    Service staff are friendly but the fee they charge for an oil change is ridiculous. My other vehicle is Lexus and when I go for an oil change the dealer provides me with a loaner plus all the amenities and still charge less than Ford. Second thing I’m having issues with the wired apple CarPlay, connection issues and static interference. I left the vehicle overnight at the dealership. Next morning I was told nothing was wrong with the vehicle. This is a brand new vehicle so I’m wondering if I make a mistake buying a Ford.

  • Poor service

    Beware any letters from AutoNation Margate that advise you to come in to fix a Recall. That is simply a lure to get you to come in and hopefully pay for another service. It does not mean they can fix it. Summer 2024, we were advised that Ford Corporation had advised this recall should NOT be taken care of. When AutoNation Margate sent us a letter in December 2024 advising us to make an appointment to fix it, we were cautious. We called a number of times to confirm they could do the fix, that 'they have the part', even though we heard 2 years ago it would be a 'software fix. We told them we had to be certain because we had it in storage, and would only take it in to be ready for a 3,000 mile drive in 2 months. Numerous service department employees confirmed that it was not just a software update, they had the part, and that it would "take 5-6 hours to accomplish the repair". We took our F150 out of storage, first contacting our Insurance company to revise our policy to put it back on the road--costing us money. We brought it in at 9:30 am. We returned that afternoon to find NO REPAIR WAS DONE. NOTHING. They stated the same thing we had been told by numerous other Ford Service departments across the country over the past year: Ford is not fixing this recall. A waste of our time, 3 hours of driving back and forth, AND the additional insurance cost of taking it out of storage. Wrong on so many levels. To end: the service manager apologized. He said it was an automated letter. Sorry: not helpful: Why justify the fact that both Ford +AutoNation won't bother fixing a recall, rather state they have been instructed to only fiz them when the vehicle becomes unsafe. Huh? On the plus side: everyone is friendly and helpful. I do not fault the first technician we worked with: he was new. I fault FORD corporation's and local management's ethics.

  • Service Advisor, Maria and AutoNation Margate, FL is the BOMB!

    Maria in the Service Department at AutoNation Ford in Margate has gone above and beyond the call of duty. We were disappointed Florida's Grieco Ford Dealers. They kept out car for 8 days for a recall that never got fixed. Their inconsiderate service department did not care about me or my valuable time. We decided to bring our new Bronco Sport to AutoNation Ford in Margate to get help with our vehicle issues & problems left by Grieco. Thanks to Maria and AutoNation for helping us with this variety of issues which included a the recall problem (never fixed by Grieco) and a transmission issues which led to a transmission replacement. Maria got the approval from Ford to cover the cost of the replacement. These issues on our 3 month old Bronco Sport were quite discouraging, but Maria and AutoNation got the problem fixed without hassles or long periods without our car. I would recommend AutoNation Ford Margate to everyone who wants a Ford or owns a Ford. Don't forget to see Maria for your service department needs. She is the example of how a service department should respect their customers and handle their issues efficiently and with a smile. We have so far had an excellent experience with Maria and AutoNation Ford Margate.

    They sold me an SUV with a bad engine in it. In fact, the engine failed on the ride home. There is no way this vehicle was inspected prior to the sale because this failed engine would have been caught. After I called to report it, they told me “it’s a good thing I bought the extended warranty” and stopped taking my calls. I wasted hours on the phone trying to get in touch with someone there. Each time I called after, they either did not answer or someone would tell me everyone is in meetings and can’t talk now. It’s unbelievable! Since I bought this vehicle from them, it’s been sitting in a dealer service shop for over a week so far and now, I am trying to figure out how to get around without a car while I’m waiting as the warranty company investigates this shady dealer. I am consulting with my attorney because this is by far THE WORST, most unprofessional and corrupt dealership experience I’ve ever had in purchasing a vehicle in my life. IF you are considering this dealership, do yourself a favor and DONT! Go to another dealer who actually values your business and will have integrity behind the products they sell. THIS dealership doesn’t care about anything but the sale and once they get you to sign, they could care less about what happens after. The best advice I can offer anyone is STAY FAR AWAY!!! I posted this review on Google and the General Manager requested that I call to work it out. I called them and when I told the person who I was, they literally hung up on me. So DONT fall for the generic & insincere dealer replies to these reviews either

    I brought my 2018 Ford Explorer into AutoNation Margate for a "wind" noise that sounded like it was coming from around the windshield or from behind the dashboard. Jose, the service advisor listened to my description and said it sounded like a plastic part at the bottom of the windshield. He took me out to my car to show me what he was talking about. I asked him for a rough estimate. He was reluctant to give me a number but offered $600 to $800, then said $400 to $600, then said, he wasn't really sure. That he could give me a better price once the tech looked at it. We went back inside where he informed me I would be charged $199.95 for diagnosing the problem, then he would call me with the price. I agreed. He called & texted me the next day with a price of $1011 dollars. I asked him in a text if he could give me the part number & name of the part so I could look it up and ascertain if I could make the repairs myself. I felt like it was a reasonable request since I was already into AutoNation for $199.95 to diagnose the problem. I talked with him on the phone later and he told me it was against AutoNation policy to give the part number and description. He was professional and kind but was not able to give me the info. He asked me if I wanted them to do the work or if I planned to pick up the car. I explained to him I wasn't expecting the price to be so high and I wasn't certain I could afford the repair. We talked a bit more, he told me my original concern about the windshield wasn't a safety issue, that I could continue driving the car if the noise wasn't too bothersome. And then asked me, if there was a price I had in mind for the repairs. I told him since he had given me the ballpark prices earlier when I brought the car in, that I was thinking the price wouldn't be over $800. He said he would talk to his manager and get back to me. About 15 minutes later, he called and said they could do $800 and I authorized the work. Approx 2 hours later, he called and said the work was done, I could pick it up. The next morning I picked the car up and paid Jose for the services and thanked him for helping me out. The repair took care of the noise and I was very happy. After I got home, I used the invoice to look up the part and how to make the repair myself. This is the 3rd Explorer I've had. My 2nd one was only 2 years old when it started making the exact same noise. I traded it before it needed to be repaired. I was understandably curious since I had experienced this problem before. And also because Jose, my service advisor, seemed to know right away what the problem was. Anyway, as I researched the problem on the internet, I found out this is a common problem. I also found out the part could be bought for around $200 from a Ford dealer or a little less in the aftermarket. As far as making the repairs, YouTube is full of step by step video instructions on how to make this fast and easy repair. As I do most of my home repairs and a lot of the stuff on my cars, I could have easily done this work in a couple hours or less, which is more or less what it took the tech to do it at AutoNation. Guess my long-winded review can be summed up by a few questions and conclusions. One, it's clear that Ford knows this is a problem by the quick informal diagnostic from my service advisor and also by all the comments on YouTube. Two, I was charged $481 incl tax for the labor to diagnose & make the repair. Based on my research, I'm confident it they could have done it in a couple hours at most, for much less cost. Three, I was charged $314 incl tax for the part. I found a genuine Ford part for under $200 but with shipping it may have been closer to AutoNation's cost. At the end of the day, I can't say I'm sorry I had the repairs done at AutoNation. They dealt with me professionally and did a good job. But I felt like they could have been a little more transparent and honest so I could feel better about my decision to move forward with them. We are a Ford family. My wife drives a 2018 Escape, I've bought two cars from them this dealership, had collision work done twice in their body shop, and up to now, had all of my repairs handled by them. I have submitted this as a positive but fair and honest review with a narrative that qualifies how I feel about the transaction. The service people are excellent (Jose was one of the best I've dealt with there), and I think they do the best job they can given their management direction. But I think AutoNation as a whole could do a better job of trying to keep loyal customers loyal.

  • Didn't complete service and lied about it

    Had an 8:00 appt. for oil change, tire rotation and balance however didn't get vehicle back till after 3 pm. We asked several times if tires were done and repeatedly told they were. We marked tires prior to service-no tire rotation nor balance.

  • Buyer Beware!

    I have purchase 3 E-Transit vans and a F-150 Lightning and have never been so disappointed in my life with a dealership. I now have 99+ messages showing problems with all of them. These are for a business and we are told they will have to keep them for extended periods to fix all the problems. Each van will lose approximately $1,000.00 per day while they service department makes the repairs. Even worse, I took my Lightning in for a RECALL only to be told there are 6-8 other problems and they are supposed to see if they have all the parts to do the repairs and let me know how long it will take. Margate Ford was very dishonest with me prior to the sales and cannot give me loaner vans. The service "person" said they can only give loaners when they become available from the sales department. Meanwhile, I'm out $1,000.00 per day in lost revenue. They don't care about that part. Right now, I'm at Home Depot picking up all the materials I need to make signs to carry in front of Margate Ford on Copans Road. I will never trust Margate Ford again. They'll promise you the best service in town (Until you actually need it). I believe the lemon law may apply to some of the notifications I've been receiving.
