by DR on 04/03/2024updated 04/09/2024I don't ever want to speak bad about anything or anyone, but I would like to help the next person that thinks about coming to DCH Toyota of Oxnard avoid getting into the same headache and nightmare I am in because I trusted in the wrong… dealership and salesperson. Toyota sold me a very bad vehicle. And although they said they check it and everything was in great condition, in was in fact NOT!!! Two weeks after I left their lot, I started experiencing problems, I would bring it in and "get the problem fixed" and what seemed like every two-three weeks after every "repair" I continued to experience the same problem. I honestly believe they knew what problems the car had and refused to fix it to sell it the right way. They just overlooked the issue and prayed to find a dummy and so they did. After the 3rd time of us calling for the same issue, they stopped returning our calls and have been avoiding us ever since. Instead of working with us to fix up the car they just went ghost. I get everything is a business, but it doesn't hurt a business to be decent. I wish there was a law or something in place that makes sure that dealerships buying vehicles that aren't from the same brand that enforces them to do full on thorough inspections and that makes them fix any and all problems when they get the cars before selling. Salesman Christian Rodriguez and the mechanics at Toyota and anyone else that saw or touched my car, knew exactly what was happening and there's absolutely nothing they can say that they did not. You are supposed to be professionals but have turned out to be the complete opposite. Some of us cannot afford new car payments and have to seek for used just to get us to work and back so if you do end up having to buy used from DCH Toyota of Oxnard please make sure you push for a complete diagnostic of the vehicle before purchasing.
Worst car buying experience ever
by Dani on 04/28/2023I would give 0 stars if I could. This was the absolute worst car buying experience I’ve ever had. Not only were they extremely rude and condescending to me while there, but they sold me a car that they knew had mechanical issues without… disclosing any of them. They also told me that both rear tires were brand new but I can see that one had obviously been switched out for a old worn tire that is leaking. It’s not even the same brand as the other rear tire and they kept evading the question when I asked about it. The were very evasive about all questions that I asked which I know now is because the car needed thousands of dollars of work. They also argued with me over putting enough gas in the car so that I could drive it to a gas station since it was on empty and probably wouldn’t have made it even the short distance to a gas station. They also waited over two months to transfer the title and registration. I’ve never been treated so poorly at a dealership and will never purchase another car from a DCH or Toyota dealership.I had the same experience! I'm dealing with car issues, and they have gone completely ghost on me. Most stressful situation ever!

by Steven on 05/02/2022I purchased my leased vehicle from DCH Toyota of Oxnard on 2/19/22 with the understanding that I'd refinance the vehicle with my Credit Union on the following business day. Subsequently, on 2/22/22, the vehicle was refinanced and a check… for payment in full was mailed to DCH Toyota of Oxnard--this check was cashed by DCH Toyota of Oxnard on 3/2/22. Unbeknownst to me, my account with Toyota Financial remained outstanding and I received a late notice. Upon speaking with Toyota Financial on 4/12/22, they indicated that payment was never received from DCH Toyota of Oxnard and advised me to contact the dealer. That same day, I contacted DCH Toyota of Oxnard and explained the situation. At that point, I was transferred to the "Finance Department"; however, the phone kept ringing and finally went to voicemail. I left a message and never received a call back. Not hearing back from my voicemail, on 4/18/22 (and a follow-up on 4/19/22), I emailed the following three individuals at DCH Toyota of Oxnard: Andres Santander Finance Manager [contact info removed] Richard Hill Finance Manager [contact info removed] Lee Jaitt Finance Manager [contact info removed] Not hearing back from the three individuals above, I emailed the following individual on 4/19/22: John Hautman General Manager [contact info removed] To date, I have not received a call back nor have I received a response to my emails that I sent DCH Toyota of Oxnard. My Credit Union and Toyota Financial have both made attempts to rectify this situation with the dealership, however, they too have been unsuccessful.The car had damages not shown online & issues the day after I purchased it.
by GS on 03/08/2022I do not usually leave reviews, but I really want to warn people of my personal experience in case if they were also going out of their way to go to this dealership for a used car like I was. This has been one of the most frustrating used… car buying experiencing I have had. I came to this dealer to buy a used car since I was having no luck with private sellers who would unfortunately provide dishonest information about their cars on sites like craigslist just for me to find out when I meet them to see the car. I saw that this dealer had a 2015 Toyota Yaris for sale and went to go get a test drive. From the pictures of the car online, there was no obvious serious damage on the car. However, when I went to test drive the car, I noticed the front bumper had a big crack on the front passenger side. Since the damage was CLEARLY not in the pictures online, it was surely caused by a worker backing up into it with another car, which had to be the case since the Toyota was parked with another car in front of it. The workers refused to do anything about the crack in the bumper, even though a finance rep told me that if a worker does something like that to the car, they have insurance to cover the damages, but apparently not for my car though??? Despite this, I still very much needed a car so I ended up buying it even after they refused to take care of their damage that was obviously not there in the pictures. Another thing to watch out for is that even though my car was listed as $10,889 online, the sales rep told me that the final out the door price would be over $14,000 because of some 'added security' features?? but they said they would sell it to me for $13,000 like they were giving me a deal. I understand that sales tax would bring the price up a bit but I found that amount just ridiculous. Maybe that is to be expected if buying from a dealer, I just wish I knew that beforehand. I just feel like they hustled me into paying more than what I was comfortable with (considering the damage) with one of their sales tactics, which I guess is my fault for falling for it. This was already enough to make me never want to give them business again, but on top of that, THE VERY NEXT DAY I EXPERIENCED ENGINE ISSUES THAT WERE NOT PRESENT DURING THE TEST DRIVE. When I try to turn my car on in the morning or after my work shift, the engine cranks very slowly as if it was a cold day even though that is not the case at all. With the temperature outside, there should be no reason why my engine is starting cold after my work shift, especially not for a Toyota under 100,000 miles. When I called to ask what they can do for me in my situation, they told me the car was sold as is and there is no warranty for cars over 80,000 miles (mine is 93,000). I would expect for this car in a good condition if I am purchasing it from a dealer, but this dealership essentially dumped a busted car on me for full price with no care for the damages they caused or the problems they failed to address. I have had some bad luck with private sellers and I wanted to buy from the dealer instead because I thought that they would be more reliable than buying from some stranger off the street, but it looks like I was sorely mistaken since apparently they do not inspect or maintain their own used cars. I've heard about dealers ripping people off and this time I finally got to experience it first hand. I can not recommend that anyone goes to this dealer. Their sales reps may seem friendly but they do not take care of you at all and just want your money in exchange for freeing up some space on their lot. If this is really what buying from dealers are like, I definitely wish I just went the route of buying private and paying extra to get the car inspected by a trusted mechanic rather than their own "mechanics" who would miss something like this.I wish I had seen your review before making my purchase! I also bought a used car because I could not afford to buy a new one and make 800$ payments. Now I am stuck with thousands of dollars worth of repairs just a few months after buying. I have not been able to enjoy my car even after they supposably fixed the issues only because my dad pushed them too two eeks after leaving their lot. Since then, they have not returned our calls and have been dodging us!
Bad Salesperson
by No help on 04/04/2021My daughter and I went to go check out some trucks. And no one bothered to help. I saw 2 sales men look at me as we pulled up. No help whatsoever very disappointed. My daughter and I walked the parking lot looking at the car for about 15-30… min and still no sites from no one. I even went inside and to see who can help and I was not even acknowledged. I was so angry that I left. As I was entering my car I saw 3 sales people outside looking at me as I entered my car and still nothing. Not even a “ Sir can we help you with anything”? Taking my business somewhere else. I live in Oxnard and wanted to support my local dealer but this was very disappointed and not a good experience. My daughter and I were looking forward on buying a Tacoma. Get your stuff together Oxnard Toyota, you just lost a customer.Awesome experience

CANNOT MAKE CONTACT WITH ANYONE AT THE DEALERSHIP!
by MIke O on 10/07/2019Can't reach anyone to schedule service or to get questions answered regarding warranty. Called the Finance department several times, no answer but was able to leave two messages. Yet days later, not even one returned call. Emailed twice… with no response. Meanwhile, this dealership sold us a car, finding out later that all four tires were too small and definitely not for that car, which eventually forced us to have to replace all tires at our own expense. All of these issues seemed to have now compounded making me realize that the dealership is only trying to make the next sale, and not interested in taking care of existing or prior customers. Perhaps I am taking this all out of proportion, but how would anyone else feel if they can't seem to get anyone on the phone or anyone to call back, not to mention the other issues that we are having with the vehicle.Mike, thank you for giving us this feedback. Unbelievable Experience
by Steve2799 on 09/22/2018We looked from Alhambra to Ventura for our new Prius. I was lucky enough to speak to Elijah Willis at Toyota of Oxnard. His deal beat the others by $3000 (Alhambra Toyotas best deal) all the way down to $700 at Toyota of Simi (next least… expensive to Oxnard). But in spite of the great deal this dealership rocks. Its beautiful, clean, with helpful people everywhere. Elijah (Sales Mgr) turned us over to Christian Sosa for the nitty gritty, finding the car, test drive, feature demo, paperwork, etc. Between these two gentlemen I was ready to buy another new car for my wife. These guys are awesome. And then you get into the dreaded Finance Office. Andres was great. My son who was buying the car had maxed out his budget so he couldnt add anything on other than the extended warranty and Andres just made sure we understood the other options and kept moving. Christian delivered the car sparkling clean with a full tank of gas and began the lengthy description of all the hi tech features in the Prius. He set up the phone and basics to get us going. I really cant say enough about Elijah and Christian. Its almost unfair to us consumers when car dealers make buying a car so stress free and actually fun. If youre looking for as great deal with people who understand the meaning of honesty and integrity, at a dealership that makes the experience something youll remember, go see these guys.Thank you so much for the 5-star review and the kind words about our staff! Steven got right down to work and came in lower than our budget. He had the opportunity to make more money but… chose to do the "Right" thing. We were in and out of financing in less than 15 minutes... Overall, a great experience for our daughter's first car/truck. THANK YOU!Thanks for the great review! by Gabby4410 on 04/01/2016Very disappointed with my last experience with Toyota, I found out through an insurance agent, that Toyota had problems with the headlight bulbs heating up and causing damage to the light. When I asked the dealer about it they said, there… was but I would have had to have it taken care of last year by November. I never received any kind of notification from Toyota, and the dealer never let me know the times I had it in for service. The dealer would not honor the replacement, so I called Toyota Corporate and they would not either. Very frustrated with dealer and Toyota, I have had Toyotas for over 35 years and this will be my last one. It appears corporate greed is more important than locality to its customers. We went in knowing what we wanted, and we were quickly shown a vehicle that met… our needs. Once selected, we negotiated a fair price, signed the paperwork and drove away.
