by wade94vette on 12/24/2014We came to Lindsay VW to look at a 2012 CC on a Sunday that I found online. Being from the Hampton Roads area we were traveling to Sterling to see the car. The salesman was helpful while we were online and on the phone. They were waiting… when we arrive and we got the deal completed and the had us on the road home in less than 2.5 hours. The consideration they showed us was appreciated. I am happy with the purchase and the experience was much better than the normal experience in buying a carThanks for driving from Hampton Roads! When we brought it back to for the two week check up we noted that the intermittent windshield wiper was not working. The friendly service staff gave… me a loaner car and updated me every day on the status of the repair. Unfortunately, they found a more serious factory defect, but VW corporate stepped up and replaced the car at no cost to me. The experience has confirmed my confidence in the VW brand - total class and professionalism. Everyone I have dealt with at Lindsay Volkswagen has been friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I would strongly recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a new or used car, and I cannot praise the service staff enough. I have bought many cars and dealt with many dealerships, but Lindsay Volkswagen is by far the best I've ever experienced.Thank you for taking the time to write and your patience to make this right. Our salesperson was Kaela Kalkhoff and she was so helpful and knowledgeable! We came from NC… to buy this vehicle it was over a five hour drive and we would do it all over again! Everyone at this dealership is very friendly and helpful! The next time we are in the market for another VW we will be buying from Lindsay! The only thing I hate is we don't live close enough to have our vehicle's serviced there! Received a response and a phone call from Clyde Htoon who was very personable on the phone and email and did not push for a… hard sale. He simply asked me to let him know when I'm ready to do a test drive. Met with Clyde and bought the car the next day. We did not shop anywhere else because Clyde was so great to work with and it was one of the best car buying experience we had. We didn't feel pressured to have to buy it and we believe that is the main reason it was so enjoyable to work with Clyde. The whole process went smoothly and we will definitely return to Lindsay VW for all our future purchases as long as Clyde is there.Traveled from Baltimore area to purchase at Lindsay

He then searched the east coast and eventually found what we wanted, at a great price, so we did not need to place an order and wait… 90+ days. He was very friendly and professional, and seemingly tireless! He always responded quickly and completely to emails. We did not receive this level of service form our local dealer (near Baltimore, MD), so we purchased from Lindsay. I would definitely recommend them (and Josh!). It was worth the trip from Maryland.We are won over.
by rhino01 on 09/12/2014My wife wanted a more fuel efficient vehicle so we looked at some diesel options. We were greeted by Kasey who was energetic and very knowledgable. We explained that we wanted to look at several vehicles. After getting some requirements… from us, he prepared some vehicles to test drive. After each test drive, he had the next vehicle ready and gave us any assistance we asked for. We even tested a Touareg TDI to compare to a Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel. We ended up coming back to buy a Golf TDI. We had a great sales experience. It was a better experience than we had at a BMW dealership that we bought two cars from. We ended up coming back for the Touareg TDI even though it was more expensive than the Jeep. We had such terrible experiences with the multiple Jeep dealerships that we found the more expensive vehicle worth it for the level of service. Everyone was enthusiastic about making sure we were taken care of and asking sure that our questions were answered. They also like to make sure we were hydrated. We were always offered beverages. We would whole heartedly recommend this dealership to anyone looking at a VW.Thank you for taking the time to share this positive feedback! It was worth the drive, because they had the best selection of cars, and could easily title it for me in Md. Marc W. was an excellent salesman, and I was treated very… well. I had dragged my young daughters around to several Maryland dealers, but when we pulled up to Lindsay, they quickly noticed the difference, and so did I. I feel very good about my purchase here, and very confident about the quality of the Passat which I expect to have for many years to come. The gas mileage savings from the new diesel engine, will offset my car payments by a lot. Now it's a pleasure to sit in rush hour traffic going into DC every day in my cool new car!Great car buying experience at Lindsay VW.

Marc W. was really helpful, knows the cars really well, understood what we wanted/needed, and never made us feel like he just wanted our money (like unfortunately so… many other car salesmen). The sales rep answered my questions while I was on the road, so we kept the conversation going. When I returned, I went to Lindsay's VW dealership in Sterling, VA… to test drive a Passat TDI SEL and was instantly impressed. The deal went smoothly, and I felt comfortable that they had answered all my questions. While I waited for the paperwork, I was introduced to the management, service manager, and service reps. Not quite like buying a more expensive Euro sedan, but very close. I did my homework, and heard no false stories from the sales rep. Overall, a relatively stress-free, nonsense-free buying experience. by roadjet on 06/24/2014This was my first totally on-line, long distance car purchase. I researched a specific car for over 2 months and trended prices before finding this little jewel. I thought I would be apprehensive and instead the salesman was quick to… re-assure me along the entire process. This was by far the best car purchase I have ever made. The salesman answered all my questions, all my many....many phone calls. The pre-approval process was by far the quickest I have seen. The Price was outstanding and even 6 weeks later cannot be beat in the entire US by any private seller, off dealership or even VW World Auto certified dealers PERIOD. Plus this being certified, you can rest assured that it has factory coverage well past the 3/36 by adding an additional 2/24. Finding a low mileage, one owner car just under 13K meant that there is plenty of warranty left. I was unfamiliar with the shipping process and used it instead of flying or driving over 1100 miles to pick up car. It was a slower process over a more direct approach, but that was my choice and they did everything they could to get the car to me as quickly as possible. When the car arrived it had some light cosmetic damage from shipping that they quickly worked to fix for me. Even when the permanent registration and plate did not arrive due to slow out of state DMV processing, they promptly sent me updated temporary tags so I was covered. Hands down, they inherited a repeat customer. My only regret was not being able personally shake their hands and thank them for making this the BEST overall car purchase in my long list of 25+ over the years. More dealerships should take a lesson from the Lindsay playbook. I truly feel like part of the family now.Rude response from the salesperson

I specifically asked for a vehicle - it's on the road price. One Mr. Joseph B communicated with me… and wanted me to call him and wanted me to go there. I insisted on the price. Got what I asked for
by starbird on 11/30/2010After our Tiguan was totaled, and I approached dealers about getting a replacement, only this dealer was willing to see if there were any blue Tiguan's with a beige interior heading over on the boat for us. That, and they offered the 1.9%… VW financing that other dealers told me we couldn't have, and matched the zag.com pricing other dealers were offering. They kept me informed of where the car was at all times, and helped me managed the convoluted VA taxes and tags I was trying to avoid by sticking with a MD dealer. The finance guy was helpful and was willing to work with me when I noticed a mistake in his calculations. It was worth driving out to Dulles to get it (plus they reset the low tire pressure sensor on our rabbit which had been bugging me for weeks for free).Service center is such a drag...
by michieshepherd on 08/19/2010I had always been a fan of Lindsay Volkswagen untill recently. They had the Coil pack recall so i took my car in about a month ago and then my car started to bogg. I took it over to a good friend of mine to hook it up to a machine to figure… out what was wrong and he told me the #2 coil was misfireing... ( did they do the recall? ill let you decide ) so i took it back to them for them to actually do the recall and told them that the #2 coil was misfireing. I sat and sat and sat there in the waiting room and finally after about 1 1/2 hrs i went up to the counter and asked them what is going on? i only came in for the recall... well guess what... they plugged it up the their machine to give me a laundry list of problems with my car and made me pay them $75 for hooking it up to their machine. First off i didn't need all of that info in the first place, I only wanted them to fix what they should have done the first time i went in there... Then they cont to tell me they "had" to hook it up and they "have" to charge me the $75. I will never go back there ever again! Also, when i left my car still bogg so did they fix the problem... NO! they will rob you at any chance they can get. Also, i called them back to figure out what can be done about this and do you think they called me back? NO! there service center SUCKS!!! here i am with a broken car that still needs the recall of coils. Now i have to go out and use my own money for the coils! Why do a recall if they dont fix it?Once a good place to go
by col_debugger on 06/02/2010I used to think that Lindsay VW was unique among dealer repair shops in that they had done good service at competitive prices. Used to. After my last two maintenance visits I noticed that my MPGs was continuously going down. At first I… believed it was the new tires I had installed. However, one thing I have noticed in the 100,000+ miles I've driven my Golf TDI is that as the oil got older, the fuel economy tended to drop. I decided to chance going to a local oil changing place (not jiffy lube) and almost like magic my MPG was back to normal after that oil change. Seemed rather coincidental to me. They have also charged me for tire rotations which were never performed. On my last visit there they returned my car with a mark from the front fender to the rear door, which of course they had nothing to do with. I have moved on from Lindsay.Worst experience ever! Not to be trusted! [violative content deleted]!
