase agreement. I was concerned because I wanted a binding contract but it was not needed. The “worksheet” was good as gold. When I went to pick the car up nothing changed. The deal/worksheet was as promised and I had no surprises. I would definitely buy a car again from Lexus of Pembroke Pines via the internet. I worked with Alon and he was very professional and responsive to all my texts, phone calls and emails - and there was not much communication required. If Alon wasn’t available someone else would always let me know that he would get back to me ASAP - and he did. I also worked with Hotniel in Finance to complete the transaction and he was very professional and helpful.
