BAIT and SWITCH

Mt Ephraim Chrysler Dodge Ram likes to Bait and Switch. They put one price on the internet for the MSRP and then when you get there, they jack the price up! They told us since inventory is low, they raised all their prices on the lot up by $12,000. It sure would have been nice if their internet prices reflected that! We drove an hour to get there only to find out how unethical they are! I told them I could build a new 2022 car for the price they were selling the car for. The manager told me that the dealer would then jack the price up when it is delivered. THIS IS A LIE! we went to another dealer and the price we built the car for is guarenteed as the price we will pay when it is delivered. Also, it was cheaper then the car they were trying to scam me with! BUYER BEWARE when dealing with this dishonest dealership!

Sales department doesn't care after the sale

I should have trusted my gut feeling and walked away in the first 5 minutes. First impressions went like this: After greetings and introductions, the salesman’s first questions are “How much are you looking to spend?” then “How much can you afford?”. I said, let’s first see if there’s anything I want to buy. To make a long story short, the one we settled on came from their other lot in Cherry Hill. We ended up having to come back the following Saturday at noon. Of course Dennis the salesman called us at 10:30am to make sure we remembered our appointment. I could tell he was chomping at the bit to make the sale. He called us again at 11:45am to make sure we were still on our way. While signing all the paperwork, Dennis said “By the way, the dealership only got a single key when they received the car”. I said a second key is a MUST and would be a deal breaker if not. He agreed and said he would take care of it. Since that day, he hasn’t returned a single phone call. After 3 weeks, I proceeded to contact his manager. I expressed my disappointment with Dennis not returning my phone calls and the importance of a second key. He initially told me the deal was done and the dealership is under no obligation to give me another key. Later that day, Alex called me back and said he would talk to the maintenance shop about making a valet key and he would call me back Monday morning. Here it is Thursday, no call back. I went in to pick up the tags today. When I walked in the door Alex & I made eye contact from across the showroom floor. He quickly turned and walked in the opposite direction. I stood there thinking “Really? If they act like this over a key, what would they do over something more serious?”. Positive notes: Every time I called there, the ladies that answer the phones were always very cheerful and pleasant to speak to. Everyone also spoke very clear English, I never encountered any type of language barrier. As for the vehicle, I’m very happy with it. I’m satisfied with the price I paid, it was a fair deal. Lucky for me, a New Car Warranty means I can take it to ANY dealer for service.

Edmunds "Price Promise" tossed on floor

Got my Edmunds Price promise price online, went tothe Dealer's website and chatted a number of times witht heir Internet staff about the car I wanted, discussed the price I had and asked about all other hidden "gotchas" that I might encounter, as I wanted a quick no argument deal. Was assured only the doc fee would be added to the guaranteed price. When I got there, they were very friendly, happy to work with me etc. until I brought out the Price Promise price they supply through Edmunds, and that's when the trouble started. They let me sit and wait for 90 minutes without speaking a word to me, and finally came back to say they could do that price + and additional $2500 dollars, but no less than that. I said no deal, flat out, which took them a bit by surprise. i suppose the idea was to get me to bond with the car when they left me sitting next to it for 90 minutes. They then took another 90 minutes "trying really hard" to get the price close to what I came in with, but still couldn't, so I left. This is a bait and switch place, where you can frequently hear them giving their customers a very hard time over tough decisions, and I heard the sales manager berate one customer, "What's your wife gonna say, just take it home!" I suppose if you have never bought a car before their slick talking ways might make you think they are the best, but they are not honorable people, at least the sales managers aren't. Salesmen are often spoken down to as well by the "closers" at the front desk. Do yourself a favor, and shop elsewhere or at least expect every car dealer trick int he book to be thrown at you. Again, not an honest honorable place unless you are paying the sticker price.

The buying process was very pleasant. We were able to get the deal we wanted with limited haggling. Our salesman John Labarca was genuine which was a nice change of pace from the normal car salesman who just want to make a sale no matter what.

IMPRESSIVE

I am a loser for not writing this sooner, and because of that forgot my salesman's name. At any rate, I purchased my first Dodge in January. I have always been a foreign car guy. However, I purchased the Black Top Model Durango and have been very impressed. So much so that I may have been converted to a Dodger for life. I traded in a G 37x Infiniti, and it wasn't an easy swap, but at the end of the intense negotiation, I left feeling like I got a lot of bang for my buck. The people were very friendly, as I had to return a few times do to the nature of my situation and it was all good. At the end of the day, I ended up in a lease with options to move on to something different in a few years. I can't wait to see myself in the upgrade in a few years!

I had the pleasure of working with Chris Bowe today. I was in this dealership 2 months ago and Chris was very attentive then, so I searched him out today and the experience couldn't have been better. I truly felt that Chris listened to my needs and the needs of my family and he helped us to get into the car we wanted. Chris was not pushy, nor did I feel like I was being taken advantage of. I would personally recommend Chris and the rest of the staff for your next car. This is my second vehicle purchased from Mt. Ephraim Chrysler/Dodge As for Chris Bowe when you visit this dealership! I will not go anywhere else

First Purchase was a Dodge Charger Rallye edition. This was a purchase for my wife. Beautiful Car, at the price that we told them we could afford. My wife had surgery, Steve delivered the car for us locally since we have children. Fast Forward 5 months, I have wanted a B5 Blue ScatPack Charger since they were announced. I finally was in a position to get a car. When I walked in to the dealership, Alex assured me he would get me the vehicle, and guess what? HE DELIVERED ON HIS PROMISE!!. Steve helped me once again through the sales process, Albert with financing, and locating the vehicle, and Michael helping facilitate my contact with Steve. I sincerely hope someone can benefit from this review. I am a self professed car nut. This car is fantastic, and this creww made it so much better

Dishonest Dealer

Bought ram 1500 there, gave me trade in value for my infinity $5000, once paper work was done they told me just sign it was late they can't go over the numbers with me right away. later on i found out they only wrote down 1500 hundred for my infinity, i got mad told them to give me back my car i will give them the 1500 cause my car is worth at least 7500 they told me they sold my car already and would not give me the difference my of my trade in the promise, they also did not let me know that i would not get tax credit for trade of my vehicle. i would have to sue them. very hishonest try to steal customers money

Should have checked other reviews

Should have checked other reviews about this dealership. Do your homework and google the other reviews. Sales person played games with the price of the vehicle never giving the actual price of what they wanted to sell it for. Then calls his manager over who was totally unprofessional. Manger got angry and aggressive since I didn’t want to pay their overinflated prices. If I wanted to play games I would have gone to a carnival. Avoid this dealership like the plague.

VERY HAPPY BUYING EXPERIENCE

Wonderful experience - that truthfully, we weren't expecting. No pressure. No bait & switch. Friendly, helpful staff - especially Justin (Internet Customer Service) who looked for cars to fit what we wanted; and Ed H. in Sales who went the extra mile to ensure we got just the right car with all the options we wanted, at a price we could work with. They also gave us a fair price on our trade in. We had dealt with several other dealerships (via the Internet & in person) and Mt. Ephraim Dodge stands out like the mountain in their logo. We would not hesitate to recommend them to friends & family. Or anyone else who asks... By the way, we love our Dodge Charger !!!!
