  • THANK YOU RICHARD!!

    5 out of 5 starsby Lisa_Austin on 08/29/2018

My Mom (70+) needed a new car & I can't thank Richard Cortez enough for taking such good care of her. Richard and I did all of the communication by phone & email. He gave us a good price and took the extra time to make the entire experience less stressful for my mom. In the past, the process of purchasing a new car has been overwhelming & stressful for her. I was not able to go with her to pick up the car, so her and her best friend made the trip (from Austin to San Antonio), while I was at work. I told my mom, if anything was different from what we agreed upon, she was to walk out the door. I also communicated to Richard that my mom understood all the terms we agreed upon, but that she sometimes needs a little extra time to process all of the other information. I asked him to plan a little extra time and to slow the sale down so it would be less stressful for her. My mom walked out of North Park Mazda with a new CX5. She had nothing but nice things about Richard and the entire staff. It was well worth the trip to San Antonio for the quality of service. Thank you Richard for taking the extra time! I truly appreciate it, Lisa

Our Sales Consultant's name is Muohammad Alsareinye. He is the consummate professional who delivered "above and beyond" customer service throughout the entire process. He brokered the deal we requested. He delivered our new car to our home -he had to arrange for a family member to pick up his daughter from school, because he was scheduled to accomplish that task at the time we requested delivery. The dealership is great, Muohammad is the "greatest".
  • Mazda 6 Car Buying Experience

    5 out of 5 starsby IgotmyDD214 on 10/06/2017

My name is Aaron, and I began my car shopping experience after I was in an accident that totaled my truck. I loved that truck, I had for 16 years, but it was time that I upgraded vehicles and purchase something that was a little more economical. I used the USAA Car Buying Service and was set up with a quote from North Park Mazda and began my the process the my salesman Fernando Galindo. I was immediately impressed by his professionalism and friendly approached. I happened to show up randomly, when he had a customer, but he did what needed to be done to accommodate both parties with a smile on his face. When he came to show me the vehicle, he stopped and introduced me to Camden Steele, a sales manger at NP. He shook my hand, and made me feel at home. Fernando then showed me the vehicle I had found online, and informed me regarding the standard features and options that came with the vehicle, and then we proceeded to a test drive. Afterwards I informed Fernando that I wanted the night to think it over. He agreed, and told me that if I had further questions to give him a call. The next day I did a little more of my homework. I wanted to call another dealership just to see what they are offering. I realized that in these days buying an extended warranty is a must, so part of the process should be where do you want to get that vehicle serviced. I called that dealership to speak with a service operator, and for 45 minutes could not get a hold of anyone...needless to say that did not inspire confidence. I called the North Park Dealership and was immediately transferred to Andrew Olivares, a service manager. He spoke to me about 20 minutes and told me about his technicians (he knew their first names) and the pride and enthusiasm he shared with them to work at North Park. I came back that night. I met Fernando who introduced me to Nate Nairn, the finance manager. We spoke about the process and the numbers to get the deal done. I signed the paperwork, and I took the vehicle the next day after work. This experience from the people at North Park Mazda has been nothing short of amazing. If I think about the total time I actually spent in the dealership to get the process done, I would say that I spent a little over an hour and half. Thank you to the people at North Park Mazda.

    5 out of 5 starsby Ernest5 on 10/06/2017

My fiancé and I were due for another vehicle and Naomi Ortiz found the best option for our dollar. She not only provided impeccable service, but also ensured the process remained smoothly throughout. This is our second purchase through North Park Mazda because of the wonderful service. We will continue to recommend this location to our family and friends.

  • Haven't bought a car in seventeen years

5 out of 5 starsby DogMike on 07/22/2017

I was in the car selling business some 30 years ago. I didn't like the business. I didn't like what I did to sell a car. Consequentially, I don't buy cars often. My old Rodeo was dying. I needed a car. I looked at Toyota, Nissan and Subaru. I bought a Mazda CX-5 from North Park Mazda in San Antonio, Texas. Yee haa! Sorry. My salesman was Richard Cortez. I must say that we got along, which is rare for me. To say that he's knowledgeable is an understatement. Cars have evolved since I bought my Izusu. Cars have become smarter than me. My Rodeo had a manual a half inch thick. My CX-5, my Sexy 5, has a manual over an inch thick. Did Richard explain the entire manual or the workings of the entire car to me, no way. However, he made the pertinent facts in a simple to understand why and more so, he told me how to access everything I might need. Also he said, "If you need a help on anything about your new car, please feel free to call me. I like that. Would I buy another car from Richard? Given time, sure. In a heart beat. You won't go wrong by check calling Richard Cortez at North Park Mazda, [contact info removed].
  • Great Dealership

5 out of 5 starsby CarlLonghorn on 05/05/2016

Everyone at this dealership is so customer oriented - people greet you, ask if they can help, go out of their way to do what is needed to take care of you. From car buying to taking vehicles in for service, it is straightforward and easy. We just bought a Mazda CX-5 and Mazda-6 there, two days apart from the same salesperson. Jhen was so helpful and energetic during the buying process, and the whole experience was positive. He did whatever was necessary to earn our business. The rest of the staff were just as helpful and customer oriented. We had to take the cars back to get the mobile app equipment installed, and the service department was excellent - they took care of our every need. We look forward to a long relationship with North Park Mazda!
    • Carl, we appreciate your business and letting us know that our customer focus doesn't go unnoticed. I have let Zhen (Gin) know that you enjoyed working with him. We all look forward to a long relationship with you as well. Welcome to the North Park Mazda family.

  • Proceed with CAUTION

    1 out of 5 starsby reviewer234 on 10/14/2010

BEWARE dealing with this dealership and it's service department. When my accelerator on my Tribute stuck on the highway (very serious problem and terrifying experience), I was told to bring the car in to be checked out by the dealer. North Park Mazda not only charged me over $100 to tell me what was wrong, they refused to accept responsibility for their faulty machinery or repair it. When I attempted to have towed off their property after paying the fee, the tow-truck driver found that they had mis-placed my car and none of the employees knew where it was. I had to arrange and pay for another tow the following day. When I tried to talk to Tony in the service department about it, I was argued with, yelled at and hung up on, twice. This story may sound extreme, but it did happen. Please proceed with caution.
  • DON'T BUY at North Park Mazda

2.8 out of 5 starsby flexmo on 02/03/2010

Should have read the reviews, but then again, they were not supposed to be as bad as World Mazda or IPAC according to reviews. Had a great deal on a Mazda i Sport Automatic ($17,805 MSRP) for $14.5K after $1K off in Mazda incentives, in addition to free oil changes, free carwashes, and 0% for 60 months. That was until we went to see Franklin, the Financial Manager. Price tag on loan paperwork was almost $300 more than agreed, in addition to a $585 FEE for FREE carwashes. Somehow Mike, the sales manager, had forgotten to explain that there was a fee to get the free carwashes. Franklin went ahead to explain that there is nothing free in life. As I reminded them, I didn't make the offer, they did in an effort to lure people. I voiced my disappointment with their "dirty tricks" just to lure in customers. So the free carwash was taken away from the deal. The so called free oil change is also a sales trick, not free at all. All of the sudden everyone started to develop a very unfriendly attitude specially when we also opted out of an extended warranty. Requested installation of tinted window, supposedly warranty for life, but they didn't provide such warranty in writing; didn't find out until after signing all paperwork. Do your homework before hand. A good place to get started is http://beatthecarsalesman.com/ . Do yourself a favor and go over the loan paperwork and make sure numbers match. Even better, take your business somewhere else where you be appreciated.

my wife just bought an 07 jeep from north park masda. this jeep had a known emisions problem, with a little trickery the engine light can be tricked not to come on , after a few days the light will show again. after taking the car to a real jeep deailer we were told this was not a new problem with the car and that north park masda surely knew about the problem. after taking the car back to north park masda my wife was told there is nothing we can do for you. the north park rep. seemed to be amsued by this with an "oh well" and a snicker.
  • Be wary

    3 out of 5 starsby rab8 on 11/16/2007

Having dealt with the service dept for nearly 4 years I feel comfortable warning anyone thinking of using them to be wary and be prepared to fight to get the service you need, esp if it is warranty related. Don't let the new building fool you, behind the pretty facade is a service dept that has no interest in you unless they can make some money off of you. Nothing is easy or quick in dealing with them - be prepared to be aggravated by the slow response and poor attitude.

After going to 3 other Mazda dealers who provided extremely poor sales experiences, I went to North Park and got excellent service --- unfortunately, the sales person has left the dealership

  • 2nd time buyer

    2 out of 5 starsby Anniegirl5 on 09/27/2013
    updated 06/04/2025

I was a second time buyer. Well, the sales experience was very good, and I think I got an excellent price for my trade in. The only problem was that I had the impression this certain car that I was going to buy was the last year of that body style before they drastically changed the body style. I wanted the last year. I did lots of research and everything to find out if this new body style was coming out 2014. When it really comes down to it, It was my mistake to begin with and to end with, since I had not fully educated myself, but these guys knew, because I called on the phone a couple of times and drove all the way from out of town to come and buy this car, because I had been told, I had read and they, especially the salesman agreed with me, that oh yes, the 2014's are going to be the new ones with the new body style. My mistake was being too hasty and impulsive, because I did not take into account that yes the new body style would be coming out in 2014, but like most of the new year model cars, the year model would be for the 2015's, so in all reality, this new 2014 car looked like, guess what? it looks just like my brand new 2013 ! so in order to get the last year of this body style, I would have had to have waited till the 2014's came out a week or so ago, to get that. The salesman knew this was goal and he knew I loved the car I traded, and I would have been happy to have just gone back home and come back in a couple of months or next year. I would have bought from them, but that guy knew what I was going there for, and what I hoped to accomplish, and he could have stopped me and told me I was misinformed, and leveled with me, but I see that he and most of the others in that dealership, just let me go on like that, because they were not interested in how I felt or what I wanted, but in just selling a car and getting the money. To me, that is not customer satisfaction. In my opinion, this was dishonesty. I know that the ultimate Mistake was on my part, but they could have corrected me.
