Friendly and helpful sale staff

This is the second car that I've purchased from Colonial, and the first new one. They were accommodating both times, very friendly, and nice to work with. This is one of the first places that I would send people in the market for a car. Pierre Saliba is the agent that worked with me, and he was friendly and capable. Definitely recommend!

Peter Esposito found me the exact car that I wanted and was able to take my trade as well as give me a good price on the new car. I would recommend asking for him at the dealership as he is strait forward, time sensitive and friendly. I will go back to him for my next car.

Bad customer service. Concealing details.

This is my only bad buying experience so far in the history of buying used cars. I bought a 2013 Beetle-sport edition. I live in Indiana and bought this car in person on May 30th. The day I bought it, my car didn't show any damage on it. When I received the delivery of my car on June 10th, it had some cosmetic damage on it. The delivery guy handed over a flip sheet to me which was signed by the dealership before the car was shipped that clearly mentioned that the damage existed when it was being shipped. When I called and spoke to the sales rep, he mentioned to me that the delivery guys are very cautious and no damage could have occurred in transit thus helping me prove my point that the damage occurred between the date of purchase and the day it was shipped. I have images to prove that the damage did not exist when I bought it which I have also shared with the dealership. It has been close to two months of emailing/following up and no one wants to own up this responsibility of the damage that occurred at the dealership after I bought it. I was asked to email the General Manager who mentioned to me that used cars always have some issues with them and I think I as a consumer had a right to know all the defects before I bought it if any existed. The issue in question here is that the damage did not exist when I bought the car and the dealership wants me to be satisfied with a response that used cars always have issues. I was happy with how they handled my out of state registration process and I give them credit for that but I cannot ignore the damage. I have a right to receive the goods in the same condition as I bought it in or be compensated for the loss which was not pre-existing. I for sure am a dissatisfied customer and cannot trust the credibility of this dealership. Also, there was a difference in the information provided for this car on cars.com versus what we were told at the dealership.

Let me start by saying that this was my first time buying a car. I went to multiple dealerships, but Colonial Volkswagon had the most professional and the friendliest atmosphere. Tim Barnes helped me choose the right vehicle. Overall, I was very pleased.

Car leasing turn in/new lease

I enjoyed working with Colonial Volkswagen in leasing my new car. I wish I had come here to get my previous VW! Tim Barnes was easy to work with and very knowledgable about every part of the leasing/buying process, which took a lot of stress off me. I've walked out of many car dealers buying nothing, but the staff at Colonial was fair and respectful. I would come back again.

I recently turned over my VW lease for another lease; I was very pleased with how the process went. I was able to get everything I wanted in the car. I have worked with Tim Barnes before, so I knew I would be dealing with an honest sales consultant. He was able to provide updates on the stages of the process and made sure that every detail I wanted was met. The Colonial crew as a whole has done a great job with previous VW cars I have had and they do take care of you. In the end, I would definitely go back to VW Colonial to purchase another car and recommend them to anyone who wants German engineering!

I came to Colonial Volkswagen to look at the new 2015 Passat. I was introduced to Tim Barnes one of the salesman. Tim showed me a Passat and explained all of trim levels "S" "SE" & "SEL" and described them all to me in detail. After driving the SE Passat and talking for a bit I decided to go through with the purchase. I now happily own a Gas engine 2015 Passat SE. During the process I was introduced to Tony a sale manager who was also very kind. They were very helpful with my trade in and gave me a very reasonable valuation on it. I love the product so much that my girlfriend decided to switch from her Honda and purchase a "4-Motion" Tiguan. She and I are very satisfied and the entire buying process was professional, informative and free of pressure tactics. If you are reading this & considering stopping in to check out a Volkswagen I strongly recommend that you do. I also would strongly suggest you deal with Tim for your purchase. He really knows the product well and knows how to put you into the right car and trim level for your needs and or budget. Overall two truly exceptional purchases. Both on the same day might I add.

After purchasing a new 2015 VW Passat from Tim Barnes at Colonial VW this afternoon, I am hesitant to give Tim and Colonial a "5-star" rating. In reality, Tim and the team at Colonial went far above and beyond providing "5-star" service, and greatly exceeded my expectations, even in light of the fact that this is the second time that I have purchased a car from Tim. I stopped by Colonial during the afternoon on Memorial Day; although the dealership was extremely busy, Tim took the time to show me several new Volkswagens despite knowing that I hadn't been planning on purchasing a vehicle that day. Instead of trying to push me into buying a more expensive car, Tim got me a great deal on exactly the car I wanted (with a manual transmission!!), and got the deal finalized early the next morning. I would wholeheartedly recommend that anyone shopping for a new or pre-owned VW visit Tim at Colonial VW, and can say that I wouldn't shop for a Volkswagen anywhere else.

Needed to swap out my lease

We leased a new 2014 Jetta TDI in May '14, this car had some dash rattle problems (which were fixed), but the base of the back seat belts would always sink into the bench when trying to buckle both my daughters into their car seats. So much so that an adult had to buckle them in while holding the base with one hand, each and every time. After 8 month we had had enough of doing this. I expressed my displeasure with my salesman (Rick Dolliver), and he worked with management to swap us out to a Passat without incurring any extra fees of any kind, and keeping our monthly payment the same. This was our first foray into VW, and we were about to never consider VW every again, yet Rick and Colonial management's work, not only kept us happy, but earned our VW loyalty for years to come. Thank you everyone involved for making this work for us.

Called and was told a car was available but needed to be cleaned off so to come at 2 by Jeff the internet sales manager. When I arrived the car had been sold because someone was already buying it when I had called but Jeff did not tell me this and wanted me to come to the dealership anyway to buy a car and lied to me telling me it was under snow and thats why I could not look at it sooner, he also lied to me after knowing I was more than an hour drive away very rude. Once I dealt with sales I bought a new car being so frustrated with the whole ordeal to find a new car with 14 miles on it to have so much damage to the bumper from sitting in the lot it has to be replaced and I have to go back up within a week to have my car fixed for a day then come back up to pick it up. The whole reason I bought a new car was to avoid this.

my wife and I were able to lease a beautiful new volkswagon and refinance our existing vehicle in order to keep our payments reasonable. Our Sales consultant Pierre was a true gentleman and the most kind and caring sales person that I've come across in my 30+ years of buying cars (or buying anything for that matter). Tiguan + Brendan C + Colonial = Winning Combo

Brendan C knows the meaning of customer service and practices it. He listened attentively and then worked diligently to fulfill my requirements. I am especially grateful for his patience with my many telephone calls and questions and for his helpfulness, beyond expectations, by providing transportation to and from the dealership. Using Consumer Reports 2014 Best Cars issue as a guide, I had spent many months searching for a small SUV. I had tried most of them, but the price given in Consumer Reports had put me off looking at the Tiguan. It took me a long time to realize most manufacturers have several models. A basic SUV and then one or two fanciers models at a higher price. Consumer Reports only lists the price of the model they actually test. I just needed a basic model. I used True Car to determine the price and actually got my SUV at a lower price than many listed in Consumer Reports. My criteria: sit up high, great forward and rear visibility, four wheel drive, easy to view dash, great safety record and to feel comfortable in both the driver's seat and vehicle as a whole. I had not found an SUV I really wanted to buy. Finally I tried the Tiguan. It is an ideal size for me. The Wild Cherry red is a plus as many other SUVs did not come in appealing colors. Doing my search I decided I wanted a navigation system, but did not want to buy a package, as often required, of unwanted features to get this one. Brendan helped me find an after market navigation system and had it installed. I had gone to two other Volkswagen dealerships a bit closer to home before I used Colonial. At one I did not like the sales person; at the other, I did not like the purchase terms. I am very pleased to have found Brendan and Colonial. I feel secure and comfortable with Brendan and Colonial and look forward to a continuing supportive relationship over the years.

We went in and expected the same old experience, I have to say that Tim took the time to ask us what we wanted and explained the best option for us based on what we want. He was not pushing us towards anything we didn't want and ended up showing us something different than what we thought we wanted because of what we told him we where looking for. Tim showed the most respect to my daughter who the car was for than any other dealer and that meant the world to her. Thank you Tim we will be sending everybody who asks us your way
