by rob_macdonald on 08/30/2012updated 06/10/2025If you want an excellent car buying experience..CHOOSE COON RAPIDS NISSAN....I'm a Canadian and had been shopping for a US vehicle (a Nissan in particular), which involves a few extra hoops to jump through. I had made at least 50 requests… over a 2 month period to many dealers across the US...I can honestly say that I was blown away by the attentive service received by this dealership...from the beginning...Jake (Jacob) Nicholson was fantastic to deal with. He's an amazing salesman and a nice person....he and all his team (including Blake Simmons) were fantastic.....JUST GO TO COON RAPIDS!! I don't write many reviews...however felt that Coon Rapids Nissan deserved kudos!! Thanks.Hi Rob and thanks for this fantastic review! Terry is very knowledgeable and very professional. He took extra time to to show me all my… cars features and made sure I knew my car before taking it home. I also worked with the used car sales manager who appraised my trade in. I felt Mark did his homework on my trade and gave me a fair price. I plan to use Coon Rapids Nissan for my service needs as well. I truly feel everyone I met was kind, professional and a joy to work with. Unfortunately, my great experience ended here. After driving 1 1/2 hours on a Saturday with 3 young kids, I… encountered Scott T., the finance manager, bad mouthing me to a colleague in the Customer Lounge area. Obviously unaware that I was at the dealership I asked him "would you prefer that I go to another dealership". I was and am still furious. If it weren't for the time that Jake had put in or the long drive I just subjected my familty to I would have left immediately. I had bought a brand new car from VW of Invergrove Heights three weeks prior and they were awesome. They also valued my trade $1,800 higher than Coon Rapids Nissan. I will never buy or visit Coon Rapids Nissan again. The customer is the reason we all have jobs. Regardless of the situation or how difficult a customer makes your job, publicly disparaging a customer is inexcusable.
