No Hassle
by ML on 04/18/2023Jeremy was very knowledgable about the car and approachable and not annoying. Low key experience which was nice. Never felt pressured (except the upsell attempt on warranty but wouldn't be a trip to a dealership with out that!).A lovely experience buying our Mazda CX9!
by The Shenois on 09/19/2022Our buying experience was rather long, but it was a good one. All personnel involved, (Suresh Gursahani and Chris Kassem) were very pleasant, efficient and overall did a very good job. We would certainly recommend this dealership to our… friends and family !Helpful, down to earth guys, beautiful used car
by Justin on 08/10/2021There was a lot of construction going on so things were a bit hectic, but we had a good experience overall. Alex was pretty responsive and chill with us as we ran test drives and asked email questions, and Fred in finance was accommodating… as we figured out payment methods. There was no haggling and everything was pretty much what it said on the tin. We bought a 2018 Mazda CX-5 quickly before the opportunity passed us by and we've loved it so far.Great buying experience
by June Burckhardt on 06/24/2021We just purchased a certified pre-owned 2018 CX-5 through the Oak Tree Dealership. Alex in sales, George, and Jorge in finance were extremely helpful, professional, accommodating, and friendly. We felt no pressure and were able to choose… exactly what we did and didn't want with the car. They even were able to get us through the paperwork portion extremely quickly so we could make it to our plans afterward. Highly recommend the Oak Tree Mazda and buying a certified used car from them!"Short Mike" McGhee & Oak Tree Mazda truly earned my business
by Georgia on 06/12/2021Working with "Short Mike" McGhee at Oak Tree Mazda met (actually exceeded) my standards: Professional, knowledgeable, efficiency combined with courtesy (a balance that is very important to me as a customer), clear and respectful. Not only… am I really happy to have purchased our 2021 Mazda CX-5 from Mr. McGhee, but as a result of his representation of Oak Tree Mazda, I'm actually looking forward to going there for service/maintenance appointments. I am already recommending Mr. McGhee and Oak Tree Mazda to family and friends. Thank you for such a positive experience, and a great car!Fast!
by Heather on 05/10/2021Lightning fast service. Took 1.5 hours!Intuitive Sale
by Nathan R on 04/11/2021Alex Semikhat made our car buying experience easy. He could tell what kind of buyer I was and adjusted to meet my needs. I’m easy in that I know exactly what I want but difficult because I’m in sales and like things to move quickly. He got… that right away and adjusted to work with me in a way that met my needs. Few salespeople can do this as they are usually stuck in their own process or agenda. Alex “read the room” and for that reason we purchased with him. He responded quickly to my numerous emails and had everything ready for me when I got to the dealership. The dealership is under construction but that was easy to overlook because of Alex. Once they have their new building I imagine it will be much nicer. Thanks for a nice experience Alex!Easy transaction
by Max on 03/22/2021Oak Tree Mazda gave us the best price over the phone of any Bay Area dealer, and completed the transaction quickly and painlessly. One of the easiest car transactions I've had.Great experience
by Claudia on 02/24/2021Everything was perfect. Especially Alex went out of his way to help me. He patiently and cheerfully explained all the features of my new car. He even gave me his personal cell in case of problems and he will mail an item that I had… forgotten in my trade in. I cannot stop raving about him!Questionable ethics
by Alex G on 11/13/2020I want to make it clear at the beginning that this review is purely for the salesman Alex (Oleksii is his real name I think) since I don't want the other honest salesmen at this dealership to suffer. My wife wanted to lease the new Mazda 6… after her lease on the 2016 Mazda ran out. Our expectation was to test drive the car and if she liked it, talk numbers and make a deal. Test drive: It started pretty well. Alex was fairly courteous at the start. He took our details, brought the car around and let us take it for a test drive. He did not join us, which was good. We brought it back after about 10 mins (she wanted to see how it handles on the freeway). After we got back is when things took a turn for the worse. While she was parking the car, I got out and found Alex. Alex did not see her/the car and commented - "Did she dump you and run off with her lover and the car?". I am sure it was meant as a joke but seemed in poor taste to me. But I gave him the benefit of the doubt, smiled and took it in my stride. She came back and mentioned that the steering seemed a bit stiffer than her old Mazda. Alex seemed to take it personally (and set the tone for the evening) and loudly retorted that Mazda is a 'sports' car so the steering wheels are expected to be stiff and if she needs a softer steering, she should try a 'family' car like a Toyota. The rudeness was another red flag but kept my cool and told him that we wanted to talk numbers. Lease details: At the table, his first question was not 'Do you want to lease or buy?' - he went for - 'Are you sure you want to make a deal. Because I do not want to waste my time if otherwise'. Now having worked for a management consulting company, I understand that assertiveness is important for sales but this bordered on arrogance. Any salesman worth his weight in salt should know that customers price-shop and compare lease quotes from multiple dealerships. I should have walked out then but wanted something to show for the time I wasted here. We told him that we are looking to lease and if the deal is favorable, we wanted to move ahead with it. He visibly sighed (I am not dramatizing for effect) and dropped another bombshell - 'Since you are on a visa, we would need at least $3000 as down payment towards a lease'. Now I admit, my thick Italian accent was a give-away that I was probably not an American citizen but seemed very presumptuous on his part to term us as visa holders (Fyi - we were). Also having leased a Mazda before for $0 down, I was naturally suspicious of this 'rule' and asked him if this was a recent mandate from Mazda. Now he probably felt like we were accusing him of stealing our money because that is the only explanation for his subsequent response. His face reddened and he literally arched in our direction from across the table and started saying something about that being the way we do things and he can show proof of this from Mazda (btw I have scoured the Mazda lease T&C and found nothing, but I am not sure if I missed it in the legalese). He also mentioned that for 'decent' customers, there are 'things that they can do'. I don't know what makes customers 'indecent' or how a Mazda immigration policy/mandate can be overridden by salesmen. But he immediately got up and said that he will get our numbers. My wife did bring up the idea of leaving but I wanted to give him one last chance. I could see Alex through the glass talking to someone behind a desk and I think he knew we could see him. I saw him laughing and pointing multiple times in our direction (I could be accused of being a tad prejudicial - it is very possible that he was taking about the weekend game and not us but looking back at what happened prior to that, I would not put it past him). He walks over after 15 mins and introduces us to this fairly large Caucasian guy in his late 40s or early 50s with a very booming voice - Finance manager 'Jay' (again, I might have gotten the name wrong). Finance Manager ‘Jay’ – So this guy Alex introduced us to walks over and puts a piece of paper in front of us with the details of the lease, which quite honestly stunned us. So the MSRP was around $25K with a dealer discount of approximately $2K, bringing the value to $23K (some of these are rounded up which you’ll realize doesn’t matter as you read further). He had a $3K down payment which included the drive off fees and first month’s lease payment. Let’s assume the drive off and first month’s lease come to $1K (usually it is less than that), which makes the down-payment towards the lease around $2K. His monthly payment was ~$410 and his residual value at the end of the 3-year lease was around $13K. Now for those who need a refresher on how lease works, please allow me to provide a high level overview - the amount you would be effectively paying over the course of the 3 year lease should be in the ballpark (most dealers pad it a bit) of your MSRP post discounts less the residual value. So ideally, my lease payments should have been: 25K (MSRP) – 2K (discounts) – 14K (residual value) – 2K (effective down payment) + 3K (let’s assume a dealer padding/profit) = 10K Now $10K over a 35-month lease (first month paid in down payment) should have come to $286 Let’s put that into perspective by comparing it to what we were being asked to pay: 2K (down payment) + 410*35 = $16,350! For a car worth $23K which we would return after 3 years! And we did not even get into all the extras that usually accompany a lease (6-month maintenance, gap etc.) While I was calculating these numbers at the dealership, he kept trying to stop me and trip me up obviously assuming that we are unexperienced and did not know how leases work. ‘Don’t wait too long! We might sell the car you like while we sit here chitchatting!’ I am not sure chitchatting is the term you would use to describe lease negotiations. And mind you, we spoke to that guy for less than 5 mins. Now you may be wondering why I am typing up the numbers. That is because Jay refused to give us the printed quotes, which seemed suspicious at the time but not so much after I see some of the other reviews where people have posted pictures of the quote to showcase dishonesty. Understandably he wanted to avoid sharing ‘proof’ of his poor practices. ‘You cannot memorize that?’, he said before yanking the paper from my hand. Wow. My recommendation to the owner of the dealership - I would strongly recommend sensitivity training for these two employees and give them a refresher on humility, patience and most importantly humanity. ** End of rant ** 😊Outstanding Car Buying Experience
by LesY on 08/26/2019Micahel Montuy and the financing rock star (sorry, I forgot his name) made this car buying experience one of the most memorable . Michael engaged me as a customer, showed me how to operate the safety features on the CX3 as well as the other… great features on this car.Great Mazda service
by Jodyhros on 03/28/2018We purchased a great CX-5 and received the very best service and price. Shaun was extremely helpful in pointing out important considerations and ensured the process is smooth and fast.Get your act together Oaktree
by NurseRatchit on 12/20/2015updated 12/29/2015This is a review not for Mazda (great cars, I've owned 5) but for the dealer. I spent over 5 hours trying to turn in my lease and exchange it for a newer car. I was assured this would be a breeze as I was return customer and my credit… rating was high. The car was not on the lot so had to be transferred from another dealer 8 miles away. Long story short, I signed all the financial paperwork, we negotiated a deal, and we waited, and waited. Eventually, we left for an hour to get some food. Hour 4 they called and said the car was there and ready. It was not ready. Then some young thang (secretary) came in for my final signature and said I needed "proof of income" (I am retired, yet own several rental properties which was discussed at the beginning). Yeah, I lost it at this point. This dealer is understaffed and is not customer service oriented. This has been my experience numerous times. I will not be buying any more Mazda's from Oaktree. I suggest seeking out another dealer.Quick and Painless
by mkoffler on 09/08/2014Zach was very friendly in letting me test drive the car I was looking for, but also suggested others I might like. Was patient with me as I contemplated my decision and was helpful without being pushy. Stoked on my awesome Mazda6!OK deal very bad communication
by m83012 on 12/19/2008I would like to express my initial satisfaction with your staff. Great to deal with! I have purchased 4 cars from you and planned to buy another next year until the following occurred: A deal was signed and two cars purchased on 11/16.… A few days later I was contacted and told I would have to put $1000 down. Not a real problem since my credit is at a low point right now so I understood that. However, I feel you should have taken part of that "hit" since a previous deal had been made. But this is where the real problems started. I was told by Byron I would have 3 weeks to produce that money...by Jackie I was actually given 10 days. I was told by Byron that my first payment would be "the middle of January" it is actually December the 28th. Then I left a check for the down payment which I was told by Jackie and Byron would be deposited on the 8th it was deposited on the 4th! It bounced and caused 3 other checks to bounce which cost me $99.00. These, I'm sure or at least I hope were honest mistakes just due to very bad communication in your company but I can't bring myself to deal with you again under these circumstances. Thanks for your time. Mike GangloffGreat dealership
by asdf9036 on 11/15/2007What a difference from the Jeep dealership I recently visited. I've been to numerous Mazda dealerships before, and what I immediately notice is how pressure-free the sales associates are. Instead of salesmen waiting in the parking lot… looking for customers, the sales associates simply wait inside the showroom. You approach them, they don't approach you. If all you want to do is look at a car, or even take it out for a joyride, they're more than willing to let you. The only negative that I can think of with this dealership is that there did not seem to be much inventory, however it's possible that there was more in the back, which I did not see.Pleasant Experience
by martyhutch on 05/04/2013updated 06/04/2025I went into the dealership on a Monday to sit in their Miata and see how it felt. Jack approached me and we went for a test drive. I was pleased that he didn't pressure me into buying but rather seemed to be interested in me finding out… what was best for me. On the Friday of the same week I revisited the dealership and was able to get the price that i wanted with no hassle. i left with the car options I had decided on as they found such a car at another dealership nearby. I was and am very happy with the transaction and car.Great Service From Mike McGhee
by rfj1 on 07/09/2012updated 06/04/2025We purchased a new CX-9 last weekend from Mike McGhee at Oak Tree Mazda and we received great service. I took a test drive with my young daughter and Mike was kind and patient. He answered all my questions and found out the answers to those… he didn't know off hand. When I found the car I wanted at an incredible price online, he matched it. I was comfortable working with Mike and was willing to pay a very small premium for an option I wanted that they didn't have on a car in their lot. The man we worked with for the final paperwork (A.Salas) was also excellent. He didn't try to pressure us into extras, just listed the benefits and let us decide. I was pleased with the overall experience we had at Oak Tree Mazda. It did seem to take a long time to get the paperwork done, but we were there on a Saturday afternoon and Mike and his colleagues did what they could to make things move along, even helping to detail the car themselves!Good price, easy purchase process
by danifel on 09/10/2011updated 06/04/2025Oak Tree Mazda gave me a good deal on a 2012 Mazda 5 Sport, and good treatment. Hoping to have good service there as well.Good price, did not waste time
by mross454 on 10/03/2011updated 06/04/2025Just picked up a used Mazda 3 Hatchback here...car is a great value and the dealership had a few for me to look at. Marty from the fleet internet side helped us...he was out on the lot when we came in and showed us around. Very low pressure… guy, but when we asked a few questions he was responsive and knew the answers to help us. Overall got a great deal and had a good time with them...4 stars only though because they would not give us a tank of gas, but hey, I'm still happy!
