Passive Aggressive
by schoecmr on 12/22/2013updated 06/13/2025My goal was to buy and negotiate a new 2013 Honda Accord online thru email due to my schedule. Unfortunately, I was unable to do this with Jeff Wyler Honda Colerain. I dealt exclusively with Conrad B. I received a decent initial price… quote from Jeff Wyler Colerain. When I explained I received a better offer from a competing dealer, they stated they would absolutely beat the price and asked me to print off the quote and bring to the dealership. I politely requested that Conrad give me a quote online and send me an official offer via PDF file. I was told that he was not permitted due to this because it was against company policy (Jeff Wyler) to go lower than initial internet pricing unless it was in person at the dealership. I explained that several other dealerships (Performance and Kings Honda) had given me PDF official offers and hoped that they could do the same. Here was part of Conrad's response - "I can appreciate your position. I apoligize. We make it easy. You bring your quote with you and we beat it. It's that easy. I guess there is a reason why you don't want to do this but I'm not sure why. We will make it worth your while for stopping out." Then, I politely thanked him and stated I understand that he could not compete for my business. Conrad then stated, " I can compete and I WILL get you the best price by hundreds of dollars but I need you to bring these quotes in that you have. That's all. It's that easy. If it's this easy, I am confused why someone wouldn't take 15 minutes out of their schedule to save hundreds of dollars. You can bring them in on your phone or print them out. When someone isn't willing to do this to save additional money, there must be a reason. Thanks for the opportunity." I explained to him my reasoning for negotiating thru email and sent him the breakdown of the other dealer's OTD price. Finally, he explained that he thought I was using him as leverage to negotiate with other dealers and would not send me another offer thru email. I understand why dealership and Conrad wanted to get me into the dealership, but his tone was fairly passive aggressive and not polite. They wanted me in their in order for them to get the best price and did not want to lose my business. It is much harder for me to negotiate with other dealers if I have to physically drive and speak to each one. The internet / email negotiation takes away much of the control and ability to make the most money for the dealers. I would not recommend Jeff Wyler if you would like to negotiate online.New Car Purchase - Internet Team

They were extremely helpful and went the extra steps to win my business. The experience was about as painless as it could be. They gave me a… best and final price (which was very aggressive) and that was their best price. This eliminated the typical back and forth and I felt good that they offered an unbeatable price from the start. I would recommend them to any new or used car buyers. They buying experience was outstanding.Excellent Salesmanship

We told him what I was looking for; a reliable car that would fit a college student's… budget. He was extremely amiable in our price negotiation, very knowledgeable about the products and what they did and didn't have available, and quite eager to help us on our decision-making. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience car shopping at this dealership with Matt.Very satisfied with purchase of CR-V

Dan was very professional and personable. He also was very knowledgeable about my particular model. He made… sure the process of purchasing the vehicle was very quick and painless. He got me over to Sean in finance very quickly. Sean was equally as professional and personable as Dan. He was very thorough in explaining what each form was for and answered all my questions. The financing was very quick and effortless. After the financing, the car was ready for me and Dan showed me all the features and how to set everything up. Dan was very knowledgeable about all the features my new CR-V. I was very happy with very aspect of the experience. I will definitely go back and buy from them again!Thank you for the new Civic :)

Several other members of the sales staff were always gracious and helpful. The sales manager Matt B. was… extremely professional and courteous. We love Wyler Honda - we are treated with respect, no pressure to buy NOW and none of the games you get at other dealerships when you sit down to negotiate a… price. Wyler always has a great selection of new cars, they are patient while we figure out what we want to buy, they don't try to convince us to buy a car or options we don't want, and we always get a fair price. That's why we started shopping at Wyler and that's why we continue to go back when we need a car. Al Sanders was our Sales Consultant for the Pilot. He was great!! He was patient and extremely knowledgeable about the Honda as well as the competition. (I know he wants to sell a Honda but he did not bad mouth other make vehicles we considered.) He checked in with us after the sale to make sure we are happy with our purchase and to make sure any questions were answered or issues were resolved (we had no issues - it's a Honda!). Recently were looking for a used vehicle. After spending a couple days chasing down Craigslist dead ends, we called Al. He stayed in constant contact with us as cars became available at Wyler - sent us pictures and videos. Wow, what service. In short, we would highly recommend you call Al if you need a car.
