Fantastic people, full transparency, fair deals

I sent an email to this dealership two weeks ago, Monday morning. I expressed interest in very specific new car they had in stock. I told them very clearly in my email what I was willing to pay for the car and that I wasn't remotely interested in dealer add ons of any type. I added that if they could meet my numbers I'd go to the dealership that day and drive the car first and then do a deal the same day. About 30 minutes later I got an email back from the sales manager Ninevah. She said my numbers would work and that we could do a deal. We went to the dealership and met Ninevah who handed us off to a really great salesman, Vasile. He took us out on at test drive and told us everything we could ever want to know about the car. It's cool when the sales people really know their product lineup in depth. After the test drive we returned to the showroom. We sat down and did the preliminary paper work to get the ball rolling. We did come to a brief potential deal breaking point as I was asking for what they said was too much for my tow trade ins. Ninevah asked if we could go home and wait for a few hours so she could discuss the trade ins with her appraiser who was due in later. We agreed and came home. As promised a few hours later I got an email from her with an attached deal sheet. All the numbers were crystal clear. She didn't meet the prices I was looking for on my two trades, but she came up with a number that we decided was fair. We agreed to proceed with the deal. Due some scheduling conflicts we weren't able to get back to the dealership until that Thursday at noon. We sat with Vasile and sis all the pre finance office paper work. An hour or so later we were in the finance office with a really nice guy by the name of Luis. He was clear, didn't push anything on us and did a great job of getting us in and out of there in about 20 minutes. BTW, when we got their Thursday, Vasile had the car all cleaned up and shiny ready to go. It was sitting in their delivery bay and looked beyond amazing. Once we came out of finance, Vasile escorted us to the new Santa Fe and proceeded once again to go over all the important stuff with us. He set up our phones into the system and did a once over on other features. He really knew this vehicle inside and out. I should add that as we were waiting for paperwork to process we went back in to their customer lounge and had a few fancy coffee drinks. Literally every employee we crossed paths with at Napleton was super friendly and very helpful. The thing that impressed me most was how transparent and quick they all were at getting things done. This was hands down my best new car buying experience ever. That's saying a lot because I've purchased north of 30 new vehicles over the years. Vasile has followed up a few times already just two weeks out to make sure we're comfortable with the vehicle and to see if he could answer any questions. In this day and age folks, this is really a breath of fresh air. Total professionals from start to finish. I highly recommend this dealership to anyone in the area looking for a new Hyundai or nice used car. They had an amazing selection all housed in a really clean and modern looking facility. Solid 5 out of 5 stars across the board. We love our new Santa Fe and truly enjoyed the new car buying experience. Thanks Ninevah and Visile, we appreciate how easy you made it to buy this amazing new SF Hybrid.

  • Bad experience...

    My first visit went well. I got a decent price for my first time there.....but I was just looking at prices, not really intending to buy. Buying a new car depended on if my daughter wanted to take over payments on ours. She decided no and we stopped looking. Two months later, our daughter's 2002 Civic got a bad engine oil leak ($2000.00 repair) and we started looking again. Our original salesman was not in that day, so we talked to another guy. He was very friendly. All the employees we saw seemed very friendly.....I guess until you decide not to buy. I will try to keep this short. 1) Salesman tried to sell me the "Napelton Experience" for $1395.00. I said no, but the pricing breakdown sheet he presented to us had it on there anyway. After a little more talking, he comes back with a new price and a monthly payment. His price was much higher than the price I got just 2 months earlier. This is when my wife and I both realized that if you get the 0/0% financing, you get very little of the bonuses and incentives that are offered. Our first salesman never really told us this. This was also when we realized that the very good internet price we got was with 0/0% interest or the incentives, not both. No where in the email was any of this mentioned. We got offered what seemed like very high monthly payment rates, so we left. Both sides were angry. When I got home and looked over the price breakdown, the "Napelton Experience" was now $399.00. I still never asked for it and where did this odd number come from. It looks like they were trying sneak it on without me catching it. 2) In a total of 3 visits, we received 11 different monthly payment plans. All these plans were with $3000.00 down. 3) Next day our original salesman called and asked what happened. I told him and he said he will see what he could do. He texted me later with a message saying to call him that he had great news. He offered me 0/0% financing and a very good monthly payment rate for 72 months. After doing some calculating, this deal was very close to the good internet price we got and with 0/0% financing. We went in the next day to buy the car. 4) Me, my wife and daughter (28) all went. We had just filled out the credit report and while waiting, went out to see the car. As we were sitting and standing around the new car; wondering where the $35.00 first aid kit was, our salesman comes out and tells us there was an error. Our monthly payment would not be $210.00/month (like I was told over the phone and the salesman agreed he said) but $251.00/month. This added $2952.00 to the price of the car. This is where all heck broke out and I think either a sales manager or general manager came to talk to us. He said the mistake was that the monthly rate I was offered was with $6000.00 down, not $3000.00. The problem was; never ever did I say I was putting $6K down, always $3K. After some intense and angry negotiations, I was asked what I wanted to pay. I came at a number that was halfway between my target number and what they originally offered. They said no. He offered me some rates that were higher than I previously was offered; I said no. At this point, the guy we were talking to was getting very angry. He was writing very fast, scribbling in a rough manner all over a sheet of paper, circling numbers many times, crossing out numbers like he had a crayon and at one point he ripped thru the paper he was writing on. (I did save these papers). It was at this point that he asked me 2 times if I see a common denominator here (referring that I was the problem that a car is not being bought). After a couple more monthly rate offers, he said that the one I get now will be his lowest offer. (Why didn't he give me this lowest offer in the first place)? I told him that at this point that my mind was swirling with confusion and that I would like to take the weekend to think it over and I would get back to him on Monday. He said...very boldly...that I pay this lowest price right now (as he is circling around and around the number with his pen) or it goes up to the higher price on Monday. I said no and he started to angrly scratch out the low number and circling the higher number many times. Again he said this higher rate is the number if you come back Monday. And during all this talk he kept saying how the dealer is losing money, showing me numbers that were bad for them, etc. He said he would show me an invoice to prove how much they were losing. (Looking at an invoice that I know nothing about and knowing that car dealers get incentives and what not for cars, I would probably wonder how much truth is really in one of those). I left the dealer with my head spinning about what just happened. 5) Before my second visit with the dealer, I wanted to confirm that the 0/0% financing was still good with the internet price I got with the car I wanted. I called the internet girl and she said it was. She never mentioned that the offer was for 0/0% for 72 months or the bonuses and incentives, not both. After finding this out on my second visit, I called the internet girl again. I asked her again if the 0/0% offer was still good on this car. At first she said no; that she never would of said that. A few seconds later she said yes, that this car had the 0/0%. Trying to be nice, I explained to her that since she deals with car buying everyday and I am doing this after 6 years, I don't know all the ins and outs and facts about how the car pricing and deals work with incentives and such. I explained to her that any emails that she sends out should have an asterisk somewhere explaining about the incentives and what works with what. This could maybe help other people also. I don't know if she completely understood what I was saying, but I tried. I mention this because that GM? that I was dealing with said that the internet price I got had all the incentives that the dealer offered included in it. These were the military offer, first responder and college grad. I didn't think the internet price included these, so just for my own curiosity I called to talk to the girl to ask her about it. She was busy, but 2 other people offered to talk to me about it. I said I really wanted to talk to the internet person ( I wanted to hear her answer, not what someone else thinks she might have been thinking). I left my number that morning for her to call back. Late in the afternoon she didn't call back yet, so I called again. She was still busy so some guy came on the phone. I told him I wanted to talk to internet person. He said to talk to him only. I asked why and he said she was afraid of me and that I was harassing her. I was totally stunned by what he said. After telling him I just wanted to ask her a question; I said that he could be with her in her office and on the phone with her, he told me again to not call again or he would report me. I did not call again. 6) In ending, the next day I called Pugi in Downers Grove. I said that I just had a bad experience at another local Hyundai dealer ( the person probably guessed who) and to please give me a monthly rate with 0/0% interest and $3000.00 down. An hour later she emailed me a deal that was better than anything Napelton offered (a price that Napelton said they would lose money on). I never thought that a phone call and an email could get me as good a deal as talking in person. I bought the car the next day at Pugi. The whole transition took about an hour only.

    They have very nice cars that are reasonably priced. There is a lot to choose from. The staff is there to help you from the moment you walk in. Things started going array with my financing, but they provided a hotel for us to stay until things got worked out.

    I knew what I wanted before arriving but wasn’t planning to buy that day. My saleswoman Kathy Gorecki was enthusiastic but not overly pushy. She managed to find in inventory the exact vehicle I wanted... model, color and every option. I said what I would pay and was willing to walk away but she got her manager to agree to my price. It was the first time I bought new ever and the first time in over a decade I had to haggle but I got what I wanted for the price I wanted. It was a mostly good experience. Some minor hiccups with paperwork were discovered 2 weeks later but it was an honest mistake and the dealer did right by me. Zero hassle. Zero complaints. I love my car. I would consider this dealership again in the future. I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews but I did not experience the things I read about.

    John was our salesman and he was great. He was very upfront about all the costs, fees and the price of the car. I know salespeople don’t make a great chunk of cash off of a lease, so we were happy that John didn’t try to trick us into extra costs. He answered all of our questions and didn’t drag out the process. He was friendly, relatable and listened to our needs. Thank you!

    had a terrible experience purchasing my Jeep 3 years ago and I was ready to trade it in. We went to another Hyundai Dealership and I just wasn’t sold on the car I looked at, so my husband suggested we check out Napleton’s. I’m so happy he did. Jordan was outstanding, I got the car I wanted, in the color I wanted (interior and exterior) and I couldn’t be more pleased. The finance process was excellent and everything was so smooth. This was the first new car I’ve ever purchased and the whole process from beginning to end was excellent. Thank you Jordan and thank you Napleton’s!!!!!!

    We worked with Hannah Voss who I would highly recommend you ask for at the front. We were looking at the Santa Fe and she was very knowledgable, friendly, professional, and very low pressure. It didn't feel like the traditional 'car buying experience'. It didn't hurt that we thought the Santa Fe offered a huge amount of value for the price with every safety feature you knew about and some you didn't available.

  • Misled By Service Advisor

    Beware of the Service Advisor, Kevin. He is misleading and dishonest. He quoted me a price on brake work, misleading me to believe that they were OEM parts, but after paying and receiving my car, I found they were aftermarket!! I came back to complain, but he tried to make it look like that was what I asked for. What B.S. !!!!!!! If I wanted aftermarket parts, Why would I go to Napleton HyundaiI to pay much more for them and the labor than a regular reputable repair shop offering the same aftermarket parts?!?!?! Also, after I got my car back, I found that my brake fluid was dark, even after I had a complete brake flush just 4 months earlier. What is going on?!?!

    Sold me a rental car as new, found the rental agreement in the glove box. Has body damage under the car and the breaks are bad 24 hours after receiving it. We were told we were approved yet they ran mine and my husbands credit over 40 times after we had signed the agreement to be financed through Chase. When confronting the management there they have become irate saying they're not in the wrong about any of it then hung up on my husband. They finally admitted that they still don't have the financing done 2 weeks later. We are getting an attorney. Please add me on facebook if you have had a similar experience, I have already found others that would like to be involved in suing this dealership.

Your vehicle was, occasionally, used as both a demo and/or short term loaner for customers in our service department. That is why the vehicle was so heavily discounted. That is also why we disclosed this fact to you, orally, multiple times. In addition, you signed no fewer than 9 separate documents where the vehicle’s mileage was disclosed as 3,972. Despite these efforts at transparency, when you approached us after the sale with your dissatisfaction, we offered to let you return the vehicle and cancel the transaction. You declined. I would very much like to find a solution that will make you happy. Please don’t hesitate to contact me personally so that we can explore any and all options that you might propose.     I am very pleased with my experience at Napletons Valley Hyundai. Brian Anderson was my salesman today. HE WAS VERY FRIENDLY. and the price I paid for my vehicle was very reasonable. I went to another Hyundai dealer before coming to this one. They were very rude at Gerald Hyundai, so they lost my sale. And i decided to buy here at Napletons valley hyundai.
