  • 2023 Bolt EUV

    We purchased a MY2023 Bolt EUV to replace our 10 year old Nissan Leaf. We shopped online and thought we found the perfect one at available at your dealership. But by the time we arrived the next day the car had already been sold. But then Jackson Morris went to work to find us another vehicle matching out at a sister dealer location so we proceeded to draw up purchase agreement on this other car sight unseen. The next day we learned that car too had already been sold and was no longer available. But again, Jackson looked far and wide to find us the right vehicle. He found us a beautiful car that had everything we wanted and more. And best of all Jackson & Greg gave us an absolutely incredible price that kept us within our tight budget! Even though Jackson was new to John Thornton, his friendliness and communication greatly enhanced our experience. Everyone at the dealership was very friendly and welcoming. Great job!

  • BAD SERVICE TODAY

    ABS Service light came on after vehicle was serviced at John Thornton Yesterday. Manger advised it could be from oil change. I agree but they did do their 13 point check and rotated my tires. I don’t know but I do know before going their I didn’t have any problems and the service advisor also advised there were no problems. So the manager advised it would be 5 days to schedule another appointment and that I would have to pay for a diagnostic for my breaking system.

    Because this is such a wonderful vehicle, I purchased it at the end of the lease. Dan and Russ were incredible in making this a seamless transition. My vehicle was inspected, rims repaired, appropriate services rendered, thoroughly cleaned plus received an excellent offer for new tires. I have been trading for many many years with Dan Ramsdell and his team. This experience is once again reason to make the John Thornton family of dealerships my only source for our family vehicles. Highly recommend this team now, just as I did three years ago. Thank you!!! The lease of my new 2020 Chevy Blazer was flawless. This was the third vehicle that I've leased from Dan Ramsdell. We have worked out the details on this transaction (all three) via email. I took limo from Atlanta airport to John Thornton Chevrolet, they opened at 8am just for me. All documents were ready, I only had to sign them and was our in thirty minutes. This gorgeous Black Blazer AWD 3LT has been detailed, filled up with gas, my all weather floor mats put in place and temporary license applied for tag with requested black license plate frame. Derek Strickland saw to it that everything was orchestrated perfectly and my transaction was seamless and most enjoyable. I will definitely trade with these professionals once again and highly recommend others to visit John Thornton Chevrolet!!

  • An Unfortunate Experience

    My experience began with me searching the online inventory. I found a vehicle that interested me and made an appointment to check it out. Arrived at dealership and asked to see the vehicle in question. Which was a red Equinox LT. My mistake at this point was not making sure that I was being shown the same vehicle that I had seen online, However I thought that this was the case and we went for a test drive. I mentioned I had seen the vehicle online was expecting to pay the online price. Upon returning from test drive. I stated that I was interested in the vehicle and wanted to discuss trade in and price etc to see we could agree to a deal. After trade in details and removal of coating add ons and applying some sort of discount for a Costco membership we agreed to a price very close to what I was expecting and I agreed to purchase the vehicle (still assuming the vehicle is the one and only vehicle I had test drove and still parked 20 feet from where we were sitting and since I had not even laid eyes on any other vehicles). My representative stated that he was going fill the tank and get the car ready for delivery while I was finishing the paperwork with the finance department. At this point I was satisfied with the process and very happy to be making the purchase. Paperwork having been completed. It is now well after dark and time to take delivery. There is a Red Equinox LT that has full gas tank and ready to go. It is unimaginable that this was a different vehicle than the one that I had test drove. So when the seats looked a little different shade I thought it was the lighting after dark that made them appear different. So off I went in My new vehicle. The next day in the light it was obvious this was not the car I test drove. I of course phoned my representative ( I do not mention his name because I feel he acted as directed by the Sales Manager who name is Derek S.) My rep was apologetic and stated that the car I received was the one I saw online. I of course said that may well be true and can understand how that can happen, but cannot understand how I could be told this during the process. He apologized again and took responsibility for the mistake. I stated that I appreciated the apology and but asked he speak to his management team and get back to me with possible resolution to this "mistake". I received a call from Derek S. the "Sales Manager" who was there the night before and was the person that approved on final numbers from the negotiations the previous night. I asked if had he been filled in as to what had happened. He said yes and basically blamed my rep for the "mistake" my personal belief he new exactly what was going on the night before. He then gave me a speech about the customer responsibility of making sure of the details while signing paperwork. I admit to making the mistake of trusting a Car Salesman which at 58 I should know better. Derek S. stated during the phone call that he wanted to make it right. I asked what could be done. He offered a couple of oil changes, I was not impressed. I felt we should unwind this deal and see if we can agree on a new one. He then quoted Georgia Law about know cool down period the paperwork is done the customer and no recourse other than live with the deal. Sounds like he has experience with this matters. I requested that he get with superiors and get back to me with possible remedies. He stated that he wants to make it right but I would need to suggest the remedy. I left it there hoping for a return call. Having not received a return call I stopped by that evening hoping to come up with a solution. Again Derek S. expressed an interest to do "anything to make it right" these were just empty words. The only thing he was willing to do is a couple of free oil changes. I suggested that if that all you can offer I should at least get free oil changes for the life of the warranty, His response was I cannot do that as if the request was outrageous. So I asked again what do he mean by wanting to do "anything to make it right" apparently that anything is confined to 3 oil changes". I left John Thornton Chevrolet very disappointed. It is my hope that this is not general practice at Thornton Chevrolet. The mistake was acknowledged but the response was in essence, you signed the paperwork there is nothing we are going to do. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this dealership based on my experience.

    The service that was done didn't take a long time. My husband bought my truck in to to service for a light that was on. I was able to call and talk with the service advicer with no problem.

    Brought my Silverado in for a routine oil change & tire rotation, plus a 'service wash.' Service adviser noted that it was due (at just over 50,000 miles) for engine and cabin air filter element replacement and kept me informed as to the progress of the work. Everything was completed within the estimated time, with no 'surprises.'

    I brought my Silverado in for routine service (oil change, filter, tire rotation) as well as an air bag reprogramming recall after I had made an appointment a few days earlier. The job was completed within the time estimated, with no "surprises," just as I've come to expected from the Service Dept.

    I made an appointment with the Service Dept. for a vibration problem that I had recently started to notice on my Silverado. The symptoms and research I had done seemed to point to the shock absorbers, which I thought might have a valve problem and it looked like they might be losing hydraulic fluid. The shocks checked out OK, and my Service Advisor Chris took me back to talk with the technician about my problem, which seemed to fit a pattern of circumstances. I came in expecting that I might need new shocks, and they could very easily have sold me a set, which would have been an expensive repair, as my truck was off warranty. Instead, they gave me other things to consider. I wasn't charged for the diagnostics, and the other item I came in for, a safety recall repair, was handled very quickly. I have been a customer of John Thornton Chevrolet for 11 years now, and I appreciate their honesty - they want to do what's right to keep their customers.

    I had set up an appointment to take care of an ignition key recall in advance with service advisor Brad the day before as new keys had to be cut. Although Brad was out when I brought the car in, Tim had the new keys ready, minimizing my time spent at the dealership. My car also had a routine oil change done while I was there. There were no surprises and the work was done when promised.

    I purchased a set of tires for my Silverado, and the job was handled as I expected, with no surprises. I had set up this visit with service advisor Brad a few days earlier, going over the various tires available for my truck and selecting a brand and tire that suited my needs. The tires were there when I brought the truck in, and were mounted quickly, minimizing my time waiting.

    This is the third vehicle I have purchased from John Thornton Chevrolet. Each experience has been hassle free and a great experience. My kids and I always love visiting John Thornton Chevrolet. They have a wonderful showroom which always has some great vehicles within it. The place is always clean and the workers within are always professional and friendly. I have already recommended John Thornton to all my friends and family and I would look nowhere else for my future Chevrolet purchases.
