by Sandy246 on 03/11/2017Thanks to Amir Fatanat who found our car and who made the purchasing a breeze. It was like spending time with family. He was honest, did what he promised and the process was quick and easy.Unbeatable
by HAChavez on 03/10/2017Best dealership I ever been too. Have been here 3 times to purchase a Honda. Best in the bossiness. George Ezquibel the internet sales manager won't let you down. Honest and great dealsSeamless car buying experience
by timothybrennan on 08/23/2016updated 09/07/2016The Internet team at Freeway Honda provided a great customer buying experience from first contact. They are very responsive and attentive to all information request and also provided great advice and insight. They make you feel welcomed and… valued. There were no aggressive sales tactics and everything was pretty straight forward. Jorge Esquivel was my salesman, and he did an outstanding job of providing excellent customer service and was very accommodating with his schedule. He even waited for us and stayed late after his normally scheduled shift for us to come in and purchase the car. This made the entire car buying experience seamless from the beginning to the end. Thank you to the team at Freeway Honda!Do Not Trust Freeway Honda
by Carbuyer071216 on 07/13/20167/9 - The sales guy's name was Jose. We found two used 2013 Honda Civic on Edmunds. He quickly came back with one. When we asked about the other, he took us all in the car and drove to the back and said it looks like it was sold. Not sure… how he was able to tell when he literally drove passed all the cars without looking but we didn't think anything. So we test drove the one civic he picked us up in. He brought us inside to start negotiating. We told him that we found this on Edmunds and gave him the price. Jose quoted us $14,500. The price on Edmunds website was $13,900. So he said that's the lowest they can go. We then said well the price was different since the price was crossed out on the site. He said what is it, we said $13,600. I showed it to him he said ok that's the final price then. So we said you haven't even looked at anything aside from what we said. He said there are several different websites so prices are different on every site. We showed him another comparable LX from another site at $12,499. He said, "well they don't certify their Honda." We said we understand but we are a Honda family and Hondas that are less than 5 years old typically don't have issues. We kept saying can you get close to it. He said that's the final price and we said how do you know. Up until now you haven't even looked at anything in your computers or even asked your fleet manager. He then proceeded with, "well tell me what number you want." We again said we already told you that we wanted Close to the number we showed from the other dealer amount and now it's your turn to come back to us with how close an offer you can get. He literally went around in circles saying this was the best price. When we said well then that's not what we want to pay so are you telling us that we should walk. He proceeded again and went around in circles and said if you tell me what your price is, I'll see what my manager says. We said the same thing, said let's not play this game and waste each other's time- we already gave you the price we want. He again said that's probably not doable and we said then tell us what is- but he kept hesitating. At the end, he gets up and walks away. Of course, The minute he walked away pissed me off. Is this how you treat your customers??? I walked over yelling after him asking who is manager was. He took me over to Rich, who basically was probably surprised I made such a scene.. There is no way I'm going to let a kid walk away like that. Rich better get some training in with your reps about customer service. This is a dealership and people come in to negotiate. If you are not willing to negotiate, don't use the "four square" paper tactic and walk away when you're not satisfied. After we got in our car, the online sales rep came over to talk to us. Amir Fatanat. Very pleasant. Tried to get us not to drive off. Gave us his card, said he would like to work with us since he deals with online sales. I had told Rich that I was going to write this review and of course Amir stated that he would appreciate it if we didn't and that he would try to work with us. He asked us what car we were looking at and said for us to wait, he left and came back and wrote the figure $12,900 on the back of his business card. Said that if that works, he would like to sell us the car. We said we would think about it since we really didn't want to lose our business. We told him we would contact him the following day if interested. He said no worries he was leaving for the day already since it was already close to 5p. 7/10: We decided not to post to see what type of dealings we would have with the online sales guy. We sent him and email and he responded. Said that the civic we were looking at was sold the night before. He said the other civic that was posted was still available. Interesting- the exact stock # and vin that Jose had taken us to the back lot and said it was sold. Unfortunately, Amir said the price was $13,600 per Edmunds site and that he couldn't go down to $12,900. So we said thanks and ended the call. 7/12- Interesting enough I waited to enter this review until today. I went online to Edmunds today only to find that the original civic - same stock # and same Vin is still online and available?? Only now the price on Edmunds is $14,900. $1K higher. So that's it. Facts of how untrustworthy this dealership can be. Be forewarned.Easy to work with
by hallowsfanatic on 10/07/2014I have worked with this dealership on several occasions, and they are always so easy to work with. Megan is so friendly and very helpfulCan't trust these guys
by yellowjacket91 on 07/24/2014Negotiated a price over the phone. They started to hustle me once I arrived with my family to pick the car up. Tried to trick me into signing a financing contract I did not need then insisted that this was normal. Left with a bad taste in… my mouth after wasting 4 hours. Walked over to another dealer and got the same price with no hassle the same day.geoffrey dooley
by opuanzpahia on 10/14/2010Excellent experience dealing with this Honda Dealer. I was sent there by my daughter who lives in Lake Forest and I live in Riverside Ca. I knew the car I was looking for as I found it on line, a Honda Accord with low mileage. I was very… well taken care of from the time I got there with my wife. We worked with Ole Pineda and I had talked to the General Manager the day before by phone so everything was handled excellently. I met the Used Car Manager, made my decision and then met with the Finance Manager as well as Jeff Voechting the General Manager. I would strongly recomend this dealership to any prospective Honda buyers as they are willing to work with you at all levels.Great Experience!
by valkarl on 09/23/2010I just wanted to say that the sales manager Sal at Freeway Honda was amazing! He worked with me to get a great finance rate for a 2007 Honda Accord I had leased for 36 months and had decided to purchase by financing. I do not have the best… credit (nor the worst) however he was able to negotiate a solid interest rate based on Tier 1 credit with Honda Financial due to my payment history with Honda. He made me feel as if he really cared and did not give up when I was not able to the first appointment we had scheduled. I just came back from the second appointment and am a very happy and satisfied customer! My understanding is that they have recently revamped their dealership and brought in some different people. The new team seems to really focus on the customer and I would recommend stopping by their dealership and checking them out. It's worth your while!Beware....they are straight out [violative content deleted]!!!!!
by caeaglesgirl on 05/17/2010My husband and I decided that it is a good time to buy a car. We have be loyal Honda user for 16 years. Both of our first cars were Hondas and we know and love our Honda vehicles. So, now that we have a baby, we decided that it was time… for a large Honda. We decided on a Pilot. Although, we love the Pilot, we knew, realistically, that we could not afford a new one. We began our search of a pre-owned Pilot and ended up finding one very quickly. It was a pre-owned 2009 Pilot EX for $24,971 at [another dealership] in San Diego. We were unable to purchase it before another buyer stepped in a got it. We were very disappointed, but knew we could find another incredible deal, if we were patient. Not too long after that car, I found another 2009 Honda Pilot EX at Freeway Honda in Santa Ana. I found the car on a the Auto Trader website. I immediately emailed the contact person, Amir. He emailed me back, immediately, and said that the car was available for sale. My husband also spoke with him on the phone and he said it was available and that he would be at the dealership at 9:30AM the next morning (May 15, 2010) for me to see it. Amir told my husband that the car was in the process of being detailed while he was talking to him. My husband and I were very excited that we may have finally found our family car. Since we both work in retail, we hardly ever have time off together, especially on a weekend. The plan was that I would go look at the car at 9:30AM and then we could go back and get it later that day, if I liked it. The next morning, I got a babysitter for my son, and took off to the Honda dealership which happened to be 30 miles away. I arrived at 9:40AM and went into the showroom. I was immediately approached by a man and I asked for Amir. The man said that Amir was not in, but that he could help me. I was already disappointed with the customer service because I had agreed to meet Amir and he didn't even show up. I explained the situation and he said that we needed to go find the car first. After walking the entire lot, we found the car in the back and the words "body" and "detail" were printed on the windshield. That did not stop the gentleman from opening the car and allowing me to explore it. Then he said that we should take it for a test drive. I agreed and we went on a 20 minute test drive. When we returned, we sat down in the show room and started talking about the price. I had already asked 3 or 4 times for the price of the car, even though I already had the price in an email. I told him we would be financing and that I had, at least, $8000 cash down-payment. After he filled out the paperwork, I sat and waited for a few minutes while he talked to Bill, the finance manager. When the man got back, Amir magically appeared and introduced himself. We chatted a bit about the iPad and then he started talking about the car. I opened the email from him stating that the car was $25,795 and on the table was the customer proposal sheet with $27,795 written on it. I began to question Amir about the price and he started to explain that the AutoTrader website pulled the inventory information from them simply to fill an empty spot on the website. He said that they did not post the information that AutoTrader "took it" from them. I proceed to show him the email and then Amir said, and I quote, "It was a typo." I also showed him the listing from the actual website and he said "That was also a typo." Wow, the same typo in two different spots. What a coincidence!!! Now Amir was telling me that the car wasn't ready for sale, even though I had already driven it and no mention had been made about the car not being for sale up until this point. I told him how upset I was that I had been swindled by them and that they had wasted my time by lying to me about a car. I explained that they had falsely advertised the car in ordered to get me into the dealership. I also told him how upset I was because I hadVERY SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES! DISHONEST SALES PEOPLE!
by occhick on 01/29/2010Beware of this dealership! I am a female cash buyer who wanted to purchase a CRV LX. I dealt with 2 people Brad Oland & Bill Dinnie (the manager & extremely rude!). I liked the vehicle and after lengthy discussion I was asked about my… driver's license...I obliged with that. I was told that they had to check if I truly was who I was by running the credit check....????? Remember it is a full cash transaction! We did not seal the deal, we were negotiating, they knew I was a cash buyer....I know now I should have walked out of there the minute they asked about my personal data... We did not agree on the price after all, which is OK. I am working with other dealers right now. My mistake was that I signed the credit report application and allowed them to get a copy of my license... Just know that dealership can be fined by FTC up to $2500 for doing this. Do not give out your driver's license, your s/s and any personal data before you have the agreement in writing and you are actually purchasing from this dealer. I learned my lesson! Stay away from this dealership!Service is pretty lacking
by newcarbuyer7 on 04/21/2008I bought a Honda Civic after getting an internet quote from them, which included destination charge. Price was okay but they tacked on another $300 on the stupid mudguards/installation. Then, they would not give me the full set of keys… because they claimed the other key is in storage and it takes a while to get the key. [violative content deleted]?!? I told them to send it to me by certified mail or FedEx and they still haven't done it. I'm just sorry I told them to put down whatever for a customer survey @ the end so I could get out of there. Major buyer's remorse...I should have walked out of there when they were taking forever to collect $ but I got tired of going to dealers.Quoted Internet price may not be what you will pay...
by tjka on 12/31/2007I was quoted a price via email on a 2008 Odyssey van from an Internet salesman from Honda of Santa Ana. The quoted price stated that it includes the destination charge. I decided to purchase the vehicle from the dealer. After test… driving the vehicle, I sat down with the Internet salesman and at that point he said that there was a mistake with the quoted price. He said that the quoted price actually does not include the destination charge. Being that the price quoted was about $3000 below the MSRP, I gave a him benefit of doubt and still proceeded with the purchase. Next up was the F&I guy. This guy I thought was the most crooked as he tried to sell me an alarm system that he said was already installed in the vehicle but in fact there was no such thing installed. Even though I did purchase the vehicle from this dealer, after my experience, I would not recommend it.Buyer Beware - Dishonest business practiced at this Internet/Fleet dept.
by trige on 11/02/2007Upon submitting a request for quote from Edmunds.com, I received an email from one of the Internet/Fleet representatives from Santa Ana Honda. After a few exchanges of email and some clarifications over the phone, I decided that I would… like to purchase a car from this dealership. I called the Internet/Fleet representative to tell him the good news, that I decided I was going to come into the dealership to purchase the vehicle at the price we agreed-upon both in our email collaboration as well as over the phone. This is when I received the news that they make a "mistake" on the price quote. The Internet/Fleet representative stated that although they quoted the correct model, they misquoted the trim and transmission. I stated that they couldn't have because it is indicated in all of our email conversations as well as confirmation and reconfirmation over the phone. The Internet/Fleet representative proceeded to state that they would only sell me the car at the new higher price which was an additional $700 more. Do NOT buy from this dealer. I ended up buying the car from Weir Canyon Honda. They were very helpful and HONEST. It is a few miles further down the road (depending on where you are) but the service and deal you will get will be much better than anything Santa Ana Honda will ever offer you.Excellent Deal
by pkbradbury on 09/14/2007The internet salesman ("Raza") gave me an unbeatable purchase price on an Odyssey and an even more unbeatable trade -in on my CRV. What's more, he was pleasant, courteous and efficient to deal with in person.. Recommended.Great Dealership!
by megankp on 08/13/2007This truly has been the best car buying experience that I have been through. The Fleet/Internet manager is a great salesman. He as very accomodating and knowledgable. I will definitely buy from this dealership again.I love my CR-V
by masonj on 06/21/2012updated 08/08/2025I had the best experience ever at Freeway Honda, Amir my sales man treated me with respect and stuck to the price that was quoted (I did my reaserch on edmunds so I knew it was a good price). I have had experiences at other dealers where… you have to finance with them or buy the extras to get the price, but not here. Our wait to sign our contracts wasn't too bad either considering they were pretty busy. All in all it was a great experience and I love love love my brand new CR-V.Very pleased with experience at Freeway Honda
by artpeg on 03/22/2013updated 08/08/2025I had researched the car I wanted and went directly to Freeway Honda. I did have other dealerships appointments but wanted to get a couple estimates. Met with J AND G the salesmen. Had a great time negotiating my deal. With the information… EDMUNDS' made available to me. I got what I wanted and the color I wanted.havent had to deal with the service dept. yet. It did take a little longer to prepare the car but the service dept. is in the process of renovation. All in all had a great experience. Even The GSM took time to thank me.Great Experience! Wonderful New Car!
by Ruth77 on 04/12/2013updated 08/08/2025We were referred to Freeway Rick N. and another salesperson. We had been to 3 other dealerships: 2 wouldn't even give us a price quote nor would they appraise our trade-in - don't ask me why! Obviously, we walked out of both those places.… We did get a good quote from another dealership before going to Freeway Honda, which we did last Sunday. We were immediately greeted and said we had an appointment with Rick. He promptly gave us a AAA new car bid and had our trade-in appraised. We told him we could do better elsewhere. He then worked on a better offer for us, involved his sales manager, Sal, and they came up with an offer we couldn't refuse! Then Rick discovered they did not have the color we wanted on their lot but he asked if he could show us another color - one we were not familiar with (we'd missed the Champagne Frost Pearl online). We actually liked this one better - and we ended up driving our new 2013 Accord EX-L home that day! All in all - a great car-buying experience which doesn't happen at a lot of dealerships. Thanks Rick and Sal and everyone who made this come together for us.Freway honda ripped me off
by family524 on 09/13/2011updated 08/08/2025I have purchased 2 Brand new SUVS from Honda, Paid Cash, And Both Times I was screwed.. The first SUV Was A 2011 Piolet... I had a very bad experience with Honda on Harbor In Costa Mesa Ca.. After Spending 40 G's Cash, I was treated very… disrespectful and Unfair.... The manager Phillip straightened everything out by taking care of things swift and easy.... Like a real Pro.... Well, recently, I purchased a 2011 CRV SUV And Once Again, There screwing me... I have had this SUV for 3 months and still have not recieved a Title on my truck, so I picked up the phone and called the DMV and what do you know, they said there is a Lean on my SUV, lol, right, even after i paid cash, plus I dont have my title, they said it was a mistake.... Then we would have to wait another 3 months for the title.... The manager who I spoke with, Jeff Voechting, was rude and showed no apologetic feelings toward my situation after I purchased 2 SUVS cash... Its like were being screwed because of Hondas Mistake but we will not tolerate this situation this time, we have already contacted a Lawyer.... I will make sure everyone all over the world knows how Honda works this time and I will not stop until I am heard world wide or Honda Corrects there mistake.... Izaynedisappointing experience
by vintageclash on 05/08/2012updated 08/08/2025Went to check out a chrysler 300 touring they had on the lot. Asked who i could speak with about the car, i got two salesmen looking at each other and jose asked what i wanted to know about it. he seemed completely reluctant at first to… give me the full treatment. i asked what the price was for the car and he said "thats like a 20 thousand dollar or more car" as we walked to the car I saw it was advertised for less than what he was telling me. He didn't really believe me and wanted to see my phone from autotrader, he told me it was the bottom line and that would be the best offer. I had asked simple questions like MPG, if the engine was 3.5 or 2.7 and he didn't really have a clear answer. After driving up one street and down the next we got back, he asked what iwas looking to get the car for, he walked in an office and came back and said he couldn't help me but he will have the used car department manager call me. he ripped a piece of paper and had me write down my number and said "if he want's to make a deal he will call you" then left... This was the most random experience ever... you have a customer ready to buy and yet no effort was made. also just to update, there was never a phone call made to me... assuming since he wasn't getting the sale he didn't want anyone else to grab hold of a commission... no customers at 6pm on a Sunday... red flag... not upset .. just really disappointed...

My name is Brad Oland. I refute what occhick has written. While I did obtain her information,I did so only to be sure that the person in front of me was truly occhick. Nothing was done illegally or shadily. I informed her at the time that that was what the information was for.it doesn't matter that the deal was a cash deal or not we as a dealership have the right to know who we are dealing with. What if this person had stolen another persons information to use for the wrong purpose,I suppose then I would be on the carpet for not being more thorough.I believe she became upset because we did not except her offer, because we felt that it was to low to accept.Bill nor myself were rude in anyway.
