Extremely helpful and best of all, he got us a flippin' AWESOME deal (I know because I've been shopping for a used Subaru for months and knew what was out there). Definitely not like… your stereotypical "vulture" car sales type. No Bait and Switch Tricks or Gimmicks!
by DianaTra on 11/11/2016Our worn out 2003 Honda Civic finally gave out on me and it was time to be a grown up and buy a car. I dreaded the thought of having a car payment again but after having my car overheat 3 times in the last year, I was absolutely sure that… Id was going to go new over used. So after about 2 weeks of obsessed research over auto financing, figuring out the type of car and which dealerships to go through I ended up at Kirby Subaru of Ventura (KSV). I sent an internet inquiry on a New 2016 Subaru Impreza w/Sports Package to Papa at KSV and he contacted me almost right away. Not only was he pleasant to speak to over the phone but most importantly he seemed very up front and honest. I told him my budget and he respected it and though wasnt able to get to the numbers exactly, he got close enough and thats when my husband and I decided to drive the 80+ miles roundtrip to check out the car. We walked up to the lot and Francisco greeted us first, not in a cheesy salesman kind of way but in a friendly hey, how are you? kind of way. I told him that wed already spoken to Papa about a specific vehicle and thats when he disappeared for a few minutes and came back with the keys in his hands. We spent probably about 20 mins test driving cars etc. until we told Francisco we were ready to make a deal on the New 2016 Subaru Impreza w/Sports Package. And thats when we entered the dreaded negotiating chamber. To our amazement, Francisco was so pleasant to deal with. We chatted about marriage, kids, etc. before getting down to the nitty gritty. Long story short, the negotiations took about 30 mins and we were off with the car we wanted, price we budgeted for and pride in our eyes! One hiccup happened just as we were about to leave the lot, Francisco was helping me sync my iphone and I became very frustrated because the voice command wasnt working quick enough and my contacts were being uploaded in reverse of how they were saved in my phone (first, last). He could see I was upset and told me that hed talk to the service department Monday (we purchased the car on a Sunday) to figure out if this was a common problem. I thought to myself, surrrre, youll get back to me! Well, a couple days later he actually called me back! I was very shocked and smitten at the same time. Bottom line, if you want dread scummy car salesmen then come to KSV!
