Now that he made his sale, he doesn't give [non-permissible content removed] about us. Michael Phan won't respond to my email nor return my phone calls. Very disappointing.

From the moment Jeff Goulding and I spoke, I felt like I could trust him. I don't usually like to be hovered over when shopping for anything but Jeff made me feel like he was really helping me. He went out of his way and spent about 5 hours with us getting the financial numbers where we needed them. He didn't rush us like he wanted to go help someone else, he stuck with us to the end. Erick in the finance dept was the same. he was honest and helped us make the right decisions. The whole experience at Tustin Buick/GMC was a positive one! I'll definitely return when its time to buy another!
    • Thank you for sharing this wonderful feedback, Jim. Our team is committed to providing dependable and transparent support to our clients, so it is exciting to see that Jeff and Erick went above and beyond to earn your business. They will appreciate your kind words. We look forward to working with you again down the road!

I would never go anywhere else. I bought the vehicle at another dealer, moved and these guys never missed a beat, treated my like I bought it there. Just great folks.

Bought a truck while in transit, and it got delivered to the dealership in a timely matter. Once I got the call, i picked it up. The car was exactly as described. No issues at all. The staff were very friendly and easy to talk to. I would recommend this dealership.
  • Unprofessional

Our salesperson, Cory was completely unprofessional. He insulted me over the phone. After this I was very clear with the manager, Tom that I did not want to deal with Cory and was assured by Tom that I wouldn't be. When I arrived to pick up my car, Cory came out of an office with Tom and stared me down (if there are cameras at the dealership, I encourage you to view this). Then continued glaring at me through the outside glass as my Wife and I sat with Martin from Financing. As we were wrapping up the finances, Cory is the one who showed us to the car with without saying a word. He then handed us a box, temporary license plates, the extra key and said "alright". My wife, who was unaware of my experience beforehand with Cory said thank you and he didn't even say it back. Right after she said, that guy was [non-permissible content removed]. We just spent nearly 80k and this was the treatment we got. I am totally disgusted that Cory will be receiving a commission on our purchase. Ron is who I initially dealt with and was great, every aspect after that was terrible. After working with Ron, we consistently felt as though everyone else thought they were doing us a favor. A follow up phone call in the next week (and not from Cory) would go a long way in preventing this from becoming an online review.

First time buyer. Met with Ed and said him and the rest of the salesmen would take care of me and find me a good car. That's just what they did. Ed is awesome!

Since buying our 2007 Yukon XL, we have done all the maintenance at Tustin GMC. I'm generally one to shop around the prices and avoid dealerships for service, but our experience at Tustin has been so good, that we keep going back. In particular, on our last visit, the service manager, was a delight to deal with on a warranty issue. He walked us through the issues, laid out some choices for us, and didn't pressure us one way or another. As long as we have our Yukon we will be servicing at this dealership.

My wife decided that she wanted to buy a GMC Yukon XL, with everything on it, and of course a specific color. We went to this dealership, and when we managed to attract someone's attention explained what it is that we were after. The guy had no idea what they had there, couldn't tell me anything about the Yukon's features, couldn't ask questions that I had about the car, didn't care to find out about it, and just told us that he didn't know but would find us a brochure. He apparently didn't have anyway to look up what they had, so took us around the back, walking about 20-30 yards ahead of us, clearly not caring one iota about his clients who had $50k or so ready to spend, scurrying around piles of cars from one to the next in the blazing heat trying to sell us what he happened to find. He had NO IDEA what was there, and walked past the car that we were after without even seeing it, still just running around well ahead of us, no intention of being civil at all. I saw the car, diverted to have a look at it, called over to him, and when he finally turned up he (of course) didn't have a key, couldn't get it out very easily, wasn't too keen to put in the effort and get it out for us, it was clearly all very inconvenient for him. What a [violative content deleted] that character turns out to be - the kind of guy who, as an employer, you'd be DELIGHTED to fire. Not very surprisingly, I'm sure, we decided that we didn't want to buy from that particular [violative content deleted], so walked out of the dealership & went to [another] dealer where we asked for someone knowledgeable and found someone immediately. The guy answered ALL my questions, had info on his PDA where he didn't have an immediately answer, and make a call on one particular question that I had to make sure he got the RIGHT answer for me. They had a list of what was in stock, drove us over to their storage location where the car was, we test drove it, loved it, handed over the money & left with a car. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!! For the rest of the story about Tustin GMC, do yourself a favor and read the next event on the "service" blog that I'm about to write. This happened about 10 weeks ago, with the follow up today... amazing, what an outfit. May they go bust soon! Do NOT buy from this lot, buy a bicycle instead if you have to. These people are an incompetent bunch of [violative content deleted].

    1 out of 5 starsby mje2 on 06/29/2008

After a bad buying experience with the Tustin GMC dealer (look under the "sales experience blog"), we decided to try them for service, as they are close to the house. This event involves a GMC Fiero, a little 2 seater car built in 1986 that they have maintained before (expensively...). My daughter used to drive this car, a few years ago, and it's been with us ever since. We now have a 17 year old, that needs a car, so I decided to get the car checked, fixed where necessary, and back on the road. I took the car to Tustin GMC, and handed it over. They charged me $89 for a "check" - which is fine - but didn't give me ANY paperwork once this check was done, just a verbal "the brakes are bad, and the brake intensifier is bad, and the brake pads need replacing and the rotors are cracked. It'll also need a tune and a few other things need doing, your total bill will be $3500 from our current estimate" - and you know what that means with the average car dealership: expect a $4500 bill to get things fixed. In the end, I managed to get a piece of paper out of them with a badly barely readable hand-written list of problems. I have it sitting on my desk on my "to do" list. We asked them for the service history for the car, and although they did find that the car had been there 3 or 4 times in the past when it came to the service history "they couldn't find it".... so much for computers, what a surprise. At a guess, it's probably on the same computer where they keep their new car inventory information. They explained that the work was major - 4 new rotors, brake pads, the brake booster by itself is a $350 item sir (since found it at the [violative content deleted] and just about everywhere else for about $120-150...). Although I was tempted to just let them get on with it, as I have too little spare time to be able to do anything much else, something was nagging at the back of my mind, and when I got home having decided NOT to pay the money and get it fixed, my wife said that she seemed to remember having the brakes done shortly before we stopped using the car. She was right, the brakes were fixed BY THIS SAME GMC DEALERSHIP. This weekend I finally got around to taking the car to [violative content deleted] and asking them to check the brakes and do a few other little things that needed doing. They just called to say that the brakes were brand new, and that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the brakes, the rotors, or the brake system. They checked the brake fluid, and it was all perfectly OK. What does that tell me? Well - we will not be buying our next car from them (and we're looking), we will not be using them for service. I most strongly suggest NOT using these people, as they were very clearly on the take. They were fully intending to charge me money for something major that did NOT need doing. They really intended to sped about $200 on parts & have the car for a few days so that they could give me a 3,500 dollar bill. Stunning. Do you want to buy a car from these people and have them take care of the maintenance ?????
    • I had to make an account just to say THANK YOU so much.

3 year ago, I got a 2008 Hummer H3 Alpha. I worked with Mickey in their sales department and he was very straight forward, answered all my questions and got me the information I needed, and I asked a LOT of questions. I wanted a combination of options and color they didn't have in stock so Mickey quickly found a truck in another dealer's inventory and got it moved to Tustin Hummer. Throughout the sales and financing process, the folks at Tustin Hummer were always forthcoming and easy to deal with.

Happy to have found a dealership that can handle the warranty and maintance work on my mothers Saturn. Fixed the check engine light on her Saturn at no charge. Even though it is a little farther away i will return to have service maintance done.

My wife and I had been looking at Acadias to upgrade to a third row crossover to accomodate our expanding family. We were only considering used/certified in a very specific price range. On Saturday, April 12, 2014 I found what looked like a perfect match online at Tustin Buick GMC. I emailed the internet sales department about my interest. The following day, Sunday, April 13, 2014 I recieved a voicemail and an email from Ed H. letting me know to contact him to set up a time to come see the vehicle that day. In fact, the subject line of the email sent at 10:14 a.m. stated, "It's Available!! Your Car Is Here." Furthermore, in the body of the email was the statement, "The vehicle you are interested in is still available. What is the best time for you to see and test-drive this vehicle today?" (if anyone is interested in seeing this email, I'd be happy to share it.) I even called Ed and spoke with him at approximately 10:50 a.m. to ask about his availability that day and to let him know we'd be coming by in the late afternoon. He confirmed that he would be there and could show us the vehicle. Accordingly, we stopped by the dealership (driving all the way from Corona to Tustin) in the late afternoon. After asking around, Ed finally came ambling out. He told me that he was tired and had to leave soon but he handed me off to one of his "best guys" Marcus. They both proceeded to tell me that, unfortunately, the care I was interested in was sold the night before (April 12th). I was dumbfounded. Marcus committed to looking for something similar on the lot, but it quickly became clear there was nothing in my price range that matched the description of the vehicle I'd had original interest in. Of course, that did not stop Marcus from pouring on the heavy sales tactics to try to get me into something else. He actually inferred that I was ignorant for not wanting to consider a lease. He said something to the effect of: well, I'm not saying you don't understand what I'm saying, but I feel like some people need to be educated on why they should lease. This is after telling him my specific parameters and that in no way would I consider a lease. Not surprisingly, he practically begged me to see if he could go inside and look for something that would match the parameters. While we were waiting for him to return, we decided that my wife would walk across the street to the AutoNation Ford dealership to look at the Explorer and Flex models that we hadn't yet considered. She came back and told me there were a few used/certified on the lot that looked good. Still waiting for Marcus to return, we left our car at the GMC dealership and walked across to look at the Fords. It was there that we were approached by Farhan G...a man who turned out to be our "knight in shining armor." Farhan proved to be honest and up front, understanding our needs and finding us a Ford Flex on the lot that matched our parameters. We hadn't considered a Ford Flex, but after driving the car and working with Farhan, we made a deal to trade our Jeep and purchase the Flex! What a night and day experience from one dealer/individual to the other. I so highly recommend that you go see Farhan if you're in the market for a Ford. I'd even highly recommend as a favor to me that you go visit Ed/Marcus at Tustin Buick/GMC first and ditch them to go to AutoNation Ford Tustin! ;-)

I have had my 2008 H3 serviced by the folks at Tustin Hummer for the past 3 years. Dave Jones and his guys always take my concerns seriously and work hard to perform quality repairs. Dave and crew also do a great job at giving good advice on what needs to be fixed, what can be deferred and what does not need fixing.

I am well aware of the issue of trust that keeps most people away from dealership service, only to find themselves seeking service when something terrible has gone wrong. That is why I feel it is so important to spread the word when someone finds a service department with honesty and integrity. Tustin Buick Gmc, in my opinion, is the best. After numerous service visits, this is the first dealership where I have been able to establish a functional relationship with the service department. Since my first visit with them, I learned really quickly that they take pride in their work, are willing to listen to your requests, work with you on any level possible, keep lines of communication very open by talking with you and giving you options you may not know you had, and they are very much into customer satisfaction...virtually unheard of these days. There is a level of trust between the dealership and my family that not only keeps me coming back for routine service and repairs, but makes them my primary stop when choosing a new vehicle. Always a great experience with David & Manny (advisors), but, more specifically, Dave Jones in service is largely responsible for how I feel as a loyal customer. If you want it done right and you don't want to worry about compromising quality of work, you can’t go wrong with them.

I am often leary of going to dealerships for work on my truck. I fear they will try go get me to purchase things I don't need and overcharge me. That is exactly the opposite of what I experienced at Tustin GMC. They were open, honest and went above and beyond to repair my truck. I will definitely continue to take my truck there for maintanece and repairs!

I would highly recommend Tustin Buick's Service Dept.
  • Bad Experience

I'm writing this review because of the bad experience I had at Tustin Buick/GMC. Sorry for the length, but if you are considering a purchase from this dealer you should take the time to read it as it will probably save you time and money. My wife and I were interested in purchasing a new Acadia so we went to the closest dealer there was - Tustin Buick. It was myself, my wife, and two small children. We had already done research and new what we wanted. We explained to the salesman what we were interested in, but they did not have the color and model we wanted. We thanked the salesman for his time and told him we were not interested. As we were walking out to our car the manager came out and asked what the problem was. I said there is not a problem we just cannot find what we want. He explained that they were a family business and they would like a chance to get the car we were looking for. I am a fair person and as a business owner myself I did not mind giving someone a chance. They asked us to wait about thirty minutes to see if they could locate the particular model, color, etc. we were looking for. After about 45 minutes the manager came out, put his hand on my shoulder and said, "We found the car you want... let us put hands on it before we make any promises". So we waited longer and finally after a couple of hours they said their employee was at the other dealer and they were driving the car over. Great - lets start the paperwork so when it gets here we can go. We have now been at the dealer for several hours with the kids and they were starting to get hungry and ready to go. The finance guy comes over and starts to go over the numbers. At the time GMC was offering 0.0% financing until the end of February, which is one of the reasons we wanted to upgrade. He gave me a number that was 3.9% interest. I asked him about the 0% and he said, "Oh yeah". Right there I new I had to be on my guard and he immediatley changed the financing to 0%. I should have left then, but we had been there for so long I just wanted to get my wife the car, finish, and go. We still had not seen the car that they were supposedly bringing over. While we were going over the numbers the salesman and finance rep kept saying we are adding this option and that option. I was confused because the car that was on its way was supposed to have all of those options already. They then said, "Just bring the car next week and we will install them for you." I realized that they were not bringing any car over and they never were. They had been lying to us and planning to give us one of the cars on their lot and adding the options to it later. This was a huge surprise to me especially after the speech about being a family business and give us a chance plea. This was frustrating for several reasons: they lied directly to my face and made myself, my wife, and my two small children wait for almost six hours. They told us they were a family business and then didn't mind making my family wait there all night. I should have realized what was going on earlier, but the managers plea got to me and I wanted to give them a chance. Purchasing a car is not an easy thing for the average buyer. The dealer has the upper hand and the buyer goes with as much knowledge as possible, but still relies on a lot of what the dealer has to say. I recommend you do as much research as you can before going there. My review is only an account of what my experience was. We were mislead and lied to from the top down at Tustin Buick/GMC. There was not just one bad salesman they all kept us there under false pretenses. Although it is subjective I think this review is a good account of the type of business they do at Tustin Buick/GMC. In addition to my review I have warned my friends and family about going to Tustin Buick to do business.
