  • horrible place to buy your first car.

1 out of 5 starsby lanaboo on 05/26/2009

bought a honda accord 09 in april. gave me test driven car, not completely new, on lot - rushed me to drive it off the lot. promised to give me the back spoiler, all season floor mats, and another valet key because they didnt give it to me initially. they never called for an appointment and i had to really push to get them to do that. later, after the service appt and all was done, i still didnt get my 2nd valet key and found a dent on the underside of the passenger's side. talked down to my parents, discriminating them like it was their job. they even bluffed and told my mother to get a lawyer. so they basically spited my car with the dent, discriminated my parents and me, made false promises, and were completely rude and relentless about their objective to make money and sell the damn car. don't come here. i'm warning you lucky ones who havent gone there. please dont. the people that had made positive comments here are most likely the people at VIP honda themselves. they said they had done that to several sites. better never than sorry.

  • Satisfied with VIP service

I was looking for 2008 4WD Honda CR-V EX. Got internet quotes from 4 Honda Dealers including VIP Honda. VIP's quote (given by Maria and confired by her supervisor George) was the lowest. In fact was a $1000 to $1500 less. Went in the show room where slaes person Kyle Eatman helped us. Test drove the CR-V. The CR-V deal went by smoothly. But had to haggle a lot when it came to my trade-in (they where offering less money). but when they offered two accessories free (Remote engine start and day/night rear view mirror with compass) I was a satisfied. They kept my CR-V for two day to fix the accessories (including backup sensors which i paid for) and gave me a loaner car (Accord V-6) Overall I had a good experience at VIP Honda

  • Purchase based on lies

    2.8 out of 5 starsby gmar5684 on 08/20/2008

I purchased a supposedly BRAND NEW Honda Civic from this dealer in June. About two weeks later I started hearing a noise in the front end every time I turned the wheel all the way in either direction. I assumed the noise was simply the car breaking in. However, to my dismay when my car was recently detailed at the dealership that I work at it was discovered that PRIOR TO MY PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE there was body work done on the front bumper. The bumper was not even painted correctly, as there is NO CLEAR COAT on part of it. There is even a spot that's missing paint completely. Tape was left behind the bumper where it had been taped off to repaint, and there is overspray everywhere. The bumper does not even sit correctly as there is a clip completely missing. I understand that there are laws that state that a dealership does not have to legally disclose damage that was under a certain amount, however this was the VERY FIRST vehicle I was shown, and if I hadn't been rushed out of the lot I would have had more of an opportunity to go over the vehicle and would NEVER have taken delivery of it. Buy elsewhere.

  • BUYERS BEWARE OF VIP HONDA

    1 out of 5 starsby matthew123 on 08/19/2008

We went to the VIP Honda dealership in North Plainfield this week. We called the sales person to tell her we are coming and when we showed up she never came to say hello. Instead some other guy named Ryan said he would help us. He did something on his calculator and gave us a number which we were not so satisfied with. When we gave him a counter offer, he looked at it and rudely said "You can leave" or in other words to GET OUT. He was so rude and had so much attitude. We left and called the lady(Maria) we spoke to and she said she was working with customers who actually bought cars and that we were not the only customers she has and also mentioned that she understands why Ryan asked us to leave. THIS PLACE HAS THE WORST SALESMEN AND THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. TEHY DON'T KNOW WHAT IS SELLING AND IF THERE IS NO NEGOTIATION THEY SHOULD PUT A PRICE TAG ON THEIR VEHICLES AND LET CUSTOMERS SHOP FOR THEMSELVES. THERE IS NO NEED FOR SALESMEN. READING THE OTHER REVIEWS WE ARE GLAD WE DID NOT BUY OUR VEHICLE FROM THEM. . I think HONDA needs to know what kind of dealers these people are.

  • Typical Highway Dealership Thinks a Customers are Ignorant

I went there to test drive a Civic EX-L. They didn't have any in stock and right away the sloppy, unkempt salesman started asking for a $500 dollar deposit, even after I told him I wasn't going to leave a deposit for a car they didn't have. Then the "manager" (wow, I'm impressed) told me that the the deposit was to cover their effort in obtaining the vehicle. Geez, $500 to do their jobs -- 20 minutes worth of phone call! Ridiculous. Not to mention that the showroom had loud music playing as if the music would get your adrenaline up and would make you want to buy a car. Joe Isuzu would get [violative content deleted] from the cliche ridden store. After I walked out I rececived several messages from a female employee on my cell asking how my visit went and when would I be coming back...try never. [violative content deleted]

  • Worst Car Buying Experience

1 out of 5 starsby harishkapoor on 04/25/2008

I went to this dealership with my Nine month pragnant wife with a checkbook in my pocket at around 8:30 P.M on 04/23/08 , after getting quotes and written email confirmationand verbal confirmation from George (Internet sales manager) about the price. I was told that the car can not be sold at that price. The new price offered was $28,135 while confirmed price was $27121 I am very disappointed and won't recommend anybody ever to your dealership. I am surprised that in this slowing economy these guys are mistreating their customers who are bringing business to dealership. Concerned officer should take appropriate steps to improve.
    • Our records show (date/time stamped) that multiple trim levels of Odyssey were in question as well as the possible inclusion of a blue tooth system. When Mr. Kapoor arrived, there was obviously confusion regarding which price was for which Odyssey, with the lowest price being applied to the highest trim level in question. A great deal was on the table for Mr. Kapoor regardless of trim level, which he unfortunately chose to walk away from.

  • Not so good

    2 out of 5 starsby kw9 on 03/18/2008

Bought used car over internet - smooth process until after sale. Have been waiting 12 days (8 business week days) for them to get me the title so I can register and pickup the car. Crazy amount of time for a car dealer to get a car title. I'm buried in emails thanking me for sale and offering extended contracts etc but I can't get the car from them. I paid $269 for documentation fees yet can't get the documents from them. Back office full of excuses - I just want the car I paid for in full 12 days and counting ago!!!!! A lot of promises but no delivery.
    • Unfortunately, there are delays in retrieving the title for a vehicle that had a pay-off on it. The lienholder has to release the title once the vehicle has been paid off by the dealer. Once this occurs, the title has to updated to reflect the dealers involvement and finally, the current buyer. This can take weeks at a minimum to occur regardless of where this vehicle was purchased. No dealer can be blamed for this lengthy process.

  • VIP Honda - Highly recommended!

4.8 out of 5 starsby dtannenbaum on 02/15/2008

I just leased an '08 Pilot EX-L and was very pleased with VIP. I researched the truck extensively and had gotten several internet quotes from VIP and other dealers. VIP's price was extremely competitive, the staff was friendly and helpful, and VIP answered all my questions in the weeks it took me to research the Pilot. I was well aware of current lease incentives and I got a great deal.
  • VIPHONDA - Impressive sales and staff - I would recommend this dealer

I rececntly bought a Honda Civic from VIPHonda dealer and I am very pleased with their service. The guys were friendly and treat you well. The dealer did not have the color I wanted, so they checked their system and promised me a delivery on Saturday. They kept their promise and provided me the VIN much before the delivery so that I can sort the auto insurance. My experience with VIPHonda has been very good and I would recommend the dealer to anyone planning to buy a Honda.
  • Another Lying Dealer

2.5 out of 5 starsby kawochan on 01/18/2008

I was Hunting my honda Fit in Orange color, and this dealer's web site tells ture story with VIN number reference on their inventory. Not like some Dealer will lie to u saying they have the color u wanted, but they dont. Had a deal ($500 off) with the internet sales person before i go. The Nightmare starts here. I took 2 hours from NY to there. When I arrived, it was already 8:00 pm and they are about to close. The Sales Manger named Paul Santiago saw I like the color so much, and most other dealers dont have it. He said the internet sales is not here, and he is the one in charge here. He said he can not do this deal for me. I asked him to borrow the PC for a print out of wht the sales had sent me on e-mail. He said their computer can not check e-mail... can u believe it?!?! How could they send me e-mail without internet access?! He said what he can do is $16070 ($0 discount). He think he can get me, just because i like the color so much, and drive 2 hours here? NO WAY! I asked for his business card, and run away. He was little shock. The next day, the internet sales called me what happened yesterday. I know is not the internet department's mistake, But I will not spend another 2 hours to take another risk.
    • Customer tried to get an internet quote from our dealership and use ANOTHER dealership's $500 off any purchase internet coupon. When we would not honor another store's coupon with our current bottom line deal, the family of 3 was not pleased and felt as if they had some form of leverage to unfortunately argue about an already super-aggressive internet quote. VIP Honda holds true to their internet quotes and a superb deal was left on the table that evening.

They were very up front with us. We wanted the Accor HYbrid except in white or black. We received a gray car even though they told us we would get a silver version. We're happy with the graqy and the service and delivery has been excellent.
  • Avoid VIP Honda

I recently purchased used Honda Odyssey from VIP Honda and had a bitter experience. Reasons mentioned below 1. Dealer purchases doesn't give any guarantee all needed basics as they sell "Non Certified cars" in 'AS IS' but way higher price than Edmunds recommend price 2. No Ethics 3. Lack of respect to customers 4. False Promises I recommend people to avoid or get all the things you are getting on Paper as they never stick to their promises.

I just leased a new CR-V from VIP Honda, and the experience was better than those I’ve had at other dealerships. I went in knowing exactly what I wanted, and they did not try to pressure me into unnecessary upgrades or anything like that. They answered all my questions, and the finance department was great at working with my budget. I definitely think they’re one of the better Honda dealerships in Central Jersey.
