  • Awesome experience at AutoNation Subaru

    5 out of 5 starsby mmdorf1 on 07/30/2014

For us well informed buyers who know as much or sometime more about a car's F&B/invoice price as your typical deal...AutoNation Subaru was extremely easy to work with when it came time to finalizing the OTD price. Richard R (Sales Rep) was a pleasure to work = no stress approach = took me 7 days to make my decision and felt no pressure to buy at anytime and I received the price I wanted to pay.
  • Best Sales Person Chris T

5 out of 5 starsby clasko on 07/28/2014

So after looking for a couple of weeks visiting dealerships and test driving different types of SUV, it was like a breath of fresh air to go to AutoNation Scottsdale Subaru and work with our sales person, Chris T. We contacted Chris, by phone, prior to going out there, regarding their Sat. newspaper Ad for a 2014 Subaru Forester. (Plus, Yelp showed 5 star service while the other Subaru places were less than stellar.) But prior to going out there, we made a stop at a Jeep dealership on Bell Road and the freeway and test drove the Laredo 4x4. It was very nice and came very close to purchasing it right then and there. But we wanted to make sure that was really the best choice for us. So, before completely committing to that Jeep, we took a drive out to see Chris at AutoNation Scottsdale Subaru. From the moment Chris introduced himself to us, we could tell he was different from all the other sales people we have dealt with in the past weeks. He didn't come across as someone out to get us. No fast talking, no weird or off-the-wall statements. Just a calm man who knows his product, knows how to deal with people, and honest. YES, I said the H word. HONEST. After our test drive with Forester 2014, we told him of our Jeep test driving experience prior to seeing him, and told him of our dilemma trying to decide which one to buy. He could have easily bad-mouthed the competition, but he shocked us by saying, that the Jeep was a really good well-made vehicle and that we won't go wrong buying either Jeep or the Subaru. (OMG it was like a scene for Miracle on 34th St.) Talk about goodwill, Chris has that and more. Needless to say, we stayed around a little longer and looked at the 2015 Subaru Forester and purchased it right then and there. I have been driving it for a week and 2 days now, and I fall more in-love with this vehicle every time I drive it. Best safely pick, great gas mileage, my insurance was even lower because of its safely rating, great color( Jasmine Green), beautiful inside and out. No more dilemma.... The 2015 Subaru Forester was the right car for me. And Chris was the ABSOLUTE best person to with. I highly recommend Chris T and the Forester Subaru the next time you need to purchase a vehicle.
  • Horrible dealer

Power Subaru is nothing but your stereotypical sleazy salesmans. I'd suggest any dealer besides them. Yes, they'll be polite up front it all goes down hill from the initial contact. They will tell you whatever you want to hear to make a sale. I'd suggest getting everything in writing before signing a contract with them. FYI, my salesman was David Bailey. Avoid him, maybe you'll have better luck with somebody else.

The service is bad. You always talk to the machine and they call you 8 hours later. Then they tell you to bring the car on a certain date and they don't touch it for the whole day and of course it will have to stay overnight. I don't know if everyone is on vacation or they only have one service adviser, but this is the worst service I received from a dealership in a long time. I will try Camelback see if they have faster service. I used Emich Subaru in Tucson before and never had any issues with them. Too bad for the brand.
  • I don't like the car now because it reminds me of the jerks

2 out of 5 starsby conneally on 09/21/2007

At first, it was a breath of fresh air. Salesman and Sales managers that were very personable and professional compared to the typical shark attack and cold bitterness when you don't want to make "a deal" right then and there. We thought our salesman was nice, turned impatient, frustrated, and ready to start filling out paperwork before we agreed on the final price. The sales manager was even worse, no introduction before asking for information (i.e. vehicle to trade paid off or still in lien, what is the VIN number, financing or paying cash), later yelling across the room about an earlier customer (while using her first name)- to his amazement - was approved for a loan and betting with the salesman how much of a payment she would be able to make, then out in the open, loudly cussing and swearing on his phone like a sailor. We really liked the vehicle when we test drove it and thought it was right for the money; however, we hate it now because it reminds us of how much agonizing time we spent dealing with those jerks. The worse auto buying experience ever. Never again.

The folks at Power Subaru made in easy to do business with them. Jonathan, our sales representative was low key, knew his business and at no time made us feel uncomfortable. He answered all of our questions -- and a couple we hadn't the presence of mind to ask! The financing end went smoothly as well. All in all, they made the experience an enjoyable one.
    • Mike, thanks so much for your comments. We're thrilled you found Jonathan so helpful and knowledgeable and the whole experience pleasant and easy. Our #1 goal is for all our customers to feel that way when they drive away. Safe (and fun) driving!

The sales process was good overall except for the Ford Finance Mgr who forced us to add warranties we didn't want. Contract had to be re-done. After the sale, was very hard to get assistance. They forgot to order duplicate key and it took over a month.
  • Sales Service and financing

The service for getting my 2013 Subaru WRX was good and the process went good. But then when it came time to get financed they said I was financed when I left the day I got the car. That was not true. They had the wrong VIN number on my paper work just to by pass the fact that I was not financed and that they would get me financed a week later with a higher car payment then it was the first time I signed. It was not good news to get when it came down to me finally being financed. Just like everyone else I do not like being lied to. So I would recommend the dealership to older people who have good experience buying cars because they take advantage of a young guy like my self when it comes to getting the car and financed.

This was an easy buying experience with Ron S. I did not have the time to sit and haggle. Ron worked with me via email and phone and I was happy with the outcome.

My friend and I just dropped in to see the new Crosstrex and were treated just as if we had made an appointment. I really appreciate not being pressured to add additional options or packages. the entire team worked together to make this a pleasant experience.
  • Power Subaru rocks!

I just had a fantastic experience at Power Subaru. I drove away with an Impreza STI yesterday after the easiest car deal I have ever been through. The STI is not an easy car to find in stock and with the terrible situation in Japan right now, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find one of these cars in stock. Based on past experience I would have expected most dealers to take advantage of the situation and stick close to MSRP. Not so with Power Subaru. There was no haggling whatsoever with my deal - they immediately offered me a great price on the car and a very respectable trade value for my previous car. This was made possible by the fact that through AutoNation they have a network of other manufacturer dealerships they can call on for buy offers on your trade. Even more impressive was the fact that through no fault of their own the initial lease quote was substantially under-estimated by faulty software, but when they discovered the mistake they very generously honored the initial quote and took the substantial financial hit themselves. I have never before experienced such an honest and principled approach to selling a vehicle and needless to say I will likely be a customer for a long time to come. There was no hard-sell on finance office add-ons such as you would normally expect either. I can't imagine a better car buying experience. Big thanks to Alex and Steve for taking such good care of me. If you're in the market for a Subaru, this is where you need to go.
  • Excellent Experience

My experience with purchasing and financing a 2013 Subaru Outback from this dealership was close to perfect. Ron S went the extra mile, literally, and picked me up at my home to give me a ride to the dealership. Both he and the financing staff were friendly, helpful and did not attempt a hard sell of unwanted/unneeded items like extended warranties. I recommend this dealership for a good car-buying experience.
  • Forester 2014 Purchase

Friendly and professional folks at this dealership. This was one of the smoothest vehicle purchases I've ever experienced. Ron was very accommodating with our test drive requests - We checked out manuals and CVTs of several models. He answered all our questions knowledgeably and explained all the new technical features. Best part was that he found our color preference in the recently delivered inventory. Finance part also went quickly and smoothly - no hard sells - we drove off the lot with the new car in about 3 hours or so after arriving at the dealership.

Jonathan offered a very refreshing approach to car sales. There was none of the typical back and forth. We discussed my needs and how they could be met. A little negotiation and all parties walked away happy. Thank you Jonathan and thanks to everyone at AutoNation Subaru. I will be recommending to friends and family.
  • Easiest buying experience ever

Let's face it, when buying a car all you really want a reasonable price and a professional, pleasant experience. Mine had all 3. I already did my research and was ready to buy a car. After filling out one of those internet online quote request thingy's I got calls from several dealer. All of them wanted me to come in and 'talk'. Over the phone I told Jonathon at Power what I wanted, and what I wanted to pay. He thought they could find the car for me, but more importantly he agreed to my price, on the phone, not wasting my time or his. When I got there, Michael, the manager, told me he found the model/color I was looking for, he repeated my asking price back to me, and said “okay”. We were done shortly after. They never once tried to negotiate higher than what I told them I wanted to pay. (Maybe I offered too much? Haha. But still, they didn't try to squeeze me for more than my offer which makes me think it was fair. Here's the kicker, for some reason when my car arrived someone at the other dealership where they got the car from had already put window tint on it which I hadn’t asked for, but they never even tried to charge me extra, simply said that the deal we agreed to the prior week was the deal they were sticking by. Very straight up, no games dealer. Thanks Jonathon and Michael.
  • Very pleased overall

Friendly, low-pressure experience. Ron S. took great care of me throughout the process, very helpful and personable. There were some small surface scratches on the front bumper that they had to buff out, but other than that the car was mint and ready to go when the time came. My only complaint is the time it took to get to the financing process, I was waiting for nearly 3 hours even though it was planned beforehand. Not sure if that was due to the day/time I was there or other issues.
