by Kade on 07/01/2024super quick in and out with my Yukon!Unable to provide quality mechanics and quality maintenance work
by Dreams44 on 03/07/2023On 03/01/23, I took my car in for service and was told it would be a few days before I would know the issue due to an influx of other service requests. On 03/03/23, after calling for an update, I was told that it would be $3,000 for a new… turbo part. When I questioned Kevin, the service representative who assisted me, and asked for an itemization of that figure, he told me it would be $800 for the turbo, $1,100 for labor, and "other parts like gaskets, a hose, and other things need to install the turbo". I further questioned him on the $1,100 difference and he was unable to provide exactly what was needed and restated that it's parts needed to install the turbo. I told him not to do any work and to wait for me to call him within the next 30 minutes. In that time, I found a different certified mechanic who stated it would be $1,200 total for parts and labor. I called back and told Kevin not to do any work and that I will retrieve my car. This was an incredibly poor and outrageously terrible experience for a number of reasons. Kevin charged me the most expensive diagnostic fee allowable and stated it was that price because of the work that had to be done to diagnose the problem. I was charged $180 and he never told me exactly what was done to diagnose the problem, however I paid the fee and retrieved my car. Kevin provided a wrong diagnosis. It was not the turbo, it was an intake manifold issue. The other mechanic explained that the diagnostic codes provided evidence of an intake manifold issue along with the issues I described/experienced in driving my car. Also, the turbo was inspected and was in good condition. So the question remains, how did McCarthy-Morse determine it was the turbo? If I was charged the higher diagnostic fee because "so much" diagnostic work had to be done and the turbo was actually examined, then how could there have possibly been an incorrect diagnosis? Lastly, I've been a long-time customer of McCarthy-Morse for years, as I've purchased two cars from this location and years worth of maintenance services. My teenage daughter is now a licensed driver and I'm looking to purchase a third car as I'm gifting my current car to her. This situation has completely destroyed my relationship and ruined my plans for purchasing a third vehicle from a dealership I've trusted for so long. I'm unable to recommend or make a purchase from a dealership unable to provide quality mechanics and quality maintenance work.MR.
by PLSName on 01/19/2023I had slow leak of tire, and went into McCarthy-Morse Chevrolet to have tire diagnosed. They quickly determined that slow leak was caused by nail/bolt embedded in my tire. Dealer did not have tire in stock. Tire was not readily available… in Kansas City so service representative had new tire shipped in from St Louis. Tire received next day, and I had tire replaced that next day.6 days w/o car and $485 for an oil change + battery
by AJ Frederes on 01/11/2023Last time I will ever return, I've had issues in the past with this dealership and this last experience was no different. I made an appt to check my car in for an oil change on Thursday 1/5 at 7 AM, also noted on the appointment request… that I had a service brake assist and stability track light that kept coming on. When arriving I was told that the earliest a tech could look at it would be Saturday morning (why even set an appt?) I asked if I could bring it back on Saturday as I need my car. I was told no that this would be a liability since there is now a ticket open and issues with the vehicle. I agreed to leave the car and asked them to look at it ASAP and to keep me posted, then walked across the street back to work. I didn't hear anything Thursday or Friday so I texted the number for an update Saturday morning, no response from anyone. I texted again and called and left a message Monday at 9 AM for Chris, no response. Called the main line again at 1130 Monday and asked for Chris, was fed a bunch of BS that he actually wasn't working Saturday and the car didn't get looked at but he had a tech assigned to look at it Monday afternoon. I receive a call around 2 PM Monday afternoon saying before the tech can go any farther we need to replace the battery which would be $358. Late Monday they call again saying the car would be ready for pick. I was without a car for 6 days and got charged $485 for a battery replacement and an oil change. The customer service, communication, and entire process is a joke. If your shop is behind and you cannot diagnose a vehicle when an appointment is set and you do not offer a loaner car you need to stop accepting appointments. This dealership is close to my office and was convenient for me to service my car as well as my wifes', I will never return again.Oil Change and Touchscreen software upgrade.
by MarkChevy on 05/17/2021Bill the technician assigned to me did GREAT job.I would rather use Bob Allen ford for any vehicle make and model and now do
by ChipperG on 12/30/2018updated 01/07/2019Used an oil change coupon sent to me by the dealer. When given at check in, it seemed like less concern was evident. When I returned over 3 hours later I was told they "Honored", my coupon. What the heck does that mean!?! Did you do me a… favor to accept your own advertising!!?!? In addition the multi-point inspection?? Were the fluids low and topped off?? Not a word or note just basically here's your bill and BYE! No mileage/date tag in the window for next visit! Basically they may have slapped a new filter in and topped off the oil for all I know. I have not been thrilled with this place basically because when you arrive you have to look for someone to help you. Usually planted in a chair inside rather than watching for customers and providing expected service and acknowledgement. Could it be I wasn't in a 50000$ vehicle? just a 2010 impala? Wont go there again and would not recommend. It was not my first bad service experience there.Auto body repair
by Jeff10malibu on 11/30/2018The team replaced the front bumper, washer fluid pump and reservoir on my 2010 Chevy Malibu. Excellent work, on time, for a reasonable price. Professional and courteous service. Very satisfied.
