Sport Honda Family Experience

I would have rated Sport Honda a 10 if I could have. I attribute this to Honda’s owner Gibbs Fogarty. He is hands-on and very customer-oriented. He listens to and cares about his customers, treating us as valued and respected Sports… Family.
On May 16, I bought a 2025 Honda Civic Sport. The entire process was seamless, so unlike the usual, dreaded car buying process. This fear was evident by my old 18-year-old car.
My initial welcoming was with Sales Manager Joshua Pesantez. I had talked to him prior to my coming in, in order to advise him of which model I had in mind. When I arrived, he had my desired car waiting for me. After greeting me, he introduced me to Senior Sales Consultant Michael Canter.
Mike was awesome! He patiently familiarized me with the numerous functions of my car before, during, and after the test drive. He had extreme knowledge of my car and ensured that I was comfortable handling it. Then, he introduced me to Business Manager Josue Canas-Benavides.
Josue handled the financing. In addition to handling my financing, he also guided me through the necessary warranty and beneficial protection plans. I felt as if he acted in my best interest, particularly answering all of my questions. After we wrapped up the financing, I returned to Mike who would “see me off” in my new car.
Mike assisted me in transferring items from my old car to my new car. Even though they closed at 6:00, Mike was there wrapping things up with me until I happily drove off at 8:30.
The next day, Mike followed up, thanking me for being a loyal “Sport Fan” and also provided a link to watch videos that would familiarize me with my new car.
I also received emails from: 1) Corporate Headquarters welcoming me and ensuring my satisfaction and 2) Service Manager Jeanne Dugan thanking me for my purchase, welcoming me to the Service Department, and advising me of the services and benefits of her Department.
I am very excited and pleased with my new car and feel confident that Sport Honda will take very good care of it in the future! Based on my extraordinary experience, I highly recommend Sport Honda.

by Marteney0014 on 04/06/2017I'm a very particular car shopper doing a lot of research and comparisons before I go out and buy and Sport Honda always ends up at the top of my list. They offered me a great price (better than other dealerships I received quotes from) and… had a sales style that was professional and personal making my purchasing experience an enjoyable one. I'm turned off by aggressive dealers and Sport Honda was anything but. They were attentive but not pushy answering my questions and working with me and my timeline. Highly recommended.The ONLY place I will ever shop! 5++ Stars!!
by lizziblizz on 03/26/2017I hate buying from Dealerships. HATE. The English language does not contain words adequate enough to express my intense loathing. That is, until I went to Sport Honda of Silver Spring. I am happy to admit that I am a COMPLETE convert,… thanks entirely to salesman Mike Canter at the Silver Spring Sport Honda. I found myself in need of buying a new car after mine was totaled in a hit and run accident. The physical and emotional pain I endured in the aftermath was compounded by my trepidation at having to engage with a dealership for new car. From the very start, Mike was prompt, thorough, knowledgeable and engaged. Not once, from the moment we first connect to the moment I drove off the lot in my new car, did I ever feel pressured or as if I was getting “the run around”. I knew the specific vehicle I wanted going in (right down to the color) and Mike worked hard to find me one, which had to be transferred in from another location. I was also completely impressed with the “warranty offer” side of the experience. At this point in the process, we were exhausted and I was in pain and dying to be done and heading home and bracing for the “spiel” about extended warranties and fabric protection and maintenance packages, etc, etc. We sat with Mr. Drish (who is possibly THE friendliest person you’ll ever meet) for about a total of ten minutes. He graciously and *gently* offered the packages they provide, we declined and that was it. No pressure, no repeat offerings, no high energy sales pitches. We simply declined and chatted about a beautiful picture hanging in his office while he printed off the final forms. I am a Honda girl and Sport Honda of Silver Spring is the ONLY place I will ever purchase a vehicle, period. I unreservedly give them a 5 Star Rating. If there were a 6 Star Rating, I’d give them that.Great Experience!!

I found all the information to be very honest and upfront. I already knew the value of purchasing the "whole package",… from Sales to Service as my husband and I have purchased 7 CRVs from Sport. Wonderful dealership
by GypsyCat on 03/08/2017My wife and I recently purchased a 2017 Honda CR-V. We looked at multiple dealerships but Sport Honda provided us the best service. We received answers to all our questions online and received a firm out-the-door price quote that listed all… fees and taxes we would pay. We did not feel pressured to buy from them and we did not feel pressured to purchase any options or accessories. When we asked for information via email we typically received a response in about 20-25 minutes. Other dealerships didn't respond for hours and even then didn't provide out-the-door price quotes. The salesperson we worked with at Sport Honda was very professional and knowledgeable about the vehicle. The only negative part for us was that we didn't realize the lowest interest rate of 0.9% was only on select vehicles if you had a good enough credit score. We thought it was based on credit score and assumed we would qualify, which we did, but we found out we couldn't get it for the 2017 model because it only applied to older model years or select vehicles that weren't selling. Even so we would highly recommend this dealership as the experience overall was really great and we could arrange a price from our living room over the computer and compare it to other dealerships.GypsyCat, Thank you very much for taking time to review Sport Honda on Edmunds. The best price in town

The price is fair and the way the treat customers 5 star up ... Will Szymanski is the nice guy ,listen and… help you all details. Before I came to sports Honda Silver Spring, I went to Honda in college park, i was there for few hours. They customer service very terrible. The sale man manager is rude and did not respect us ( well come us) I am business man , I don't have time to come there to wast time with them . Jack Francis is the service representative that I always ask for and Jack is terrific, telling me what work is needed and what work is not.… The service prices may be higher then what one would pay at a neighborhood service station but the price paid is fair and the quality of work is excellent and you know that you are getting genuine Honda parts with Honda trained mechanics.DPASMAN, Thank you for reviewing Sport Honda on Edmunds. A truly knowledgeable and honest dealership

He was well spoken and polite. He worked with his manager to… get us to a price that we both could agree on. Elliot, the document closer, was also polite, friendly and thorough. Great car buying experience!

Thanks to the internet, I had researched my options and selected my preferred model, a 2016 or 2017 Honda Civic Sedan with a manual transmission. After searching the web… sites of the Honda dealers closest to me, I was not able to locate a Civic with a manual transmission. I had almost resigned myself to another make/model but decided to use AAA's car buying service. That lead me to Sport Honda in Silver Spring, MD. I had never heard of this dealership and it was about a 15 mile drive for me, but I decided to give it a try after receiving a decent quote through the AAA service. (By the way, the location was easily accessible for me as it was just off the ICC 200.) I was contacted by Sport Honda fairly quickly and salesman Julius Crane explained they had 3 colors of the manual transmission 2017 Civic that held my interest. Mr. Crane made himself available to meet with me quickly, and spent some time going over the attributes of the car (remember it had been 22 years so I had some catching up to do). He was gracious, attentive, professional and made me what I consider was an excellent price for the car. From registration to titling to payment, the process was incredibly easy and best of all stress-free. From Julius Crane, my salesman, to Elliott Robinson who prepared all the sales paperwork, to Ray Collins the service manager, the entire experience was a very positive one, and I'll be bringing my car back to this dealership for its service appointments. I highly recommend Sport Honda if you're in the market for a new car.AWESOME AUTO SALE EXPERIENCE!!

Great product but more importantly a very thorough explanation of a 2016 Honda Civic by Sales Representative TJ Troutman. Clearly stated and nicely demonstrated.… Mike the General Manager made a special effort to meet us and Buddy, in Finance was wonderful. TJ went over all the features of the car, letting us do each feature ourselves. Dealing with Daniel ZHANG (salesperson) was an absolute pleasure.… He was able to offer me a great deal and explained the difference among the trims, eventually, I selected CR-V EX AWD model W/ heated seating system and sunroof, which have so practical features after comparing with the competitor from Toyota RAV LE /XLE. As a first time buyer, I was unsure and unaware of the details one should consider when investing in a vehicle and had also checked out a few other… places. The staff at Sport Honda is very knowledgeable and their is a stark difference between them and others. Everybody from the business manager to the finance person treats you professionally. I didn't feel rushed or pressured, and finalized the deal when I felt comfortable. T J (the salesperson) should be especially acknowledged here. He thoroughly went over every feature of the car, patiently answered all my questions and was very quick in taking care of the minor issues I had. I also got follow up calls which were further assuring. Some of the finance policies weren't clear to me initially,so I went back and Brian was immensely helpful with my queries. He took his time to explain all the points. Besides the pleasant experience at Sport Honda, they also offered me a very competitive price for the car and made the decision easier for me.
