Bait & Switch with Online Pricing
by jmjack1 on 12/31/2014This place is a joke, it isn't even worth a one star review. They are pulling a classic bait and switch on customers. We found a listing for the vehicle we wanted online, called a salesman about it and even got pre-approved for the… financing for that vehicle. When we went to make sure we wanted it and purchase it the next day (after driving an hour and a half there), the salesman tried showing us other vehicles and claimed that the one we found online wasn't there. We showed them the stock number and they "tried" to locate it and then said "I guess it must have sold last night" even though they could find no record of it and they acted like the vehicle had never existed. Even though we went through all prior approval steps just the night before for THAT vehicle. They also tried claiming it wasn't on their website and while they had removed it from the search listings, the page itself was still active and easily found using Google.Hi Jenny, We understand you are upset and we are truly sorry the situation. I was called immediately when the car was on it's way and the folks… at Auffenberg Ford North lead by Vicki Robison kept a close watch on her for over a week until I could get there to pick her up. Auffenberg Ford North in O'Fallon Illinois in my opinion is the best dealership I've dealt with. I'm 52 years old and I've been buying cars from them since 2000. I spent over 28 years in the military moving all over the US and no other dealership has made me fell as important as the folks at Auffenberg Ford North. Vicki Robison my sales person, Anthony Brinker my Finance guy are the absolute best. Like I said, I've been dealing with Auffenberg Ford North since 2000 and I can say top to bottom they are without question the best. Whether it's sales, service, parts or whatever you need this dealership will make sure you are taken care of right everytime.Ken Carril is AWESOME!

I will be going back for my next purchase, which I hope isn't soon since I love my new… car. Paul Fryer my salesman and did an EXCELLENT job! My only complaint is the amount of time it takes to close a deal. But that's the way the car buying experience goes, no matter where you buy.my new Stangs

by misled5 on 11/18/2014I'll never consider buying another car from Auffenberg Ford. We made an appointment to look at a used Ranger and when we arrived after a 50 mile drive, and on time, we were told they just sold the truck and the deal was being written up… even as we spoke. After going home they called to say the deal had fallen through and were we still interested. Despite my misgivings we went back and decided to buy it. That was when we found out that: a) they couldn't come down (much) on their "internet special" prices; b: the $500 off internet coupon couldn't be used on "internet special" prices and that c) KBB and NADA really don't know much about used car trade in values. After going through all that and still wanting the truck we finally reached a deal. I asked about how to go about getting a couple of issues that were noticed on the test drive corrected (these were ones that the salesman had already agreed to) we were told that their margin was now so low that they wouldn't be able to do that. I wouldn't recommend Auffenberg Ford to my worst enemy.Hi Rich, We’re truly sorry to hear you had such an unpleasant purchase experience with us. by packncards on 09/19/2014I drove 2 1\2 hours to get a car from here. When test driving it we noticed a shimmy and some rubbing. Salesman told me they would fix it. The car sat until the papers were signed, then taken to get "fixed". After it was "fixed" they had me… drive it again (papers signed). The rubbing was still there. I told the salesman who "talked to his boss" and was told to drive it around for a few days and if it was still there, they would make it right. After 3 weeks and many emails it's still there. They want me to take a day off work, spend the gas money to drive 2 1\2 hours and use up 10% of the warranty they gave me to drive down there and fix a problem they didn't fix right the first time. I canNOT recommend this dealership. They refuse to do the responsible thing and allow me to get it fixed up here.Hi Cameron, As much as any dealership tries to avoid it unforeseen problems do occasionally arise with pre-owned vehicles once they leave the lot. However, unlike most dealers we always fix what isn't right without hesitation - —as we are with your situation. On that note, any issue with your vehicle must be addressed in our service department and only our service department. Now, we understand we are quite a distance from you so our solution is this - —we will drive out to you, pick up your car and leave you a rental vehicle till we return your car to you. by 0_satisfied on 08/20/2014We are new to the area and have been looking to purchase a vehicle. Initially we looked at purchasing a used car. We set up an appointment and when we arrived, we found the person our appointment was with went home for the day.… Approximately a month later, we went to the Ford dealership to purchase a new car that was advertised with a rebate and 0 % financing. We were informed that the dealership would not allow us to have the rebate and the financing. The ad did not state this... Two weeks later, the same car advertised with the rebate (or) financing. We secured our loan and went down to purchase the car only to find out that they would not give us the advertised rebate if we financed it through someone else. I would never recommend Auffenburg to anyone and I will never purchase a vehicle through them. They do not honor what they advertise.Quick and Easy!

I was researching online and looking for a (get away for the weekend truck) for my wife and I. I first looked on Craigslist and around town but everything in… my price range was 2 or 3,000 over what I wanted to pay with posts on craigslist like, "the price is not negotiable" and "beautiful truck but there is a slight knock in the engine" .. I had a thought to look at some dealerships near me, even tho I said I would not buy from a dealer because of there high prices and there sales swag, know it all personality. I looked on edmunds.com and cars.com for dealership reviews in my area and stumbled on auffenberg ford, Great reviews!! So I went to their website to check on prices, I was blown away! The prices were the lowest within 100 miles. I found a truck I was interested in and sent a email to see if they still had it in stock. They responded the next morning with an email and a phone call, I called back and made an appointment to look at the truck I was interested in. When I arrived the sales staff were friendly and the showroom was spotless, the guy I originally had the appointment with was with another customer at the time but there was another sales person willing to help me right away, her name was Vicky. I let her know the stock number of the truck I was interested in and she started looking to see if they still had it in stock. She found it, but it was up the road a bit in another lot so she grabbed a car from her lot and said, "I will drive you up there so you can take a look at it". We drove up to the other lot and I began looking at the truck. She was not the pressure car sales person that I remembered in the past. She was polite and very patient as I started looking at every part of the truck. She started the engine for me and noticed it was out of gas, as I was reviewing the truck she went into the building to get some gas. She came back and had a 2 gallon gas can but the spout was to small to fit in the tank, she walk back into the building and brought out a funnel for the gas can and I helped her put the gas in. I drove the truck up and down the street gunned it a couple of times and spent at least 20 min in the truck. The whole time, there was not any pressure to buy, she let me make the choice. We drove the truck back to the lot and I let her know that I would take the truck. She went above and beyond for me and that's what really impacted my decision to buy. We filled out the paperwork and I was able to get the loan and drive the truck home that night. You know it's a good place to buy when the sales person does not pressure you to buy or give you a big speech about how great the car or truck is. They let you do what you come in the dealership to do, buy a vehicle. I am very happy with my experience and my purchase there and will now buy all my future cars or trucks there.Amazing Experience
