  • Sleaze comes from the top down.

    1 out of 5 starsby Gillman_Review on 12/08/2016

I spoke to the head office who represents the Gillman family when someone has an issue with one of their dealerships. They are not honoring warranty or the contract for sale. I'm having to file a lawsuit because of it. Sleaze always comes from the top. There is a culture of sleaze amongs Gillman dealerships. This could only mean that it is acceptable my the owners and management.

  • purchase good, (lack of) service terrible

I purchased my new Honda from Gillman a very months ago and was very happy with the purchase, price, dealership, salesman, etc. HOWEVER, the air conditioning soon went out. Even though I called ahead, I had to wait forever for the service rep who seemed not interested in me. Then he and the salesman wanted me to put a $150 down payment in case the part was not covered under warranty. The car was 2 months old! They wanted me to leave it overnight. I soon took the car to [another dealership], who diagnosed the problem on the spot at no charge. I later brought the car back to [the other dealership], their driver took my family to the mall and later picked us up, and the problem was fixed at no charge, and no deposit. I do not recommend Gillman service.

  • As good as a gas station mechanic

On May 9 2008, I had my new Accord with VIN number 1HG*************85 serviced for the first time. I was surprised that the dealership service department deviated from the service program found in the manual of the car. After mentioning that I was there to have the A 1 service your technicians had no idea what A 1 service included. I had to ask them to have the tires rotated myself as they only intended to do an oil change despite the Honda service program. Furthermore, they informed me that I would have to disregard the car’s service schedule for the next oil change and they stuck a god awful sticker at the windshield informing me that I should have an oil change in 5k miles despite the cars oil life counter. To make things worse, they did not sign or stamp the service record booklet that comes with the manual of the car. I had to come back with it and force them to do so. Last but not least, despite their promises that they are going to enter the service work to Honda Owner’s link website the service department has done nothing about it a month and a half later, even though in the meantime, I have received solicitation to continue being their customer by email, mail and over the phone. As I said this is my first experience with Honda dealers. I hope there are better than this one.

  • Came in for an oil change, left without A/C

Took my 2000 Civic to get an oil change so they could also do a complimentary multipoint inspection. I do this with my Xterra and my Q45. Got the car back and they told me about what needs replacing yet my air conditioning stopped cooling consistently. It will cool when you start up but after a while, it just blows warm air. I told them this and they wanted me to pay $150 for a diagnosis and denied all responsibility. I am not about to fight a battle in court for a car that isn't worth much anymore but I am never taking a vehicle here again.
