We owe Sammy Samuels at Thomson Jeep and Dodge a big debt of gratitude. He and the staff listened to us and knew we were unhappy with our current vehicle. He helped make it possible to get into the car of our dreams before we left the dealership. He made it such a great buying experience. We will be recommending him to everybody.

  • Value your money GO ELSEWHERE!!!

Wish I could give negative stars. Don’t waste your time or money going to this dealership. I recently purchased a 2017 Dodge Ram 2500. I asked before leaving the dealership for the second key fob which is needed to start the vehicle and was told when I left the dealership that the past owner (which was also the sales manager) probably had it and it would be sent to me. I have followed up numerous times with both the sales manager and salesman only to hear petty banter between the two of them. When you spend that amount of money on a truck and leave with half a tank of gas and promises of we’ll take care of it excuses with no outcome.....
    • Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Dawn. I sincerely apologize for any lack of communication. Please reach out to me directly so that we can work towards rectifying this situation. Sincerely, Lori McCormick, 706-466-1188, lmccormick@jeepcheap.com

  • Downgrade

1 out of 5 starsby Downgrade on 05/31/2018

I have purchased 4 vehicles from Thomson Motor Centre and this will indeed be my last. Let me be clear that I am aware that I signed the paperwork, nobody forced me, and I drove the vehicle off the lot...and had buyers remorse before I hit the interstate. I went in for an oil change with my 2016 Dodge Challenger Shaker - my dream car that was fully loaded with every bell and whistle. She was AMAZING. I will never forget that night I got her...Thomson Motor Centre treated me very respectfully worked with me the absolute best they could financially. When we were done...I was proud to drive that car off the lot. I got MANY compliments over the time I had it. I would always say thank you and always let people know where I got it and share my outstanding experience. I believe in keeping hometown business, well...home. I kept the car in great shape however it was time for new tires and my warranty had expired by about 4,000 miles which made me a tad nervous. My daughter had said she would put new tires on for me and I had already priced them (about $1,000.00). April 28, 2018 I took my baby in for an oil change and went right to the waiting room. I got bored and decided to walk the lot. Strolled by the Jeeps, wandered by the trucks and then there I went...like a magnet - to the Challengers. I was just looking, afterall, I didn't need one. I had a perfectly good one inside...but that darn warranty was up. Tommie Mack was the first Sales Consultant through the door that Saturday. Awesome gentleman. He is kind, professional and very easy to like. One of the 2018 Challenger's had caught my eye (of course - it had a warranty) so I requested Tommie run some numbers. He returned and let me know that for (now keep in mind I have thrown this scratch paper away) $2,700 down and an increase in my car pymt of between $70 - $130 it would indeed be possible for me to trade in my old car and get this new one. Yes, I was indeed upside down and that right there was my sign! For once I was smart enough to politely say "no" ...I will not over-extend myself and I cannot put any money down. I must leave now. I was almost out the door when Mr. Mack said to hold on...they wanted to run numbers again to see if we could work something out. Bam...hecomes back and say's no down payment and my car payment increases by $11.00 and I will have a car with new tires and it will have a full warranty "because everyone knows that when your warranty goes out things start going wrong". Right then, that very moment, I made one of the worst decisions of my life. I was alone that day...I have always had someone with me. Had I had someone with me they would have given me the best advice ever. Shari...just purchase a warranty. You are about to sign a binding contract that will have you paying thousands more at anrate increase of 1.60% interest even though your credit score is the same, if not higher, than when you purchased your 2016 (Terry Wilson did me wrong on this one) and the car you are buying is a base model. It does not have anything (no bells, no whistles) that your previous vehicle did. Yes...after they came to a price I could afford - I did test drive it - basically to make sure it ran. Everything was happening so fast at this point I was a little overwhelmed. I was more concerned about having a warranty than anything else. I even purchased an extended warranty on the car. I drive alot...I spend alot of time in my car. I have been absolutely miserable in this vehicle and I did it to myself. But, I do know this. I did return to the dealership on Fri. May 18th. I dislike this vehicle so much that it took and everyone is so tired of hearing me complain about it they basically said I had to go. I am not a "speak-up" kind of person and I do not like confrontation. I had tears in my eyes - not for pity, but because I am so angry and I hate what I am driving. I looked at Tommie and he knew exactly why I was standing there. I told him...I would like my 2016 car back. I knew, too, the second I drove the 2018 off the lot it depreciated. I know the hardest thing to do at a dealership is to try to get back a car simply because you don't like what you are in. But, I had to try. Tommie wrote down my information again, walked over to General Sales Manager Ronnie Sterling, and about 7 min. later Tommie returned and said "for $10,000.00 down we can put you back in your 2016 Challenger". He said I have to realize that I am in a new one and it just really can't be done. I left the dealership that evening. Yep, still had the tears. Yep, still hate this car every time I walk towards it. It isn't the cars fault. I take full responsibility. I made a totally rash and impulsive decision one morning - simply going to get an oil change. They honestly had no business selling me a new car, although that is their business. I am now driving a model that is so basic it is disgusting. Then it dawned on me...when I returned on that Fri. May 18th...not once was I ever asked or approached with....Shari - let's see if there are any options that we can do to make you a happy and satisfied customer. People will compliment this car, I will thank them, and where I used to share my good experience with this dealership - I will now share how I feel they could have done things much differently to this customer.
    • We remain very disheartened to hear that you are at all dissatisfied with your new vehicle. I hope you will reconsider speaking with me. I would like to work with you to find out what steps we could make to resolve the situation. Sincerely, Angela Blair, 706-597-0062 ext 237

  • Extra Fees

1 out of 5 starsby diggerules on 03/05/2016

While shopping local dealers Thomson Jeep was the most expensive in the area. Also they claimed to be a TrueCar dealer for stress-free upfront pricing. However when I visited I was informed about extra "mandatory fees" that were not included. For example I was informed that the window etching is a mandatory feature on all cars from the factory. Lie. Horrible customer service, Shady business practices. I do not trust them.
  • Excellent Truck Buying Experience!!!

    5 out of 5 starsby Wyatt_Bryan on 01/05/2016

My wife and I just bought a 2015 GMC Sierra from Tommy Jackson at Thomson Motor Centre, I have bought many vehicles from numerous dealerships over the years. I have never really enjoyed the whole sales process, but Tommy made the entire transaction not only painless but seamless as well. He had the Truck detailed and all the paperwork ready to be signed when we arrived, just like we requested. Everyone at the dealership was not only professional but down right genuine when it came to customer service. I absolutely got the impression that they really appreciated our business. They have earned my business and now my loyalty by providing an exceptional Truck buying experience. We will definitely be returning and referring our friends and family to Thomson Motor Centre to do business with Tommy Jackson. Thanks Again, Wyatt and Vickie Bryan
  • A fabulous place to buy a car!

Everyone understands that making a major purchase takes someone special like Thomson Dodge! This is my second purchase new car inventory and hands down you will not pay less anywhere else! The staff does not pressure you one bit, it is like family there! I will highly recommend anyone to buy here. A lifetime i'll continue to do business with Thomson Dodge!
  • Overall not bad

    3 out of 5 starsby scottmcd9999 on 07/29/2007

A typical dealership, they use the same tactics other large dealerships do - the paper with numbers all over it, talking in terms of "payments" instead of actually giving you a price, etc etc. Overall not a bad dealership, but be on your toes when you go in and know what you want and how much you'll pay before you open that door.

Purchased a new vehicle on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. Sales person was Michael C. Mr. C. gave outstanding customer service from start to finish. He couldn't have been more kind and courteous to myself, my husband and our 4 year old granddaughter. My C. (Mike) gave a thorough presentation of the vehicle from top to bottom. Kudos also go out to Quinn, Janie and Kenny D. They also seem to have our best interest at heart, and were very warm and concerned with our vehicle search. My husband and I have already started recommending Thomson Motor Centre to our friends. We hope to have someone in there in the next couple of days looking to purchase a new vehicle. Keep up the excellent service Mike, Quinn, Janie and Kenny. Thank you very much for all you did to assist us.
  • Above and beyond Service

To all potential customers of Thomson Chrysler Dodge Jeep: The reason why I've given the dealer -- and in particular, Val M. -- the highest possible rating is simple: They not only fixed my car, they proactively solved what could have been a very damaging crisis for me and my family personally. My car broke down due to oil-related failure just before the Thomson exit on I-20. Fortunately, I was able to limp into the dealer's Service area, but the engine was shot -- needing replacement, not repair. I was on my way to a career-changing meeting in Atlanta, so my stress level was already high; being late (much less missing the meeting) would have disastrous consequences. Val got me in a rental car within minutes, and said, 'Don't worry -- we'll handle this; call us when you can and we'll give you an update.' I knew immediately the engine would need replacing, and that was a serious concern -- since my family was about to lease a new home involving an expensive move, I knew I could not afford the engine / Labor cost at the time. Val and her team did a thorough diagnostic to pinpoint the reason for the failure, taking numerous pictures and preparing extensive reporting documentation. All I did was notify the company responsible for the improper servicing that caused the problem, and Val took it from there -- communicating assertively and effectively with their Insurance inspector, locating and ordering the engine and promptly installing it. She also made sure that all the rental car expense was covered . . . She even went back to get additional funds to ensure that additional ancillary parts and systems were replaced concurrently with the engine. Of course, the Hyundai they repaired drives great! It's like I have a new car -- and during the entire process, I had ZERO out-of-pocket cost and ZERO hassle securing total reimbursement (because Val did ALL of it). It was literally a Godsend that I had my breakdown within 'coasting distance' of Thomson Chrysler Dodge Jeep. Val saved the day (and our family's budget for the move) with her calm, yet quick action. The business meeting in Atlanta was an enormous success, and I can honestly say I was never remotely inconvenienced during the ordeal. I will tell you with complete conviction that I am more than 100% satisfied with my experience; I am DELIGHTED. I enthusiastically endorse Val and her Service Team for their professionalism, their empathy and creative problem-solving ability. [contact info removed.] Sincerely, Don Borreson

I just wanted to say that Matt is very knowledgeable about the different vehicle that are available at the Thomson Motor Centre. He was very friendly and polite and even though I originally went in looking for a used vehicle, he was able to put me in a brand new Jeep with payments that are well within my budget. I highly recommend this Matt and this dealership.

I purchased a Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn Crew Cab and I love it. The salesman Michael C. was very nice and polite. He offered me beverages why I waited and worked hard to locate my truck. I gave him a budget and he did not exceed it and they actually gave me a reasonable amount for my trade. The people were very nice and I actually enjoyed the experience. Shouts out to the internet Sales Mananger (Janie H.). Wonderful woman, answered all my questions, called frequently to get me to come to thompson, kept me updated while I waited for my vehicle to arrive and offered me any help i needed. She was great and to find out she dont get commission made me feel even better cause that meant her actions was genuine and from the heart.Great job guys and definitely will return when im ready to purchase another vehicle.
  • Buyer Beware

What a bad experience! I bought a used PT Cruiser from Thomson Chrysler Dodge Jeep, and have experienced numerous problems, including a sunroof that wouldn't close the first time it was opened (before we even got it home), a very loose engine mount, 3 leaking transmission covers, 3 different makes/models of tires on the car, etc, etc. Not only that, but when I went to register the vehicle, I found that they had not done the emissions testing they were supposed to do whenever they sell a used car. Two phone calls got no satisfaction, and two emails (to the sales mgr and the owner) were ignored. I have purchased nearly 30 vehicles in my life, and have never had such a bad experience. I might expect this lack of professionalism from a fly-by-night used car lot, but not from a supposed reputable dealer. Buyer beware.
    • Please contact one of the owners, Beth Grant, directly so we can work together to make you happy. Her contact is (706) 986-5616. To address your concerns directly, you bought the car "as is". As the consumer, you are also responsible for emissions testing in your area. In our region, we do not have emissions testing requirements. We look forward to hearing from you.

From the moment I stepped on the lot I was treated as a serious customer. I am young and female, so being treated as suck is hard to come by when stepping into a car dealership. He listened to my needs, and even helped the people who were with me (who were elderly) by riding them in a golf cart. After finding the right car suited for me he worked around my schedule to find a day that I could sign for it. However, that Saturday when I came in at 9:00 am, it took us until 1 pm to get everything straight. Sitting up there for four hours was worth it though, because in that time he worked diligently to get me the best deal possible for my first car! Thanks again!

I have pervously purchase 3 vehicles from this dealership and have received great service each time I visted to purchase or have my vehicles services. I always go in with a price that I'm willing to pay and I've gotten or came to a price I was willing to pay each time. And would recommend the dealership and the salesman and credit manager that I dealt with.

I had went to the restroom and when I got back the deal was complete. She knew it was the truck I wanted but I would never paid the price. I tried to talk to the sales manager but he was truly in my face. My wife told me it was her fault and just forget it. I will never buy another one from Thompson or will never tell someone to buy from them
    • I am sorry you were not satisfied and would be happy to address your concerns. Please feel free to call my direct line 706-986-5616. Sometimes the sales managers do get excited but I don't think they would get angry in anyway. We also have to walk a fine line between husband and wife. Some wives resent and find it a little insulting having to wait for their husbands feeling like they can't make a decision with out them. I do not know what happen. Are you really mad at the dealership or mad at your wife? Please give me a call so that we can discuss what happen while you were here and give us a chance to make it right.
