  • Liars. Be VERY wary of this dealership

1 out of 5 starsby Ryan Fockler on 09/27/2024

I visited last week after being referred through the Costco Auto program. I verified that the salesman I was speaking with was trained in the costco agreement and asked for the price sheet. The salesman, Tim Land, told me that there was $9,000 in rebates for me (I found out later that this is the federal rebate and a non-GM owner rebate) and that the Costco Agreement was part of that. Total lie. He wanted to charge me 54,000 plus taxes and fees. I called Costco and they verified that Tim was lying to me...that the agreement was $500 below MSRP at this dealership for Costco members. They told me to demand the sheet and all of a sudden $12,000 came off the price. That is how much Tims lie would've cost me had I not checked. This is a very dishonest dealership.

Long story, Saw a 2009 Cobalt SS on the lot and wanted it. Vic and Julio, extremley pleasant salesmen to deal with. My license was expired so I could not test drive it. Vic asked me to renew the license and please come back. I went back and the car wasn't there, they thought it was in the body shop. Went back a few more times. Car was finally back, not at body shop, but at auction. The car experienced minor body damage at the lot. Vic and Julio bending over backwards to keep me coming back. I went in on a Friday night and asked twice for Vic or Julio, Rich said he could help me and that the other 2 weren't in. I asked if they got credit for the sale and Rich said nothing, I asked again and a sales mangager overheard me and said they would get the credit. Rich didn't seem to like this at all. It was an unpleasant evening for me as Rich and his sales manager, the dark haired Hawaiian guy tried to give me nothing for my trade in and tried their best to piss me off. I would have walked out but already had made up my mind that I wanted this car despite Rich's best effort. I ended up walking out that night because they couldn't meet my "Numbers" The amazing thing is, I wasn't surprised at all by their voicemail the next day saying they could meet my numbers. All in all an unpleasant buying experience, probalbly part my fault for not standing my ground and getting the right salesman(should I have to) or just walking away. Vic and Julio, Thanks for Trying. Rich, never mind. The only reason I will go back is because Chuck Brown in Service has provided the best customer service I have ever received. He has helped out with my previous vehicles that I purchased there and my kids car also. Buying a car should not be this diffficult.
  • Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere

My wife and I were in the market for two full sized 2008 trucks, and we were interested in taking advantage of Chevrolet's excellent rebates/cash back offers that were available at the time. We walked into the dealer and were treated nicely by the sales people that greeted us outside. We viewed a few trucks and decided to try and get a bottom-line price on one of them. We were escorted into an office and asked to take a seat. We had brought details of the offers Chevrolet was advertising on its website with us. This is where the service got bad. In walked a pacific-islander looking gentleman, slightly balding, if I remember correctly. He brought in pricing information on the truck 1st truck we were looking at but it did not match the offers Chevrolet was advertising. We questioned this and that's when this guy went haywire. He told us that the dealership could do what they wanted to, and they wouldn't honor the cash back/rebate price advertised. We were astounded at his delivery (very rude and condescending). Disappointed at the situation (we really liked the truck) we asked if we could be shown something else. He told us "We have nothing for YOU here". I said "excuse me", and he made it obvious that we wouldn't be shown any other vehicles. My wife and I were flabergasted and just looked at each other. I'm still amazed when I think about it. If the boss knew how customers were being treated I'm sure the guy would be looking for another job. Anyway, we [went to another dealership] and bought our two trucks.
  • Downright rude!

2 out of 5 starsby drhawc on 10/04/2008

I must say this was the rudest experience I have had in my 50 years of car shopping. Absolutely no play in their game. I sat down to deal on a car I liked and he gave me no room to manuever. This was not an incenitve deal we wee talking sticker price, and in this environment I was shocked and walked right out the door. This dealer has a reputation for shady practices and my visit did not help in that perception, had I not wanted "that" car I would not have even gone in. Never again!
    • I bought a used 2005 chevy avalanche, it was 1030pm when I drove off with it and noticed the oli pressure gauge was at 0. I notified the guy that sold me the truck and he said to come in monday, (I bought it sat night). When I went in monday, the lot manager came in and said because I bought it used and the lot took a loss on it ( Yea Right ) that they couldn't fix it, and that it was noted in the 54 point inspection that the gauge didn't work, so they knowingly put a vehicle on the lot with a broken gauge. Oh and the 2400.00 warrenty I bought....yea, didn't cover that part, go figure. The only person that even went to bat for me was the finance guy. I looked up the part at NAPA auto parts and its only 61.99 and the location of the oil pressure sensor is right on top of the motor, wouldn't take more that 10 to 20 minutes to replace, but I guess they would rather replace the motor ( Thats covered on the warrenty ) than a 61.99 part. All in all I will never buy a car from them again, I put them right there with Internet-auto rent and sales, and I will be sure to put it out by word of mouth to never go there to buy a car.

    • We probably dealt with the same unprofessional person. We walked out too and purchased our two vehicles from a dealership a bit more interested in actually selling and maintaining customers for life.

I paid $140.00 for an oil change. Needless to say, I miss trusting my Chevy's to Henderson Chevy in Henderson, Nevada. Stay away from Chumpion's service department.

We were treated well and with respect. We bought the car at a fair price, and we did our research first. The hagling and paperwork time spent was a little lengthy. But isn't it always?

Had an appointment for routine service at 1:30PM. Finally got the vehicle back 4:45PM. No one at anytime came to make an explanation or was an appoligy given for taking so long.
