They lied to you to get you to sign the paperwork.
by dontbuytoyotas on 06/05/2015Less than three weeks ago my sister asked me to help her cosign for a car at Toyota Modern. When we arrived to the dealership we talked about it, and agreed that I was going to be the cosigner. Then the financing guy came and said that I… was going to be the primary in a fast mumble-ling way. So we immediately stopped him and said, wait, I'm the cosigner she's the buyer. He quickly responded, "yes, she's the buyer and you are the cosigner'. So we said, "as long as that is clear then let's proceed". So he went and did the paperwork, the salesman came and said the same thing, (about me being the primary/buyer on the loan) and we immediately stopped him and told him the same thing we told the financing guy. He quickly retracted himself and said, "yes, yes, you are the cosigner and she's the buyer". Then we went to sign for the paperwork and the financing guy asked me to sign 3 different forms/contracts, and asked me to sign on the buyer signature line. So we immediately ask, "why are you asking me to sign here if she is the buyer". So he said, "is just part of the procedure. Don't worry, you will only appear as the cosigner". I was dumb and believed him and signed the three forms. (My sister signed the rest of the paperwork). I was not given any types of copies, (loans, car registration, etc...). I was not told that I was approved for a loan. He told my sister that "she has been approved for her loan". Then 2 weeks later I get a letter from the bank congratulating me on my new car. I then find out that my name is on the loan as the primary. I'm not upset about being the primary but being lied to in order for them to sell the car. If I would've known that they were doing that, I would've had gotten a better deal on my own. (By the way, my name is not even on the car's registration card). I found out this is a normal procedure were the person with the best credit becomes the primary. This was not explained to me at any time. This is why I've never owned a Toyota in my life. Great cars, but the people that work for them are not trustworthy.Untrustworthy dealership
by TGolbus on 06/04/2015Drove over 90 minutes to look at a car that they assured me was there and ready. They called someone else to pressure them into the sale and it was being negotiated with them as we walked in. They knew we were on our way, didn't even call… us to let us know. They are very slow at taking down cars that sold - 3 others we were interested in and listed online weren't available either. They try to just get you in to pressure you into something. We will never go back there.We are sorry to hear that you had this experience. It was not our intent to have you travel under false pretenses as that is not our practice. There was a customer who previously inquired on the vehicle you came to see and they drove back in without prior notification to complete their purchase. We strive to eliminate this problem, however due to the timing of your visit and the other customers we were unable to communicate to you their intentions to purchase. Modern Toyota takes responsibility for the situation and we are more than happy to compensate you for your time or to procure another vehicle for you on a "not for profit basis". Fabulous Experience
by Thegabriels3 on 03/22/2015We just purchased our new Highlander Saturday and couldn't be more pleased with our experience at Modern Toyota. After completing some initial research online, I was contacted by Michelle and set up an appointment to look at some… Highlanders and test drive them. We met Dan at the dealership, and he took us on our test drive. From the very beginning, Dan was friendly, funny and completely upfront and honest about all the options the car I was interested in did and didn't have. After finally selecting the car we wanted, the negotiation process began, and it was the most painless one I have ever been through. Yates, the finance manager was also wonderful to work with. He explained every detail of the extended warranties and took his time answering all of our questions. He is hilarious and so down to earth and truly gave his honest opinions about all the options. What impressed us the most, was even after the sale was complete and all the paperwork had been signed, Dan personally walked us through the entire set up of all the bells and whistles the Highlander offered. He set up our Entune account, showed me how to operate the Bluetooth in the car, etc. On our drive home, my cell phone rang which came through on the car speakers and it was Dan!! He actually called us just to check in and make sure our drive home was going well! I have never experienced that level of service anywhere! I do not know when we will be in the market for another new or even used car, but I do know this, the next car we buy will be a Toyota and it will be from Dan with Modern Toyota! The entire team there is top notch, everyone we encountered there on Saturday was very friendly, unintimidating and most importantly honest. If your in the market for a car, do yourself a favor and go immediately to Modern Toyota, I can assure you, you will not be disappointed! Alessandra and Andy GabrielWow. The Best
by Brian_M on 01/19/2015My initial email inquiry was handled quickly and efficiently by Corinna in the internet sales department. The same can't be said for other dealers I contacted. This, and the positive reviews from actual customers (friends of mine) lead me… to Modern. I set up an appointment for 10 am on Saturday and was greeted promptly by Gopal Chandarana. I was upfront with Gopal about what I wanted and what I expected. He was very down to earth, easy to talk to. I had financing secured prior to shopping and asked Gopal to see if Modern's team could beat my rate. I had a low rate to begin with and they beat it anyway! We came to within $300 of the purchase price I had budgeted. No hassles whatsoever. There was no pressure at any point. No games. I was in and out in about 3 hours on a busy Saturday. Judy, in the finance office, was patient and kind as well. I never felt trapped, had my keys and drivers license the entire time, and was able to stay relaxed the entire time. After the sale, Gopal set up my Bluetooth connection and explained the features of the car. I can't say enough about how important it is for dealerships to make you feel welcome and not feel like a number. Thanks to Gopal and the staff at Modern Toyota!Thanks for the outstanding feedback. Great Car Buying Experience

Our sales person was Nancy Smith. She took time to answer all of our… questions about the Prius and the new electronics that are on most cars these days. Nancy was earnest in learning about our needs and interests in a vehicle, and providing options to meet those needs. She was also responsive and accommodating with appointment times. We did our research and felt that we got a good price, plus a good value for our trade-in. Car buying has changed for the better since we last purchased a car and it is much more customer service focused than it was in the past -- it was truly a pleasant experience.Best Car Dealership of the Triad

I have been looking for a few months for the right car for me and my mini me and Daniel Perryman did everything he could to get it for us! I dont have the best credit in the world but… the finance team did everything they could and got me in a brand new Corolla! not even anything close to what I was looking for but I found the perfect one in the perfect color and i am IN LOVE with it! The entire team was AMAZING and so honest and comforting! I have never had customer service this great in my life! An actual pleasant car buying experience

Yet, thanks to Dan S, this experience was completely different in a good… way. Dan went above and beyond to make sure he found the vehicle that was going to best suit my needs along with my desires. Additionally, he worked to get me a great deal that matched or beat Modern's competitors. Thankfully, this was a good experience with no pressure, and I am not leaving this time with the feeling like I was taken advantage of because I was female. He was honest, helpful and treated my husband and I like we… were old friends. He took extra time and care with us when we went on our test drive, making sure we understood all the features and advantages of the Prius V, by the time we pulled back into the lot I knew this was the car for me. When we went back to his desk to discuss finances I never felt pressure and he worked with management to get us the best deal.
