  • One problem after annother

    We purchased a truck from Dick's Hillsboro Hyundai in February. Although their actions were 100% legal, they are unethical. We had already been approved for a loan through our bank, the sales guy insisted that he could get us a better deal and that the dealer HAS to run a credit inquiry even though we already had the loan approval forms. We did not want our credit to be hurt by too many credit inquiries and he promised that they would only submit it to a couple banks. My husband had over 10 inquiries hit his credit from them! The sales guy asked us what we owed on our trade in, we were unsure of the exact amount and he told us that we could give him an estimate within $500 of the balance owed. In late June, were sent a bill stating that the car dealership had made multiple attempts to contact us and that we owed $438.41 on the balance of our loan for the trade in and if we did not respond within a certain amount of time, that they were going to send the bill to collections. We know this is untrue because we had been back to the dealership multiple times regarding problems with the truck. They even refunded us over $600, in May, when the truck broke down on the mountain and had to be repaired in Sandy. My husband went into the dealership and gave them his card information so that they could auto deduct the $438.41 on the first of July. That never happened but instead we received a collections letter saying that we still hadn't paid the bill. Like I said they were well within their legal rights, but was it right? NO. We will never do business with any form of Dicks Auto Group ever again.

  • Disappointing at the end of the process

    I was prepared to give a 5-star review. The salesman, who was pinch-hitting for another salesman who was on his day off when I came back to the dealership, had agreed to include car mats and a cargo cover for my Ioniq in the price I had been offered. After I chatted with the manager about other details, and agreed on what I wanted, the salesman came back and said that he was "mistaken" about whether I would get car mats, and offered to sell them to me. I got on Amazon and discovered I could get them more cheaply, so I gave him a pass on what looked like a minor mistake on his part about what was included. Maybe I should have walked then. After I signed all the purchasing documents and left the office to get my car, the salesman told me he was also "mistaken" about getting a cargo cover for my Ioniq. He said several times, "that's on me," but didn't have any remedy to offer. So actually it's on me -- the car buyer -- to find it myself or pay the dealership to sell me what I had been told would be part of the deal. Would adding that "mistake" to the earlier one have caused me to back out if I had known about both before I signed all the paperwork? Maybe; maybe not; but it would have been a subject of discussion in talking to the guy doing the documents. I gritted my teeth and didn't rescind the contract, but it will make me think twice about dealing with this dealership again.

    I liked the variety of cars, the knowledge of the staff, and customer service was outstanding. Everyone was very friendly and patient while I test drove numerous cars to find out what I liked the best and what was within my budget. Jahaira, my salesperson was a joy to work with. She made me feel comfortable in purchasing a car with no added pressure. She was very knowledgeable and made buying a car fun. Ryan Lawson, the sales manager was also very helpful and he explained a lot of information to me about the cars. I really appreciate how he was able to find the best interest rate and car insurance for me as well. Overall a wonderful experience. Thanks.

    We went on the 4th of July, just to look. Salesman, Tim Burke, did an excellent job showing the car and leading us through a great test drive. Inspite of the holiday, everyone worked hard to get us a great deal and we drove home in a brand new car. It has been a week and I have no regrets.

    I came in to buy a new car, and was Helped by Alex Rowe, He really help me make a great choice on my Mazda 6. I had been looking for a car for 5 weeks, had it not have been for Alex and helpful, consultive I would not have found a car. I even recommended my friend because of Alex who also bought a car.

    My husband and I went into Hillsboro Hyundai without any expectations of going home with a new car. We originally went in to upgrade and trade in my husband's 2 door Mustang for a 4 door family car, having just had a baby last July. We had our sights set on a Prius, but when I saw the Hyundai Elantra on the showroom floor, I was much more intrigued. The Elantra was much better suited to our needs in terms of space and roominess/comfort, and gets great gas mileage which was a big reason we wanted a Prius. Janiff helped us out initially, and Alex and Gary stepped in to make the buying process even smoother for us - while Janiff helped us with our credit application, Alex did a full appraisal on our Mustang. The entire staff stayed well past their closing time to assist us with our purchase. My husband and I don't have good credit (we are working on that), so we were ecstatic when they found a decent interest rate and a bank willing to lend to us. Every person we interacted with at Hillsboro Hyundai was helpful (without being pushy) and took the time to answer our questions, even if it meant they got home late (on a Friday night no less!) I really can't say enough good things about Hillsboro Hyundai - thank you to everyone who made our lives so much simpler by upgrading us to a family car. Our new Hyundai saves us money on gas, increases our ability to travel to Seattle to see family, and makes getting the baby in and out of the car that much easier. Not to mention having a new car payment will IMPROVE our credit rating which we desperately need. We can't thank you enough, Hillsboro Hyundai!!!!!

    I typically don't write reviews but I found my experience at Dicks awesome. Alex Rowe and Gary Ransier made my purchase of a new Elantra one of the easiest ever. They really are professional and honest. I know saying a car salesman is honest? But totally great and stayed with me the entire process. I was not handed off to anyone and no high pressure. I highly recommend them both!

    We had already done our homework and knew we wanted a Hyundai - either a Santa Fe or a Tuscon. Prices were competitive among several local dealerships. We chose to go to Dick's because they are locally owned and appreciate the ways they support the community. Our salesperson was Clint Gorbett. The sales communication with Clint was clear, concise and we were offered the opportunity to bring the car home so that we could confirm whether it would fit in the garage. The car was prepped and cleaned. All items were explained and the gas tank was completely filled when we left the lot that day. The sales transaction itself was extremely efficient thanks to both Clint and Bill in Finance and the follow up has been wonderful. Easiest experience buying a car that we ever had! We have already recommended Dick's to family members.
