Too many issues
by shobbick on 03/27/2020I initiated conversation to purchase a vehicle remotely. I recently purchased one through Atlantic Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram. Let me tell you, Atlantic made it easy as possible to purchase a Jeep without stepping foot on the lot. We traded in… an older Silverado. The sales rep even brought the forms and met me at work to sign them! When I wanted to buy a Toyota, my experience was far from the same. There were multiple issues that kept cropping up and eventually I cancelled the sale. I NEVER saw the car, never took possession but just got off the phone with the DMV folks because they were getting ready to suspend my license because I didn't have insurance on this car that I NEVER saw in person! Ridiculous and the salesman is quick to tell me they have nothing to do with the DMV! Well, the DMV wouldn't be trying to do this if the dealership hadn't told them I bought a car. The whole situation is laughable because they seemed like they didn't want to make the sale, they kept bringing up issues that needed to be resolved. Let me tell you this is now the icing on the cake. I had to pay the DMV to clear my license!Thank you for taking the time out to write a review about your experience. Extremely unprofessional, awful experience!
by Kristen on 03/30/2018Extremely dissatisfied with this car dealership. I was in this dealership working with Daniel Peel in purchasing a new car earlier this week. I sat in the dealer for a few hours Monday trying to figure out payments, what I could get for my… trade-in, etc. I am moving out of the state Monday, so he knew I needed to get all of this done before leaving. Finally, upon agreeing on a deal, Daniel tells me to go home with the car I am trading in and he will call me later in the week to come sign paperwork and give them my trade in. The car I wanted was coming from Orlando so the dealer wouldn't receive it until March 28. It is now the 30th and I have yet to hear back from Daniel, I called the dealership only for him to tell me they sold the car we had agreed on me purchasing. I am beyond frustrated with this whole situation. I feel that Daniel Peel was very unprofessional regarding this entire situation; he never even called me back to let me know he had sold the car to someone else. He has "surf instructor" cards on his desk, looks like he is more interested in providing surf lessons than selling cars. I feel as though Daniel knew I would be desperate to sell my car, seeing that I am moving all the way across the country next week, so he pulled this whole scheme to get me to settle and buy a different car that they have on their lot, one that I don't really want. Upon informing me that my car was sold, he offered my different colors, etc. Seeing that I have already given my debit card information to leave a deposit on the car I chose, this should not have happened, nor been a discussion.TERRIBLE DEALERSHIP!!!!!!
by kleonard18 on 03/19/2017i am extremely aggravated i have been going back and fourth with this dealership, the only reason we even went here was because my fiance loves hondas they are amazing cars mind you i work at a dealership so i know how a customer should be… treated i have not had one good experience, i have been trying to call and the voice recording does not tranfer me but hang up on me i need paperwork filled out i have been calling for over two weeks and have still not recieved a call back my fiance is now on his way to the dealership to figure everything out and they are not helping us out in anyway PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF AND DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP if you want a honda go to daytona or go to another dealership such as toyota just do not go to coggins honda st. augastine unless your ready to be toyed and played with anytime you need help!!!!!!We apologize for the miscommunication you experienced. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE
by jondelconte on 02/04/2016Hello, my name is Jonathan Delconte, I'm 20 years old and living far away from home for college. Recently I scraped together enough money to buy a car from Coggin Honda in Saint Augustine. I made the mistake of buying this car "As Is". The… day after purchasing this car, the service engine light came on. And then shortly after the service engine light came on, the front bumper fell off while it was parked. I brought it in to be serviced by them. I was assured that my car was in okay condition when I bought it, and when I brought it in to be serviced. Then after the problems with my car continued, Coggin Honda told me to bring it to Audi, (The car was an Audi) so they could fix it. They told me that they would cover ALL of the costs. I brought it to Audi, who told me that the car had 2 oil leaks, that had likely been there for a while, (and at this point I had only had the car for a couple weeks). They told me it would be about $1,500 to $2,000 to fix this. Coggin Honda denied ever telling me they would cover anything. I made the mistake of not getting it in writing. After arguing with them over it, they eventually decided they would cover $300 of repairs at the max. Every little bit helps, but that wasn't enough. After having the oil leaks repaired, things were okay for a few days. Thankfully I had a way to get to my college classes. Now, my transmission is completely fried. I have to bring it to Audi to fix, which costs about $4,000. I paid $6,000 for this car, and it's already around $8,000 just to get it working properly. My point, I feel I've been defrauded. I was assured that I was buying a car, but in reality I purchased a pile of metal parts that don't work.Jonathan, again I apologize for any inconvenience or frustrations what you may have experienced at our dealership. The salesperson was helpful and gave us a good "out the door" price. The color we wanted was not in stock but… they offered to bring one in I think from Orlando. We were called when the vehicle came in and we returned and purchased the vehicle without problems or any high pressure.Friendly dealership that's willing to negotiate

Some salesman I encountered were actually even hostile. Coggin St. Augustine is not one of… those dealerships. They knew that I was price shopping, but were willing to sit down with me even before I had decided to buy a Honda. Throughout the entire process the internet salesman, Quintin McMillan, was courteous, informative, kept in contact and is highly recommended. After comparing quotes from 8 different dealerships, Coggin St. Augustine was able to not only match, but actually beat the best quote I had received. My advice if you're looking at purchasing a Honda - do your homework, but make sure to fit in a visit to this dealership before you buy.Best experience ever

There is a kids area with videogames that kept my nephew occupied the whole time.… Best experience in buying a new car.Good Experience

by andrews3 on 06/28/2008I have called the dalership and talked to one of the New car salesperson on phone regarding new CRV. The salesperson insisting on me to come to the dealership. I was not intersted in going to dealership till I have a reasonable price.… Finally I did get a price, based on that I visited the dealership. Once at dealership the price started changing for the same car we discussed on the phone. I felt like I was tricked into getting to the dealership. As usual they played the game where a saleperson goes to the sales manager for price review and disaper for 15 minutes. Finally they brought their best price which was $ 1,000 more that they quaoted on the phone. At this point I was totaly disgusted , I left the dealership, went to a dealership in Jacksonville and purchase the same car for $ 1,500 less that Coggins Honda price.JC C is tops!
