great teamwork
by traylor_2 on 08/19/2016updated 08/31/2016Mike Myers was knowledgeable, friendly, and lets us take our time in our decision to buy. Work with us on our budget and car specs, very thorough from beginning to end. And Thomas was also excellent in explaining all the financing,… extended warranty and discounts. All around good experience.Good Car Buying Experience at Wilkins Mazda
by j_mathai on 07/30/2016We recently bought a brand new 2016 Mazda CX-5 from Wilkins Mazda in Elmhurst, IL. Mike, the sales person is a very friendly guy and a straight shooter. He didn't use any of the sales tactics to close the deal. He gave us the fair price at… the first time. Even after the purchase of the vehicle, Mike took time to explain main features in the vehicle and programmed both of our cell phones for hands free calling. We really enjoyed the car buying experience at Wilkins. It was a Pressure free environment. If you are in the market for a new or pre owned vehicle, I strongly recommend to visit Wilkins in Elmhurst, IL.Thanks Mike Myer for my perfect car
by ktnelson on 04/25/2016When Wilkins Mazda was having trouble hunting down the Mazda CX-5 that I wanted to lease (specific color, Sport package) sales associate Mike Myer went "old school" and checked every CX-5 on the lot. Might not sound like much but in these… days of heavy reliance on computer info, it made a big difference to me. Because of him, I didn't have to settle for a color I didn't want or upgrade my package choice. Way to make it work, Mike! Thanks for my perfect car!!Very Good Shopping Experience
by smanicks on 03/20/2011updated 07/24/2025I recently bought a Mazda5 2012 GT with Wilkins Mazda, Elmhurst. It was a good shopping experience. Sales Consultant Jim Minogue helped in all aspects, worked hard to meet the needs, followed up as needed, provided ample time to make a… decision and didn't rush thru' the process. Finance Manager Domenic Nanni has provided multiple options, explained what's feasible, and worked hard to meet the needs. An on-line adventure!
by fingerpaws on 04/12/2014updated 07/24/2025I bought a Miata from Jim M. He was generous with his time, I called him on a Sunday when the dealership was closed, to seize the deal. He answered all my questions and even picked me up from O'Hare. It was an easy experience and I feel I… paid a fair price. It was the first time I bought a car I found on line and out of state. I had been concerned about every aspect of the deal, but my 2013 car still smells new, and it was nicely detailed. Everything turned out as well as I had hoped.BEWARE OF THIS DEALER
by mvadjust on 07/09/2013updated 07/24/2025Stay away. Was interested in a used vehicle. Test drove the vehicle and the engine light came on. They called me some time later to tell me it was taken care of. The day I bought it the engine light came on on the way home. When I called… they told me to go to a mechanic they had previously used. The mechanic run a diagnostic test and said the car needed a part that cost $1700.00 dollars plus installation. When I called the dealer I was passed around from one person to another until eventually one of them said that they will not help with anything. These people knew that the car I bought needed that part and had the mechanic turn the engine light off. STAY AWAY!!Stay away. Bait and switch.
by jerryvb on 12/31/2012updated 07/24/2025Stay away! The sales team is horrible. This AM my family went in with the intention of buying a CX-9 but walked away after a bad experience with Joe. Customer service is not their priority. Bait and switch tactics, poor listening skills… and rudeness are the qualities that Wilkins excels at. Was a previous Wilkins customer before they moved but will never buy from them again. Go to Pugi in Downers and talk to David T. We bought a 2012 CX-9 Grand Touring from him this PM.Plays the typical carsales man game
by look2sell on 03/22/2011updated 07/24/2025After sending in a price for the car, when I asked for specifics, the salesman kept trying to sell an earlier ear model to me. After the manager of the dealership called me, I re initiated the process only for Andy M to quote me a price… which according to him was "out of the door". After I went to the dealership, he informed me that 750 would be added on as destination charges, totally not cool way to do business. They lost my business.Awesome service
by rakotota on 07/09/2011updated 07/24/2025Peter was our salesman and he was incredibly patient with me. I requested a bunch of quotes online and we emailed back and forth for about 2 weeks before we bought the car. I called him and emailed several times with questions and he always… answered patiently and didn't act irritated even though it probably sounded like it wasn't going to become a deal. Dominick, the financing man, was awesome too, he explained everything to us in detail and didn't make us feel uncomfortable in any way or pushed into anything. Very pleasing experience. Thanks!Chalk Up One for the Good Guys
by carshopper2011 on 04/17/2011updated 07/24/2025After trying to be taken for a ride by Evanston Autobarn (What is Chicago Access Fee anyway?), I went online to carwoo (nice because the dealers don't know who you are, only that you are not a tire kicker because you pay $49 to use the… service) and negiotiated with 5 dealers at the same time. Three prices were good, Biggers, Bill Jacobs and Wilkens. Wilkens was the closest to our house. Jim Minoge was so patient with my multiple inquires, trim changes and overzealousness as I made sure I didn't get madeup options when we got there. Made an appointment to pickup the car 8pm, filled out the credit app online before I got there (nice touch). If there wasn't someone in front of us, I think I would have gotten out of there in 45 minutes, but one hour 30 minutes isn't bad. The Business Manager Domenic Nanni was easy going. He is new to Wilkins, but said this is the best dealership he has every worked for. Interesting that this is the same two people listed in smanicks review. Coincidence? After going through the nightmare at the other dealer, it is nice that Wilkens treated us with respect. Thanks Jim and Domenic.Mazda 3
by mazda3owner4 on 03/13/2014updated 07/24/2025I started with a few other dealerships first Honda and Ford on Grand. Honda was super pressure and buy buy buy and would not budge on price. And Ford took 2.5 days to give me a price on my trade in. also their policy is you cant drive by… yourself and half to have a person with you which is to much for me. I was really satisfied with Mazda I had Jim as a Salesman and he was ready for me to test drive everything on the lot. most importantly by myself. He immediately asked what I wanted in the car I told him. I test drove 2 cars and he was lining up more. Everything was very good. I didn't like that it took 3 hours to get paperwork in order or that after we settled on a price they throw 3 warranties at you that you basically need due to the Mazda having only 35K/3yr and 65k/5yr on the regular warranty. so you basically have to extend. which brings you an extra 2k if you want the extra warranty. I was very satisfied it was low pressure and a good experience.Outstanding Salesmanship, Jeff
by campuscop_343 on 08/03/2012updated 07/24/2025I was in dire straits as my old car's engine fried and I wasn't ready for a new car. Jeff Matzkin was a very patient, understanding, and helpful individual in the purchase of my CX-9. Thanks, Jeff for showing all the bells and whistles on… my new CX-9 and taking the time in showing them to me.
