I would like to start by saying if your looking for a dealership that will go the extra mile to satisfy than look no further. The service and level of courtesy there… left us feeling like we were family. Daniel Bortolussi is the GM there. terrible experience
by mld01016 on 11/12/2014Herb Chambers Toyota of Auburn, MA is staffed by [non-permissible content removed] and people without ethical integrity. I negotiated the price of a new Toyota Tacoma on-line, and then went into the dealership to discuss the details. My… salesman was John Bellofatto, who was generally nice and apologetic about everything that I am about to describe. So, I negotiated the terms of the lease aggressively, and came to an agreement with Stephane Jovin(Sales Manager). At this point, I was transferred to Shawn Merrick (Finance Manager), who brings up the paperwork and shows me a monthly payment based on purchasing the truck at full MSRP of $34.5k, instead of the negotiated price of $31k. When I proceeded to explain that this was not right, he called in his boss, the General Sales Manager, who tried to make it seem as if I was confused and didn’t understand basic math (I’m a mechanical engineer), and also couldn’t understand why I was upset about this. So, magically the numbers changed and they brought the monthly payment down to what had been agreed. So, I signed the lease agreement and the State of MA vehicle purchase contract and left the dealership to wait for a call when my truck was ready. They called back 5 days later, saying I had to come in and “re-sign the lease agreement”, which is a classic car dealer scam if you google that phrase. So, I go in, and after waiting for over an hour, Stephane Jovin(Sales Manager) comes over and tells me that the lease didn’t get approved by the financing company, so they need me to sign a new lease for $100 more per month. I asked him: “So, you filled out all the information for a lease agreement and a purchase contract and signed it without running my information through the leasing company?” and he says “Oh well, I guess that was a mistake on our part”. To which I replied “What I know is that the State of MA Vehicle Purchase Contract that you signed is a legally binding contract and any attempt on your part to not honor it constitutes a breach of contract, so you have two options: 1. Give me the deal I negotiated, without any changes, or 2. I contact my lawyer and sue the dealership for breach of contract”. So, he walks away, and talks with his boss, the General Sales Manager), and then comes back over and says “We called up the dealership General Manager (Dan Bortolussi), and he agreed to take a loss (what a joke) on the truck and honor the original contract…as if they are doing me a favor. So, not only are the folks at Herb Chambers Toyota of Auburn, MA dishonest, they also engage in illegal activity to try and trick people into new contracts. I’m lucky I did my research and realized the scam they were trying to pull. Do not give them your business; they are highly unethical and a [non-permissible content removed].OVER-THE-TOP-SERVICE!!!

You make everything so easy. Your service staff is… courteous,knowledgeable, and quick. I have never been disappointed, only amazed at how great the whole staff is, year after year. I highly recommend this dealership, and will definitely be recommending it to everyone I know! Gus… really worked with me and he was always very helpful, and was never pushy - he explained everything to me, and never rushed me! New Lease
by Kris90 on 09/04/2014I recently leased a 2014 Toyota RAV4 XLE and I had a wonderful experience. Tomi, the salesman was very helpful through the whole process. He not only showed me the car inside and out but he also explained all the features and everything the… car had to offer. While I was there I had my two year old daughter with me and at one point she started to get cranky. The manager immediately approached me and asked if he could help in any way, he then showed us to a playroom with toys, as soon as my daughter saw toys, she forgot all about crying. Not even a minute later the salesman showed up with a pink Frisbee for my daughter, two water bottles and ice cream sandwiches. When I go anywhere with my daughter her happiness is very important to me because if she is screaming and crying the whole time, then I can't concentrate and in this instance the salesman saved the day for me. These gestures alone made this dealership stand out from the rest to me, not because of the ice cream or the Frisbee but because of the great service and hospitality we experienced. I am so pleased with my new car, I will most definitely be doing business again with Herb Chambers Toyota of Auburn in the near future. But most importantly I will be recommending my family and friends to also lease or purchase their cars at Herb Chambers Toyota of Auburn because I know they will have just as great of an experience as I did.Kris, We appreciate you taking the time to leave us this excellent review! PURCHASE AND URGENT CARE!
by lawrence14 on 06/22/2014We had settled on a car and price before traveling from central NH to Auburn MA for a deal so good other dealerships staff said they were going there to buy one. As we were turning into the dealership, a car hit us hard enough to total our… trade in. The general manager got us ice for our bruises as well as complementary water and ice cream. Mouchine, our sales rep, went with us to the junk yard and took the plates off our old car for us. He will deliver our new car and pick up the loaner at our home near Concord NH once we transfer the plates. Needless to say this group of professionals did an outstanding job with the selection and purchase process. The extra medical attention and thoughtfulness of all the staff stands out as an example of going above and beyond for a customer. HERB CHAMBERS TOYOTA OF AUBURN is our dealership from now on and I will recommend them to everyone I know looking for a vehicle.Thank you for taking the time to share your kind recommendation of Mouchine and the team here. new 2014 Toyota Rav purchase

There was some internal goof up with the paperwork but that is when you see the worth of the salesperson and the dealership. The sales person David T was sincere, followed up proactively… and his enthusiasm ensured that the sale was concluded successfully. All the promises made were met. When I finally got my vehicle, the GSM Ehmad B, came over - he is very professional, customer oriented and immediately offered to waive of my first payment and gave me all weather floor mats. At the end I am a satisfied customer and if you are visiting this dealer, seek out David T- this sales person is unlike most car salesperson, not slick, he is sincere enthusiastic and his honestly is apparent in his conduct.Extremely dissapointing experince!!!!
by cc88 on 12/09/2009Worst dealer ever. After few negotiations, we finally came to a deal on a RAV 4 limited edition w/ navigation and rear view camera. We were told to make a down payment so they can order the car as they didn't have the color and specific… features we wanted at that time. They told us it may take 4-8 weeks for the car to arrive. We were satisfied initially with the transaction and promises made. We then made a down payment. After 3 weeks, I called just to get an update on the status of the car and the sales agent told me that "We already placed the order. Don't worry your name ALWAYS comes up in our DAILY meetings. Your car is in the building process right now." On the 4th week, I called weekly thereafter for updates either to the sales agent's number or to the branch central line. Most of the time they will call back after 2-4 days and occasionally didn't hear from them even if after leaving messages. Finally, if I got to hear from them, I received the same response - "Don't worry your name ALWAYS comes up in our DAILY meetings. Your car is in the building process right now." After 7 weeks of waiting, my fiance got frustrated so we called again and demanded that someone should call us back and tell us what' the real score. The manager returned my call and told me that they would get in touch with Toyota directly to get an update on when would the car arrive and someone would get in touch with me the next day. I waited the next day but no one returned our call. I called the day after a few times and left messages again. You should know how frustrating it had been for both of us. Finally, I was able to get in touch w/ the sales representative and he didn't even know about the conversation I had with the manager. I thought they ALWAYS talk about it in their DAILY meetings... He then called back after a while and told me that we won't be able to get the car with the features we specifically ordered because Toyota was not building it that way anymore. We waited almost 9 weeks for nothing! They offered us the same limited edition without the navigation and rearview camera and we thought we should probably still take a look again and anticipated a reasonable drop from the initial offer, after all they have repeatedly told us during our first negotiation that navigation and rear view camera will cost usually around 2000 dollars in addition. Surprisingly, they initially offered the same price as the one with navigation/rear view camera, and only later that they deducted $540 when they realized that it was completely absurd to have us pay for the same price without the same features. However, we decided it's totally not worth to buy that car. We were extremely disappointed in the way they did business with us. They should have called us for updates and not us calling them, after all we are the customers. Nevertheless, upon placing the order, if they actually did in a timely manner, they should have known if the manufacturer will build the car or not, maybe not in a week's time but definitely not more than a month. The last time I checked on the toyota.com website, RAV4 2009 still comes with the features we wanted, and if the manufacturer truly was not building the specific vehicle, they should have known it from the beginning upon placing the order. All the aforementioned matters should have been known earlier and relayed to us specially if they value and talk about their customers' orders on their DAILY meetings! Obviously not! Honestly, it took a frustrated call from us to act on this matter. I hope no customer will suffer from similar experience as we did. I wrote to Herb Chambers and his assistant twiced w/o any response! Obviously they don't value their customer.How a service experience is supposed to be.
by bmongillo on 11/17/2008The customer service given at Herb Chambers Service Dept. is second to none. I've seen many service departments over time and these guys stand out in every way. As the owner of several Toyota vehicles of varying ages there seems to be… something that needs to be done to them from schedule services to major repairs of the older vehicles from time to time. The service department is run flawlessly from the minute you pull up to the automatic garage doors to when you get your vehicle which will have been cleaned and vacuumed each and every time before you pick it up. The service writers are knowledgeable and you don't get the feeling that they are trying to sell you something that you do not need. You don't get that "you better do this now or else" pressure that many service departments give you. They take their time to explain problems and make sure you know what you need to have done before they start any work they answer all your questions and if they can't, they'll find someone who can. I called once when a light came up on my dashboard on a Saturday evening on my way out of town, a technician took his time to explain to me what it meant over the phone and that it would not prevent my trip so that I could continue on my trip without worry. I'm sure he was about to go home for the night and he spent his time helping me which he did not have to do. Thats the difference between an excellent shop and a regular one, these guys treat customers the way a customer should be treated. They take their time and seem to actually care about their customers and the cars they work on. The entire staff at HC is knowledgeable and courteous from the greeters to the technicians to the managers. They treat you like a human being with respect and concern. The service dept. has earned my business and my many thanks. They even fixed a non-Toyota vehicle that I own for a better price and with a better result than I would have received from the dealer where it was purchased.Glad this was my last stop

Right from the start I knew something was different when I was greated warmly at the front door and the 20 something year old gentleman actually held… the door. I thought I knew everything I needed to know about the car I wanted. After putting my self in the expert hands this well trained sales staff I left with the car that FIT me not what those other places pushed on me. Best car shopping experience

I was quite skeptical of the process at first because everybody knows you can't find these cars anywhere anymore! It started with an inquiry I sent online and the dealership was so… quick to get back to me, it was within minutes after I clicked submit! The staff was courteous and very helpful providing me the information I was looking for in a timely matter. They invited me down to the dealership to take care of all of my needs and to place an order on the prius that was just for me. Within weeks I had my new car and I was very satisfied with the service provided to me. After speaking to several dealerships, I knew that Herb Chambers was the best for me and I am glad I worked with them because at this point I could still be waiting for my prius to come in. This whole experience was by far the fastest, easiest, most convenient car buying experience! Did I mention I love my new prius???!!
