Won't be going back
by Charbar on 11/29/2023We were very disappointed with our experience at this new Carlsbad location. Our service advisor didn't keep us posted on the status of our vehicle and even when we arrived to pick up, we had to wait an additional 2 hours for our car to be… ready. When we asked about the miscommunication, we were told "I guess they're running behind." Very poor customer service. When we finally did get our car, we started up and the service light still came on. We had to go BACK into the service center, wait until our rep was called, only to be told there was a sensor issue that we were never made aware of that wasn't addressed OR shared with us. VERY disappointing as this was one of the main reasons for our visit. While waiting, we noticed many of the reps talking, sitting and generally looking pretty inactive, so we're baffled as to why the service wasn't what we have come to expect from BMW. Do not service your BWM at BMW of Carlsbad
by Derrick on 11/20/2023I had the worst experience on having my EGR recall service performed on my X5 35d which I originally purchased from BMW of Carlsbad as new. First, the EGR recall was done incorrectly which result in melted holes in the intake manifold which… triggered over more than error codes which shows that oxygen level is wrong, intake pressure is wrong and fuel fixture is wrong in a few weeks after we took the car back. They replaced the intake manifold and had us take the car back. However, after having the car back for a week or two with just doing regular trips within San Diego. The check-engine light comes up again. This time they had us pay for the exam this time. In the report it shows both DPF inefficiency and catalytic converter inefficiency. However, the service manager, Michael Nguyen said the only issue is in the catalytic converted but not the DPF which the exhaust air travelled through first. And he does not want to link this to all the incorrect oxygen level, fuel fixture error codes that will result in DPF inefficiency. No soot and ash measurement is done to determine the root-cause of the DPF inefficient issue. Michael insisted that the only way for him to build a case to BMW NA. So we went ahead a bought OEM BMW catalytic converter and have it installed. After the installation, check-engine light comes up again and it is pointed to the DPF inefficiency again. We got back to Michael again. He is very reluctant to follow his own thinking on this matter now. He changed his story in the text message exchange that I had with him and kept saying it is because of the part is old so it just needs to replaced. But when I told him that BMW specify the lifespan of the DPF to be 150k miles and the DPF only has 90k miles on it. And he failed to answer the question why this is not logically related the incorrect EGR recall service that caused all the error codes and melting holes in the intake manifold. And why soot and ash measurement is not done to figure out why the DPF performance is inefficient. He also failed to answer if a mechanic part is old, which component failed because it is old? He did mentioned in the text message that the camera shows that structure and honeycomb of the DPF looks good. So what is wrong with it and why it is not caused by the incorrect EGR recall? He cannot answer these questions at all. We are beyond frustrated with his service and attitude. Definitely, we will share this experience to people around us and on BMW forums. This is the first time I had this time of issue out of the 5 BMWs that I have owned.Mr.

He took the time to sit with me and explain the many features on the car. I called him twice today with questions and he… answered my questions quickly with him being a BMW GENIUS he was the only salesman that didn't have to go to a computer screen to get the answer. Then miss Stacy in finance was equally attentive, knowledgeable and kind. Almost the best dealership experience.
by X6Mbuyer on 11/04/2023We traded a car in on a newer used bmw. What a breeze! The offer was the highest we had received, and the process was wonderful. Mark the salesman was great, and the sales manager Tom was phenomenal!! But.... the finance department needs… work. Our entire deal was cash, no financing needed, we just wanted a warranty. The lady who worked our deal (forget her name) was so incredibly pushy. Like unbelievably pushy considering we were obviously interested and committed. Beyond that, I left feeling like she did not work for me to get me the best deal. I truly felt like she was doing her very best to "bend me over a barrel". Not a pleasant experience. If this dealership could fix the overly pushy finance department thus would be a perfect place to buy a car. SO perfect that I would feel comfortable sending my wife, grandma, etc in by themselves to make a purchase.Hi, we regret your experience with us here, but are glad you brought this to our attention. Better than ever!

I have worked with Keith for years and he is consistently the BEST… SA I have encountered. The new facility is large, beautiful and provides much needed space. The old location was outgrown a long time ago. Thanks to all for doing such a great job. One point for you to consider: bring back loaner BMWs! Uber and Lyft are good services, but the flexibility (and fun) of having a BMW loaner are greatly missed. High pressure sales tactics to sell extra packages

I had to walk out the deal. Finally, Sales… manager stopped the Finance manager doing the high pressure sales tactics to me.
