by Nithesh on 08/27/2018I took a test drive, zero'ed on the model I want, for the price I was comfortable. we agreed on the model/price post which they took all my financial information (SSN, outstanding mortgage, how much I earn etc). They took the car for prep… work (/detailing) and made me wait for 2 hours. Now after whole 3 hours of deal-making, they realized that they could not honor the price we agreed upon before. Brian (I guess the manager of this unprofessional team) came to me and said in an adamant tone, it was a SMALL MISTAKE from their end and they will not sell the car for the price they agreed. And guess what, they even shred my paperwork even before asking me (I seriously fear about my SSN information)Jose was very professional

Jose helped me from the initial phone call to the final goodbye. He sat with us for hours… finding the best possible solution, most budget friendly option, and making sure we were comfortable. His sales experience was in NO WAY "car salesman" type of feel. He was personable and realistic, you could truly tell he was interested in what was best for us. This is the issue that I got into with Jackpowell. I bought a… charger car 3 weeks ago, July 3, 2018. I was supposed to go Bob Baker Carlsbad for the 2019 Charger with a price 0f 29,900. Jackpowell doesn't have the same Car, so Jackpowell told that they will get it from Carl Burger. I agree to get that car instead of going to Carlsbad, I told them that it should be the same price as Carlsbad for 29,900. Guess what I just check the documents I signed on the copy they gave me saved on a USB card. Jackpowell charge me 32,300 for the V6 Charger. Jackpowell didn't inform me of the price that they will charge me. They just let sign us all the documents and let me and my son waited for 6 hours to get the Car. Would be nice if they gave the warranty on paper as well do I dont have to go print to put in glove… box. During that period, Joey contacted me and followed up by email… and phone (as did five other dealers in San Diego). Joey always conducted himself professionally and courteously. When I finally arranged to come into the Jack Powell's showroom, Joey understood that I was comparison shopping, what I wanted in a truck and made the entire experience a pleasant one. Joey helped me to understand what I needed in a truck and helped me to narrow my choice to the RAM 1500 Hemi (a great truck) and the Silverado LTZ. I would recommend that anyone wanting to do a real apples to apples comparison of new cars or trucks include Joey Montoya in that discussion. He made me a great offer on a great truck. Rude Disrespectful Immature Manager
by surfrock89 on 07/22/2013updated 08/05/2025If you want an extremely pushy salesman and an insanely rude manager talking down to you, Jack Powell Dodge is your place. We went in to get the trade in value of our car and saw a car that was interesting enough to take a look at. I must… have told the salesman 15 times that I wanted to get the trade in value of my car before he actually did. Instead of simply getting the info that I wanted in order to see what I could afford, he kept trying to run my credit. The salesman wasn't rude, he was just very annoying and pushy, more than I've seen when buying any other car that myself or my family or friends have had. THE MANAGER WAS THE COMPLETE WORST PERSON THAT I HAVE EVER HAD THE DISPLEASURE OF MEETING!!! He was rude and even more pushy than the salesman. First off, he was trying to give me a terrible trade in value which was significantly less than what Kelly Blue Book says. Once I told him that the car that I was looking at wasn't the right fit, he got even worse. He started saying that his "guys weren't getting paid while working with us" and that is when we had enough. We ended up just walking away while the manager was yelling things like "you don't know how to buy a car" and "thanks for wasting our time." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! How did this [non-permissible content removed] manager get to the position that he is in?! I have never had such horrible customer service at any place in my entire life, let alone a place that I would consider dropping thousands of dollars at! I can go to Best Buy and work with 17 year olds that have better customer service and sales skills than these amateur salesmen did. Unless you specifically enjoy a rude, obnoxious, and pushy sales team that treats their customers with disrespect, you should never go to Jack Powell Dodge. This was the worst car experience myself or my family has ever had and would gladly drive over 100 miles to go to another dealership that can actually act like respectable adults. In regards to the manager's comment of "thanks for wasting our time," I am now happy to have wasted your time considering you definitely wasted mine.We apologize for your bad experience at our dealership. We pride ourselves on our customer service, and it is distressing to hear about your incident. It must have been frustrating to not get the answer that you wanted. Please be assured that we take your comments very seriously. This incident will be throughly investigated so that we may improve upon our customer service techniques. They are professional and courteous. They give you their utmost positively attitude that they can help you where… other auto places probably couldn't go any further for you. I was never rushed into the autobuying,James was very nice to make sure and ask me questions if I was comfortable with the car,payment,etc. Therefore,I send my coworker the following week,she got a car from them too. I highly recommend Jack Powell Dealership to families and friends. If you ever need a second chance or want a dealership to make you feel as family as well,then go to Jack Powell and ask for James or Christina. You can count on leaving with a positive attitude,feeling good and driving off with your brand new car. They can make it happen for you.Good experience straight forward.

The salesmen were very helpful in locating different vehicles as well as patient as I sorted through the options. I was looking preowned and they had a new one they wanted to sell me. I laid… out my terms which were very low since the car was initially out of my price range. We haggled and they earned my business with a very competitive price on the vehicle. They even beat my preapproved financing which let me benefit from all the rebates (part of the benefit of shopping end of the year models) as well as an excellent interest rate. Cars are like houses in that if you want a good deal you need to offer low, stand your ground, be ready to walk away, but know when to pounce when the deal is in front of you. On the flip side the dealer needs to make a profit to stay in business and pay its employees. As result, haggling can be and often is contentious and emotionally draining (for both parties I'm sure) but I found the Jack Powell staff to be very professional and straight forward. I would go back to Jack Powell again.Great Decision

Bruce W. and manager and the finance manager were personable to the point and made sure that I was rewarded by my stellar credit report… which as been ignored by most institutions. Bruce took the time to explain all that I asked and even was patient enough to listen to my personal problems LOL. I met the service manager as part of my purchase. I was dreading the finance manager meeting to finalize the deal but ended up walking away with a 2014 Jeep cherokee with a WHAT? LIFETIME WARRANTY. Ulga a very personable sales woman was so cool and supportive as I drove off into the sunset. A recent separation from my wife who questions everything I do even said "how did you get such a good deal?" Haaaaaa!#1 Car Sales Man anywhere / Rich G. / He is the man!

Ashley G. was extremely helpful explaining the differences between all of the models and options which made my decision much simpler. When it came time to… crunch numbers, she and the Mgr Hassan found all incentives/rebates/etc and we quickly arrived at a sales price. I got a fantastic deal without the bad after taste of a long hard haggle.Thank you Chuck for your business.
