  • Service for Chevrolet recall notice

    5 out of 5 starsby DonnaR2015 on 09/18/2015

I was pleasantly greeted as I waited in line to have my car serviced for a Chevrolet recall notice. The wait in line was not long and the service tech was very efficient.

Amazing! Mr. Don Wells was a great person to work with, he was honest, knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. Usually, we dread the idea of shopping for a car but he made it simple, hassle-free, and absolutely a wonderful experience. Not to mention, the price was one that no other dealerships can beat!

My experience was okay until I showed up one morning without an appointment. The manager acted like I had committed a crime but I was told by another representative to come by 730 am...first come first serve. Next time I will confirm whether or not I need an appointment.

  • Used Car Dept -15 minutes and never plan to return.

Summary- The sales man was more interested in pushing payment options on my clearly stated test drive visit than with helping me to get a car. When shut down I was treated like a waste of time. I would give his name as he had the gall to give me his card after our interaction. However it is requested that no personal information is shared. My experience- I went to test drive 2 cars, was delighted to see a 3rd I was interested in. The associate that came out to greet me was more interested in how I was to pay than helping me find a vehicle. When saying I was interested in just test driving he asked how I was going to finance. After telling how I was to finance he asked which bank I was going through, and commented on how they were in line with that bank's rates. I had to tell him "I am not here to talk about payment, I am here to test drive some." Before I was even able to bring up which cars I was there to test drive. He asked how many, I told him 3. This was too many for him. He told me "If you plan to buy today you can test drive all three." I did not want to waste my trip to the dealership, so I asked him if I could test drive one car. He told me to give him my drivers license and full coverage insurance. I do not have full coverage insurance, I have not needed it. He told me that without full coverage the best he could do is drive the car for me. I don't disagree entirely with this. However being a test passenger in a car helps no one get a feel for how it handles. So, trying to salvage the situation and get to at least see how the car felt I asked if I could sit in it. He agreed and told me he would be right back with the keys. I went to the car and looked at the surrounding ones. It was taking awhile and just when I was considering leaving I noticed the car lights flashing on and off. Then they flashed again. I looked up and he was standing still at the entrance of the dealership with the keys unlocking the doors with the remote. I was through with the whole situation. I sat in the car I was looking to buy after I made sure it fit how I like to drive. Got out, told him thank you and committed to not going back, even if that dealership has it or any future car I am interested in. They have lost my potential business.
  • Don't use this Body Shop.

We took our car here to be repaired after a wreck because it was on the referral list from our insurance. They promised to have it back to us in a month. Two weeks past the due date, no one would answer the phone and when someone did they didn't know the status or told us to call back. Finally 2 months after the due date we get our car back. When I was there, I notice the wheels looked off toe and vibration from the steering wheel. They said it was fixed to dealer specs. When the insurance rep came out to view the work he agreed that the shop did a poor [violative content deleted] job. The rental car they gave us old, dirty, and smelt like cigarettes and cigaweed. After we got our car back, we gave up messing with them. It was fixed good enough to their standards, not ours. We plan to trade it in and buy an Import. Don't take your car or truck here. They just suck.
  • Never Again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They destroyed my supercharger when they installed the GM stage kit for my Supercharged Cobalt. They did replace it under warranty. But they gave the car to me with the supercharger sounding like it had rocks rolling around in it. And I had to take it back and they installed a new supercharger the next day. The next time I took it there they gave it back to me with the check engine light on after an oil change and it was NOT on when I took the car in. It turned out to be an electrical connection that the technician had disconnected for some reason. I found the loose connection while the service rep and I looked under the hood. In fact I was certain they had taken something loose as the check engine light had never come on before. Then they ran a special on oil changes and I took it to them. Yes I know it makes me look dumb to take it back there after what they did before but I honestly thought they would maybe actually care this time. My car takes 6 quarts of Mobil 1 MAX and the invoice said 7 quarts of Mobil 1. I immediately went to the service rep and he told me my engine would take 7 quarts. It is a 2.0 Liter 4 cylinder and 6 quarts is exactly what GM says to use. Overfilling an engines sump can lead to problems including oil leaks and bearing damage from oil that has foamed because of over filling. I left vowing to never return to Bruce Lowrie Chevrolet and changed the oil myself using the right oil and the right amount. And I do not understand why they would treat any customer with that kind of disrespect and especially one that really does want to take care of their car. It is really like taking my car to a stereotypical ignorant Texas redneck mechanic and that is kind of sad.
  • Great Service and Bodyshop!

Bruce Lowrie has serviced my HHR for some time. When my mother had issues with her Honda and was quoted over $2000 for repairs by a Honda dealer, I had her go to Bruce Lowrie. They were able to diagnose the problem and fix in for a couple of hundred dollars. I recently had to visit the bodyshop. they gave me a quote, keep me in the loop as work was being done. It was delivered on time and it looks great. It looks like it did before the accident! Friendly and professional folks there! Thanks!
