OnStar Connection
by halftime on 10/15/2010My wife and I make a semi-annual haul with our 2005 Silverado Dura-Max diesel truck and 3 horse goose neck trailer between Tucson, AZ and Park City, Utah. This year we encountered our first problem on the last leg of the trip heading to… Tucson. Climbing a long grade our truck lost most of its power and RPM was maxed at 2000. We both immediately went Oh-Oh! It's very hot outside and we are in the middle of nowhere with the horses! We made it over the top and then had a long down into the Phoenix area (about 65 miles) on I-17. We called OnStar for help with the problem and they eliminated any computer system failure in the first round of satellite diagnostics. A knowledgeable man named Don then came on the line and suggested a fuel line related problem, maybe filter, maybe pump etc. We had just replaced the fuel filter so figured we had a bigger problem and so we asked for a Chevy dealer in our path down the 1-17 corridor. Don connected us to Nick May at Courtesy Chevrolet in Scottsdale, AZ and we had a three way conversation apprising Nick of our situation and that we were on our way in. Nick took down all of data needed for the service appointment from my wife while we were traveling slowly along so they could be at the ready when we arrived at the dealership (we discussed the near 100 degree heat of the day and our horses on board). We arrived at around 11:30 and Nick came out to greet us and assisted in locating a shady parking place to drop the trailer. All the paperwork was ready and so was Tony, a diesel mechanic, to immediately take our truck and repair the problem. We got lucky and everything checked out but the fuel filter, so a change out and road test was all we needed to get back on the road again. We arrived at our residence in Tucson to let the horses out in the pasture at 3:00 that afternoon because we had OnStar and Nick May made the extra effort to get us in and out as fast as possible.Deceptive practices at this dealership
by nrs2 on 09/15/2010Be very careful about any promises or warranties when you purchase a used car at Courtesy Chevrolet. I bought a fairly new '07 vehicle from them and wanted to have an inspection done. They siad it was not necessary because their Used Car… Warranty would cover anything major for 3 months/3,000 mi. Seemed legitimate. This was a 4 wheel drive vehicle that had a slight leak in the rear differential, I knew that during the purchase. Within the first month, I removed the rear diff cover to replace the fluid and discovered a loose shim, indicating a wear issue. I called Courtesy, who told me to take it to a Jeep dealership (It was an 07 Wrangler). The Jeep dealership confirmed a worn out bearing problem and charged me $700 to replace the bearings nad re-stack the tol. I asked Courtesy to at least cover the parts, since it was a major issue listed in the warranty. They refused, saying that because I removed the differential cover to change the fluid, they would not honor their warranty, stating I could have damaged the bearings myself, because I was not a "trained auto technician" the Jeep dealership backed me up as to the long-term issue of the bearings, but Courtesy refused to do anything. Their Used Car Warranty is not worth anything, so "Buyer Beware" I got [violative content deleted]Double check everything you are told
by cruiser13 on 08/07/2010I bought a new Camaro, and found a number of places where the numbers we agreed on were not what they tried to finalize with me. We would discuss an item, I would voice my position, they would agree, and I find out later that they simply… ignored my statments about what I would pay. Kept trying to slip something different into the agreement. I finally bought the car, gave them my trade-in, and it took them three weeks after they got funding on the new car, to pay off my trade in. I ended up going to GM to complain, and they paid it off the same day. Funny how that works.Courtesy Chevrolet is not what it used to be.
by azjeeper on 05/16/2010I have used Courtesy's service department extensively and have bought a new Tahoe from them in the past and have generally been pleased. I recently tried to buy a used truck from them and was shocked at how much this place has gone… downhill. The sales staff was uneducated and unresponsive, failing to call back when they promised (multiple times), couldn't get things straight in regards to what I was shopping for, and when I finally went on site to test drive a truck, they didn't even have the truck they told me about and tried to get me into another truck that was not acceptable. Can you say, "Bait and switch?" I complained and the situation got escalated to management but it was all a waste of time and I will not deal with them again. Also, I was in my local hardware store recently and the owner told his staff to not let Courtesy charge any more items to their account which was long overdue. Makes me wonder what corners they'll cut in the service department ?? I used to trust them but not anymore. One of the sales staff even told me he was brought in to "straighten the place out." Overall, a picture of a dealership that is falling apart, even though they always appear to be busy and have plenty of staff.poor service and sales staff
by scott128291 on 02/27/2010I took my car to this dealership for service, not only did they overcharge me to begin with, but when my car was "ready" to pick up, I discovered that I had missing parts. Several inconvenient trips to the dealership later, the missing… "broken" parts were finally replaced at my expense, although it was much cheaper than what I was originally quoted. I (stupidly) attempted to purchase a vehicle shortly after from the dealership. After being promised certain terms for the deal, I was told that the car had already sold just before I could get to the dealership to make the purchase. I then tried to buy a different car under the same terms and was told that everything that had been offered was untrue (much lower trade value, fictitious rebates, false rate of financing). I would caution anyone actually thinking of buying from this dealership to not trust what you are being told until you see it in writing. I went on to buy a car from Chapman Chevrolet and while I did not receive as great a deal as Courtesy offered me, I do not believe that Courtesy offered me anything more than a fantasy to get me back in the door.Disappointing and Deceitful Experience with Courtesy Chevrolet
by phoebesmom on 01/31/2010On Oct. 8, 2009, I entered into a contract to purchase a 2010 Equinox LT2 with their internet manager and gave them a $500 deposit. When I returned nearly 12 weeks later to pay for the car, I was given a totally new contract which devalued… my trade-in by $3300 and increased the price of the car by several thousand dollars. I complained to the Sales Manager and was essentially written off. He made various excuses such as the Internet Manager was no longer there, and there was no information in my file, claimed there had been price increases and several Kelly Blue Book adjustments. When I protested that I had a written contract and they accepted my deposit, he said, "Maybe you shouldn't buy a car here." I was appalled and demanded my deposit back. The Sales Manager said it would take two weeks to process a refund. After I said I wasn't leaving until I got my money back, he said he would mail it to me the next day. I finally received my refund on 1/28, a month after this deceit took place. I have since written to the owner of the dealership, Chevrolet, GM and the Better Business Bureau. GM is the only one who called me and apologized. The BBB is investigating and I have never heard a word from the dealership or Chevrolet. That is very disappointing to me. And, they wasted 12 weeks of my time.Best Chevy Dealer in Phoenix "Maybe The World"
by stevenc3 on 12/04/2009I went to Courtesy Chevrolet, WOW that Place is nice. Not only does it look and smell great. Unlike other places I have gone. But the Priceing was good to, Were they the cheapest no but not by much difference. I found that it was a better… deal over all because they don't hit you with a bunch of stupid fees that you have never heard of. They also did not try to kill me on the financing, I got 3.5 % better rate at Courtesy Chevrolet than anywere else. Saving my thousands of the live of my loan.Overal Best Quality
by aarellanes7 on 02/24/2009I have been searching for a few months for a new Tahoe LTZ Package. I shopped around a bit going through websites and submitting information to see who would give me the best price. First off I must say, Courtesy Chevrolet was the quickest… to respond to my inquiry. Not only did they respond within the first 30 minutes after my submission, but they also included everything I wanted without all the hussle and tussle of emails that weren't relevant to what I was looking for. I responded quickly and received a phone call from Robert Biggs. He was very knowledgeable of the incentives that were currently occurring (Presidents Sale), and actually helped me save money compared to what I was looking to spend originally. Before Courtesy Chevrolet, I was very uneasy with the thought of many dealerships looking to squeeze every dime out of you for the purchase of a vehicle. With Courtesy, they were very helpful to actually help me save money as opposed to actually spending more. I have already told my older brother who was in the market for a new vehicle and he also purchased from them. Thank you very much Courtesy for making my vehicle shopping experience one of the best I have ever had.Right up there with the worst
by johansenrj on 04/09/2008I was shopping for a 2007 Avalanche 7 months ago, and visited just about every Chevy dealer in metro Phoenix over a 3 day period. I had done my homework and knew what my trade in was worth which was confirmed when I negotiated with several… other dealers. When I went to Courtesy, I told the salesman that I had visited a number of dealers and knew what I was looking for and what my trade in was worth. They had several vehicles of interest, which we went to go look at. The salesman had alot of trouble locating the vehicles in the several lots they use, and then had trouble getting them gassed up. It probably took 30-40 minutes to get out on a test ride. After the test ride, although I told the salesman I would be a cash buyer, the dealer demanded my social security number before starting the negotiation process. Their first offer was literally $8K over what other dealers were offering for comparable vehicles. I told the salesman that their offer was a joke and that I'd done my homework. I got up to leave and they then literally tried to block me from leaving the dealership. The sales manager quickly dropped the price $5K, but was still not even competitive. This is a totally pathetic dealership which relies on desperate and/or uneducated buyers for their business.Awesome!
by amoretti on 03/29/2008I have been looking for a truck for some time now and the only Chevrolet dealership that was true to me was Courtesy Chevrolet. I had spoken to many different dealerships and when it came down to the price and service Courtesy Chevrolet… really stepped up. They beat everyone's prices by far. I am very happy I got in touch with this dealership. I know I will be going to Courtesy for many years in the future and I will definitly refer my closest friends and family to them. Thanks Courtesy!!Funny how all the positive reviews here are from accounts that are no longer active. I suspect bogus positive reviews from dealer insiders. Several of the google reviews for Courtesy that are positive are from reviewers that have praised San Diego Courtesy, Phoenix Courtesy, and an obsure San Diego computer repair place, sometimes all on the same day. Don't always believe the star ratings, especially when it comes to auto dealerships.
Thank you Will!
by vyn430 on 05/09/2014updated 08/04/2025I would recommend Courtesy Chevrolet to everyone! best customer service, It feels great to deal with someone that's actually willing to help answer the million and one question we had!Quick, easy, painless- Thank you
by myname3 on 06/17/2013updated 08/04/2025Went through the internet, this was the only dealership that listened to what I wanted. Was smooth, easy and no gimmicks. Thank you Anthony L.Car buying should be fun and easy. . . and this was!
by stumage on 05/05/2013updated 08/04/2025I purchased my 2013 Chevy Sonic from Courtesy Chevrolet. I worked with Kelly H, who was fantastic. My old truck had finally run it's course which meant it was time for a new vehicle and you can only imagine my dread at the thought of… having to go into ANY dealership and deal with high pressure sales people, and the unending string of managers who come along and try to throw in every add on and upgrade and price (cough cough Midway cough). So imagine my surprise when after having done my research and finding Courtesy had the best price on the car, that they also had such great customer service. Everything went great, car was priced the way it should be, Kelly was low pressure and showed me a variety of choices of cars in my range, and I left knowing I got a good deal. This car should last me quite some time, but when the time does come for a new one I will definitely come back to Courtesy and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.Purchased New Vehicle from Courtesy Chevrolet!

by vinsw on 05/24/2011updated 08/04/2025Staff was courtesy, Shana Del Grosso, knowledgeable and willing to work with my husband and I. Thorough customer service department has been there to assist with all our questions with longer service hours. O'Jay was our salesman and he… stayed late to assist us with buying needs. He answered his cell phone calls even beyond business hours to assist us. Would recommend visiting this dealer even if, like for me, it is a longer drive. Definitely worth the 30 min drive.Purchase of Silverodo

by Kinderdietz on 02/13/2013updated 08/04/2025Kelly H made this car buying experience wonderful. On our initial phone call, she made the usual inquiries about what model car we were interested in, but at the dealership our interview really sussed out what we were really looking for.… This meant a switch from the Spark to the Sonic with a few upgrades. Her professionalism helped us select the right car for us at the right price and terms.Excellent Experience at Courtesy Chevrolet
by mccombsp on 04/08/2011updated 08/04/2025I bought a sweet little Malibu at Courtesy Chevrolet in Phoenix a few months ago, and was treated with total care, courtesy and professionalism by salesman Kelly Williams, floor manager Dustin Reeder and customer service manager Shana Del… Grosso. These three, and everyone else I encountered at the dealership, spoiled me. They guided me through the many available options, remained patient as I considered and dithered over a period of days, and then got the whole thing done with dispatch. Even the negotiation over price was direct, clear and non-stressful. Del Grosso even called after the deal itself to cope with any followup needs, questions, service arrangements, etc. I'm completely satisfied with the whole bunch of them down there, and would highly recommend Courtesy Chevrolet! --Phil McCombs
