  • Great service and quick repairs done.

5 out of 5 starsby GeorgeAC on 04/06/2017

Check engine light came on. Service reps were able to determine the problem with a hose leading to the air filter, ordered the part, and when I came back to get the repair, they had it done in about an hour. Very good service from everyone, and my car is running smoothly again.
  • BEWARE!!!

1 out of 5 starsby Jadenrilei on 03/14/2016

BEWARE AGGRESSIVE, IMMORAL, AND HIGH PRESSURE TACTICS Anyone buying a car should do research and determine a number that they are willing to pay before visiting a dealership. I did this prior to visiting Koons Tysons Chevy Buick GMC. I am not desperate for a new vehicle so while my number is fair for the vehicle I am researching, it is admittedly low. I began the delicate dance of buying a used car with Jordan E. While he was a little over-eager nothing was truly alerting when we began. We eventually made it into the sales office and I made an offer. The offer was extremely low and I really did not expect much from him. He predictably came back with the sticker price. I attempted to get him (and the managers in the back) to come down from sticker at least a little bit, but they resisted. No problem. I left because the negotiations were obviously going nowhere. As I was having lunch my wife and I decided to raise my offer to try ending the always-frustrating search for a new car. The price I gave them was my max number I was willing to pay – $28,000 (fair, but admittedly low for the car I wanted). I understand that this is a tactical error in negotiating, but since I am not desperate and willing to walk away I gave it a shot. Jordan (and the manager) refused, remaining firm on sticker. I said that I understood, and hung up the phone, never intending to pursue any further. Later that night, I received a text that they could do $29,000. This was better, but still not my number so I refused and hung up. I then received a text asking for some of the research that I found to justify the fairness of my number. I obliged him with about five printouts of similar vehicles with prices supporting number. Up to this point there was no foul play. I was offering a low number and do not fault them for not accepting it. What happened next raised the flag. Jordan called me back. He said that they could do it at my number. I replied with surprise that that was good news, and attempted to reconfirm the price, $28,000 out the door. He said that he was unable to say the price over the phone as if it was an issue of national security (RED FLAG #1), then he said that all I need to do is return to the dealership to finalize the deal (RED FLAG #2). Now, I live a good distance away from the dealership and would have to miss out on work to seal this deal. My spidey-sense is also shrieking at his weird behavior. So I say that everything sounds great and I will come out as soon as I receive a purchase order via email. His entire demeanor changes at this point (RED FLAG #3). He begins to question the necessity of anything in writing (RED FLAG #4). I simply state that I will not waste my time to come all the way out there without some guarantee of the price promised. I get off the phone. Soon I receive a text stating that the Managers will only accept $29,000 (RED FLAG #5). This is a complete reversal from what was discussed on the phone. At this point, I am confused and upset. I call Jordan to give him an opportunity to explain his actions. He denies ever saying $28,000, which may technically be correct and keep him from officially violating any rules. However, he absolutely tried to lure me back into the dealership with the fraudulent acceptance of my offer. Jordan’s attempts to placate the situation were therefore unsuccessful, so I spoke with his manager, Bill S. Again, their explanation of the situation was underwhelming. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing a vehicle from Koons. I will find another vehicle at another dealership. I simply want to inform consumers so that they do not fall for this immoral, high-pressure sales tactic employed by Koons Tysons Chevy Buick GMC.
    • This does not sound like an unethical or immoral dealership. It simply sounds like your expectations were a bit, as you note, on the low side. You offered to buy at $28K, they countered with $29K. Fairly typical negotiation. My experience is a buyer rarely gets the dealer's best price unless the buyer is in the dealership. When the offers are this close, as a buyer, it is usually beneficial to visit the dealer to close the gap, which is usually the case as a dealer rarely lets a buyer sitting at the dealership leave over a few hundred dollars. In general a dealership is not immoral if they will not sell at your price just as you are not immoral if you will not buy at their price. If it had been me, I would have driven to the dealer and offered $28,250 or $28.5K, assuming I really wanted the vehicle. Is a few hundred dollars a material amount for a vehicle you really want?

  • Excellent Customer Service

5 out of 5 starsby LindaGMCGirl on 02/13/2015

My husband and I had the best experience we have ever had at a car dealership. Our Sales Consultant Earl Jones was awesome; he was so helpful and patient. He answered all our questions and took the time to show me all the features that came with our new vehicle. He even helped me set up most of them. He is truly a genuine and caring person, his only concern was making sure we had a great car buying experience and received the vehicle of our choice with minimal effort on our part. Everyone we had contact with at Koons of Tysons from the Sales Manager Jay Jarvis, the Finance Manager Kelli Dyer, to the parts department all treated us the same. They went out of their way to ensure we were happy with our purchase. Anyone looking to purchase a new or used vehicle with no hassle Koons of Tysons Corner is the place to go. Ask for Earl Jones and you will always get the VIP treatment.

We took our Traverse in for scheduled maintenance. Not only did they complete the service promptly, but they also identified and addressed a minor recall as well. Service here is reliable, trustworthy, and friendly.
  • very disappointing!!!!

Dealer replaced the rear left wheel hub and bearing along with ABS sensor. Repair cost was $800.....yes wooowwww..thank god i had Ford extended warranty only with $100 deductible. They didn't even try to help me since the car was 51k and out of warranty. I had a coupon for $40 from the dealer (Tyson's Koons) and they said since I am covered by an extended warranty and paying just a deductible I cannot use the discount coupon. When I told the service advisor (Steve) all the trouble I went through with this car (48k radio replaced, 49k water pump replaced) and asked him politely to call the manufacturer and try to cover this repair under the GM warranty, he looked at me and said " did i sell you this car?" What an answer......shame on these kind of people and companies....AND I told him yes you did, since I bought it from Koons Ford, and took it to be serviced at Koons Buick.....This is my own extended warranty and I am not stupid, I paid for it from my own pocket . They are sooooo greedy... I can take my car anywhere I want and get serviced and Ford warranty will pay the repair cost. They all see you as green $$$$$$, customer satisfaction is zero!!!! Even Buick customer rep contacted me through Buickforums.com and offered assistance but it was couple days later than I took my car to the dealer. I knew they could have helped but instead servise advisor Steve insulted me. To be honest I didn't believe all the 5 star reviews here !!!!

I had my Chevy Traverse serviced. Included recalls and oil change. Steve Wauldron was attentive to our concerns, and he saw to it that our waiting time was minimized and the service was completed before the expected wait time. We are happy with this dealership's service.

They lost my keys and for a recall, gave me a key that is stupid and adds a LOT of bulk to my key chain rather than sticking with the switch blade key.

  • Recall...and then some.

Steve was great. He kept me informed and made sure I was taken care of throughout the whole process. I brought the car in for a recall issue, and due to the mechanic's observation and skill, other issues were found (and subsequently resolved). Steve took care of everything, including getting the work covered by my extended warranty, as well as a rental car. I ended up with repairs that would have cost me over $2,500, but I only had to cover my deductible. While the repair took several days, versus the one day I was initially planning on, I had a nice new rental car to drive, was kept informed and involved, and Steve took care of all the warranty, paperwork, calls, rental car, and hassles...which made the whole process comfortable, easy and stress-free for me. Plus, since I'm getting ready to move (with my car) to Germany, the inspection and great work the mechanics did makes me feel confident in the condition of my vehicle. I couldn't have asked for more.

I run my HVAC business out of my truck, when it goes down, I can't work. So having koons service take care of my tuck in such a timely manner, on a Saturday, means the world to me.
  • Avoid service when it's convenient for you...

Courtesy, this trip...Not so much my previous trip, where rudeness prevailed because I arrived an hour before closing time and they obviously didn't want anything to do with me...Not sure why I thought I should return, but drove the 50 mIle round-trip anyway...

Dave Sawyer and Bryan Murray were awesome!!! Dave had me in and out in a few short hours, went over every detail of the vehicle and how to operate the gadgets, which most sales people do not do or are unaware of how to operate the Nav. Dave also followed up with me after the purchase and also kept me informed while I was waiting for the vehicle to come in. Bryan made sure I was with the right person and taken care of! Dave and Bryan are outstanding!!

Patrick was very helpful: I was concerned problem wasn't corrected. I spoke with a service advisor the night before in Patrick's absence. Patrick followed up with me very early the next morning. He also asked me to call him if any more problems. So far everything has been fine.
