by Dave on 08/08/2024t. Alex was my salesperson He lied about the value of my trade. He lied about the value of the Integra that I purchased. Lied about the maintenance free package. On and on it went. I've been in touch with these people least 50… times since my purchase and each time they try to " find an equitable solution" it ends with me getting ripped off again. I've also been in touch with Acura on a corporate level multiple times throughout this nightmare only to be told that the dealerships operate independently and they can only suggest that they do the right thing. They can however hand out platinum team awards. " Acuras highest honor". Basically it's a built in excuse to rip people off. You'll see all the negative reviews of this dealership are followed by the sales manager Bob referencing this award. If you're on the fence please do yourself a favor and go anywhere else.
Great dealership, very pleased with my experience

He had the car I wanted shipped to Sunnyside from another dealership, held it aside for me, and gave me an incredibly reasonable price for it. I like that… I didn't have to negotiate. Our trip to the dealership was very quick and my car was ready for me in a couple of hours. I am very happy with my purchase.Thanks Alexander!

When they consistently kept giving me (the owner) a lesser payoff than you (the dealership), he found a way to help me turn in my lease by working around… the complication. Mike is the consummate professional and made every aspect of my experience absolutely… comfortable. He is personable, helpful, low pressure, completely informed of all aspects of the vehicle, and more than willing to put forth any amount of extra effort that is needed, whether it be running to the back lot to check out another color option, or spending time helping me get my presets/bluetooth hooked up in the car. As an independent young woman who handles business affairs on my own, I felt completely respected and at ease in this dealership, which has not always been the case in the past with other car buying experiences elsewhere. Frustrating at first but then smooth sailing

However, after posting our concerns we had a great experience with upper management who saved the day. We ended up purchasing a new vehicle rather than the used vehicle we originally… selected. Everyone we worked with was very accommodating, helpful and most pleasant. I wish these same individuals worked on the day of our first visit. He treated me with respect and understood my frustrations. Al in the service department.… He is such a nice guy, he looks you in the eyes when he is talking to you. He said that he personally inspected my car that I wanted to purchase. He treats the cars as though he is selling them to a family member. I really appreciated his kind words. Rachel was great with returning my calls and communicating with me on her day off. Although there was some miscommunication on her end as to what the dealership could give me for my car. But hey, you guys have the secretary do the work for you not your sales guys. What can you expect. Sean was very nice about setting up my phone to Bluetooth, programing my home address into GPS and my test drive with him was good.We truly appreciate you taking the time to leave us this great feedback! A painless buying experience; just do your homework first
by smc123 on 12/03/2007After two months of researching cars, I decided that I definitely wanted a new or almost-new base Acura TL. I visited two dealerships to test drive but was not impressed with how I was treated at either dealership. (I am female, and at each… location, the salesman shook my boyfriend's hand first and addressed him first. It was odd to me that they would automatically assume my boyfriend was the one making the purchase.) A family friend then referred me to Sunnyside Acura. I emailed the sales manager and he promptly responded, and had one of his top salespersons, Kris, follow up with me. She initially quoted me a very fair price over email, but I felt I could get a bit closer to invoice, and after a few days she offered to take a bit more money off. She was very upfront about the quote and any fees I would have to pay (which was just a documentation fee--no other fees--and was a decent price as far as doc fees go). We exchanged several emails and she was extremely responsive and prompt, and answered all of my questions. Once I was comfortable with the quote/fees, I called her to schedule a time to come in and test drive and potentially buy the car. She gave me her schedule and noted that she could be flexible with her time, and gave me her cell number as well. When I went in to test drive the car (I decided on an 08 base TL), it went smoothly and both she and her sales manager also inspected the car thoroughly to ensure everything was in perfect condition. We quickly went over the quote/fee we had discussed over email--everything remained the same as it had over email. No surprises whatsoever. Then I was escorted to the finance room. When I went in I immediately noted that I wouldn't be buying anything from them and so the gentleman sped through what they offer and did not try to convince me to buy any of these extras. I did ask him some questions about the extended warranty and he took quite a bit of money off for me, and because I did not want to buy the warranty that day, he made a note in his file that the price would remain the same until one month from that time. He also said he could possibly get his manager to take more money off--although I still have to call him and see what is possible there! :) Once I signed on the dotted line, Kris took a lot of time explaining the various features of the car to me, even sitting with me in the car and helping me program all of the settings to my specifications. She also went through the different manuals/booklets with me and asked me a few times if I was feeling comfortable with all of the information, etc. Kris and others from Sunnyside have emailed me a few times since my purchase four days ago, and Kris has repeated that I should feel free to contact her at any time if I had concerns or questions about my car. As my friend said to me, Sunnyside is truly one of the last small dealerships that actually seems to care about their customers. I would recommend this dealership to anyone seriously considering an Acura. My advice to any person in the market for a car would be to use wonderful websites and resources such as Edmunds.com (I can't tell you HOW many times I used this website over the past couple of months!) to educate yourself about fair prices, how to negotiate, and simply to remember that you are the one in charge of the buying process. I feel that this will help any potential buyer at any dealership--especially upstanding dealerships such as Sunnyside Acura.Sales Manager

The sales manager (I cannot recall his name) was very professional and did not haggle me over the gymnastics of the price, but rather took the time to… compare/contrast both the retail price of the new car relative to the retail price of my trade-in. Since the purchase of the car Ive been very pleased. I had one issue (with something outside of the car and service) which Kris and the service department addressed and exceeded my satisfaction. I wish all car dealerships worked this well.
