by FrustratedXT on 04/22/2023I didn't plan to write a review, but Subaru has emailed me twice asking me to post this, so I will. The process was fine -- I was able to negotiate a price by text which was fairly seamless. The price was fair. My decision to use Premier… Subaru of Fremont was mostly based on availability of the vehicle I wanted. I felt the purchase experience was the typical "hurry up and wait," despite having agreed upon a price before I got there and paying cash. I really felt like they had me wait just to wait, or at a minimum, they didn't do anything to expedite the process. The real frustration is my present situation with Service. The car has an automatic High Beam Assist function and frankly, it just doesn't work well. If there are -any- ambient lights -anywhere-, the feature refuses to allow you to turn on the high beams. Yes, there are work-arounds (you can turn the headlights on manually to defeat the "auto" function, but that means I don't get the auto on/off headlights that I paid for). No problem -- owners manual says the automatic High Beam Assist function can be disabled by the dealer. "Cool, I'll just get it disabled." After several discussions with Jeffrey and Devon, I've been told.... ...the feature cannot be disabled. ...the feature can be disabled, but they won't do it because it's dangerous (I might use my high-beams to blind someone). ...the feature can be disabled, but they won't do it because of liability. ...the feature can be disabled, but they won't do it because their legal department said no. (But they won't provide me a contact for the legal department representative.) ...the feature can be disabled, but it violates California law to do so. (But they won't provide the California Vehicle Code section it allegedly would violate.) ...I was also promised a call back from "Dan," but never received one. The aforementioned arguments are ironic, since I believe quite the opposite: that they've sold me an unsafe vehicle with defective headlights. It's an easy fix and I never imagined having this problem.A careless and poor experience that put my wife's life at risk
by Matthew L on 04/10/2023We had been taking our cars to Premier Subaru for many years and the last incident was the last. After having to swap out our whole motor due to a piston cracking while we were driving it, my wife was driving the car, smelled gasoline, and… then the car died. The engine bay started smoking and then caught on fire. Thankfully she was not in traffic and could pull over to the side. Thankfully my children were not in the car. The dealership lawyered up quickly and did NOTHING to make it right, except for offering lame platitudes and a promise to "do better." Whatever that means. Don't take your car to this dealership for service.Excellent experience
by Marthajean on 03/01/2023I am a single elderly women and this was the first time I was buying a car on my own. I called first and was greeted by Trey and test drove a car. I returned a couple of weeks later when they had the model in I was looking for and in the… right color.I test drove again and new I would be purchasing that day. Trey was always friendly and never pushy. They were super busy and it was getting late so I put a deposit on it and returned 2 days later. The financial gal was super friendly and Trey went over everything on the car and I believe a second person did also go over more of the features. I made an appointment about a week later and Rabi went over everything again and answered all the questions that I might have. Everyone left me with their personal numbers so I could call them if I had any questions and I actually did call Dan who had checked up on me.I have all their numbers in my phone now. I felt so good about my purchase and would definitely recommend this dealership.Worst Car Dealer experience
by Not Disclosed on 07/08/2022Yesterday I went to Subaru to test drive - 2022 outback limited trim. Met with a dealer and went in. He opened his computer and searched one of them and told me its around 40k so if you lease it will be around 800 per month. I told 'ok'.… Then he asked me "Would you be able to afford it? "[The way he was looking at me with a teasing smile, i felt really bad]. I told if I am not then why I am asking for it. [It was so unprofessional, insulting and ridiculous question.] However, I controlled my anger or frustration and said him politely could you please arrange the car for test drive. And also told why are you asking me if I can afford or not. He responded that he want to check if that is in my budget. I responded that it does not make sense. What is your budget and can you afford is two different statement. Then he locked his computer, put his hands in his pocket, got up, looked away and told me looks like you are not planning to buy. So we look for somewhere else. I felt more insulting and asked to be very sure that - "Are you asking me to leave?" He said : "Yes" I have no clue what was his problem. Why he behaved so rudely. I would rather go 40 miles to buy a car from different Subaru dealer than this. This is the worst experience. Do not go to this dealer. They are unprofessional and rude.Not Disclosed, we regret to hear that you had a negative experience with the Subaru dealership personnel. Unfortunately your survey will not be seen by the management team for Subaru as your survey was for Nissan which is a completely different management team.

The deduction is for the fact that problem should have been caught from the beginning when they performed multi-point… check. If I can’t wait till the job is finished they arrange for complimentary Lyft to work. Then they arranged to deliver… my car to work! They complete the work as promised. Poor Operational Customer Service
by PJ on 09/03/2019I bought a lease for the Ascent and traded in my SUV. The lease was fine but they hold back the check for the trade in value saying there was no signatory for the checks that I should be receiving. The signors went for vacation and be back… for two weeks. In the meanwhile, I have to wait for them to come back from vacation and then they will sign my check. Was wondering what kind of company would operate like this. I was in the retail business for 30 years and never have to treat our customers like this. It is just pathetic that they are treating their customers badly and get away with it. Im sure they won't get any repeat business from me. I still have not receive the check since August 20, 2019.OK.

And I ended up getting new tire and spent good amount. End of the day I expected not to see the same low… pressure alert on my dashboard. But no. I see it after a 1-2 weeks. So again I need to spend the same amount???Great experience.

And if you say you want to decide after the rest drive and see the vehicle, they will… straight away say we can't do that. Fremont has great reviews and deserves it if not more. My things… are precious to me and based on the interaction with Fremont customer service I’m happy to drive 36 miles for their service.
