Great service and very well organized

The facility is relatively new and offers a friendly environment. The inventory was convenient and set up so customers could determine the models, compare prices and features and easily walk around. The staff were friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I would recommend this dealership

Amazing!

Buying a car is an experience everyone wants to avoid. Slimy is a commonly used word. But this dealership really are first class on all counts. No game playing, no back and forth. We told them what they wanted and they did not try to push us on to another car they had in inventory. They told us they would send a driver to get the car we wanted, which was over 200 miles away. They worked hard to make sure we got every rebate and discount we could get. They gave us a fair price on our trade as well as a nice discount on the unit we picked out. The best part, this was the 8th car I have bought from them in the past 15 years. So I know they are not a 1 hit wonder.

Great Dealership for buying a car!

Well I just purchased my 6th Hyundai. from the same place. The people that work here are all I could ask for. Sales, (Steve) has sold me 5 of my vehicles. The business manager (Craig) gets his job done quick, and correct. New car manager (Jeff) knows his stuff. As far as repair service goes, I have to say, I don't know much, as I have only had my car there 3 times in 12 years. All three times I was happy with the results. Over all I would give them 5 stars.

Beware

Buyer beware! After purchasing a 2013 Hyundai Sonata two weeks prior, I went to buy a vehicle for my daughter. I chose the vehicle I was interested in, drove it, pointing out the things that were wrong with the vehicle. No seat belt chime evident, and tire pressure warning engaged. The salesman just ignored my concerns. The negotiation began with a free offering on a extended warranty out to 84 months. The salesman did not know the value. The vehicle was a 2012 Altima 2.5 S with under 2000 miles. Made my offer, and the salesman left for the approval. While he was away, I accessed the dealerships website and the car. I found the vehicle advertised on their website less than my offer. Of course he comes back with a counter of over 1000 dollars higher than their own advertised price, not knowing or believing in technology, what I had just retrieved. I walked and will not return, even for warranty service on my 2013 purchase. I am a professional sales executive, and can not understand the lack of ethics and integrity allowed in this dealership. I am a many time buyer from the Maher Group of dealerships and hope he will remove the rotten fruit from his basket of employ. Buyers Beware!

Dealership and salesman

I had a wonderful experience buying my 2013 Hyundai Tucson from this dealer. I am an older single woman, and I was treated with respect, courtesy, and the salesman was extremely knowledgeable. It was the most pleasant car purchase I have ever done. Everyone at the dealer was friendly, courteous, and positive. It was also an immaculate facility. Even the shop was so clean. I especially appreciated my salesman, Aaron Litton. I would highly recommend the dealership, the car, and the salesman to anyone thinking about purchasing a Hyundai.

Don't waste your time

I decided to buy a new car and had done quite a bit of research on the new Elantra. I had previously owned one and was fairly certain about the options I wanted. I went to St. Charles Automotive because the location was convient. The sales person who greeted me could barely put together a coherent sentence, he made cheesy inappropriate jokes, and he took several personal calls during our interaction. He tried all of the standard sales tactics (which of course required multiple consultations with his management each taking about 30 minutes) and when we didn't budge he brought his sales manager to us who then proceeded to literally make up monthly payment numbers without even checking whether they were feasible based on the price quoted. When we didn't buy his pitch the sales manager insulted my husband and I by stating that we were " clearly biting off more car than we could chew". Not once did either of [non-permissible content removed] even ask me what options were important to me. And then to top it all off when they were assessing my trade-in they actualy stole my title out of my glove compartment to force me to come back if they didn't make the sale. When I called later to retrieve it they claimed that I left it on the desk even though I never took it out of the car. Long story short I bought my car from Suntrup Hyundai instead and had a wonderful experience. I will never go back to St. Charles Automotive and if you dislike dishonest time consuming sales games I would highly reccommend you avoid them too.

Great Experience!

Had gone to another local dealership on a Friday to test drive and talk numbers. They were highly aggressive and it was a huge turn-off to dealing with a salesperson while sitting at a dealership, so I decided to give the email/telephone bargaining a try... and was successful. Ben at St. Charles was awesome; returned emails very quick, followed up on any questions I had via the phone, and was able to beat invoice on the 2012 Elantra I wanted and get the color right, too! (something the other dealership completely ignored, pushing only cars they already had on their lot) When I showed up to purchase the car, it was ready to go and absolutely nothing changed as far as prices went aka none of that salesperson crud some people complain about. I ended up having problems with Bank of America (my bank) who lied to me about the process of purchasing the vehicle with their financing. Craig in financing was awesome in getting me approved through St. Charles Auto's bank quick and at the same rate and slightly less in payments (Bank of America was charging $200 for processing; St. Charles added no additional charge for processing). After what ended up being an extended stay at the dealership that was only caused by my bank and was sped along as much as possible by the nice people at St. Charles, I drove away that night with my car. I've received a follow-up phone call and email from Ben, my salesperson, providing tons of contact information for servicing and wanting to know how I'm enjoying the car so far. Overall, what started as a horrible experience (I had to threaten the other dealership about making a scene in order to get my keys back after they looked at my car so I could leave), St. Charles Auto turned it all around and made it an enjoyable process. I hope to do business there again in another 9 years when I'm ready to purchase my next car.

Glad I considered them

When we decided to go with a 2010 Nissan Altima my wife and I searched many dealerships around both IL and MO. Saint Charles nissan gave us a very competitive price quote among all of these locations and provided a very pleasant buying experience. Our sales rep Joe was very honest and straightforward about the entire process and always returned our phone calls as soon as possible (one strength that many of the Chicago dealers failed to live up to). We got our own loan so I cant comment on the finance dept. although the gentleman was very easy going and seemed to be a nice person. There were no hidden fees or shady tricks that you hear about. They also worked to find the color and model we wanted at no extra charge. I would recommend you consider St. Charles nissan.

Horrible Sales Tactics!!!

My husband wanted to test drive a car they had listed on the internet. They kept our licenses to keep us from leaving. They had the car listed for $14999 on the internet but then wouldn't honor it! I had the print out of it. They kept us there for hours just grinding us down! Typical slimy sales people. My husband did like the car and wanted to buy it but they changed the price of the car on the paperwork to 17999! When we fought them on it they said, "It was a typo, we can't honor that". At one point they told us that our credit score was bad (its not!! 770!), so the price of the car was higher b/c of the bank!! What! I finally had to call the attorney general on them b/c they really were fudging the numbers on the paperwork and not honoring an advertised price. The attorney general said that they've had many complaints about this dealership and bad paperwork/lying to consumers! Well, needless to say, they gave us the 14999price b/c the AG threatened them! Buyer Beware!

So glad I found St. Charles Auto!

Before going to St. Charles Auto this afternoon, I went to two other dealers. I could not find the car I was looking for on the lot and no one came out to help me, so I left. I got a salesperson at the 2nd dealership who was extremely rude and did not want to help because I was not buying a new car. After my horrible experience at the 2nd place, I went to St. Charles Auto and talked to Andy, telling him exactly what kind of budget I had to spend without even looking at cars on the lot. He went outside in the freezing cold with me and went through every possible option he had for me to purchase. When I shared my interest in one car, he gave me the list price and immediately offered to cut it. They did offer an upsell to leasing a new car rather than purchasing a used one; however, they did not try to sway me at all when I said I was not comfortable with the leasing offer. Andy was also very patient and understanding when I hit a snafu with trying to get a copy of my insurance. Even though I only dealt with him very briefly, I also want to give props to Mike for making my financing go very smoothly. In the end, St. Charles Auto gave me a super deal on my car, and I couldn't be happier with my purchse!

Easiest New Car Purchase in My Life

This is a great place to buy a new Nissan. I bought my Nissan SUV this past week, and it was the easiest new car purchase of my life. Both the sales manager and salesperson were professional, low-pressure, and courteous. St. Charles Nissan didn't try to nickel-and-dime me with add-ons, and didn't play hardball over the price. I had done my research on price, and they respected that (I've been to other dealerships where they continually tell me my research is wrong, and Edmunds has incorrect numbers). I got a great price on my new SUV (well below invoice), they still made a little money off of my trade (extremely fair trade-in value, close to KBB) and dealer holdback, and we all walk away happy. I will definitely be going back to St. Charles Auto for my next new car purchase.

A very pleasant experience from start to finish. A low pressure friendly atmosphere where the staff is very easy-going and treats the customer with respect . The management in the sales dept. is top notch, and goes the extra mile. Even though they were very busy when I was there, I never had to wait very long for anything. I had stayed away from dealerships for years, and only bought from private parties, but they have renewed my faith in dealerships.

Horrible Experience!

We went to this dealership looking for a Santa Fe yesterday (Sept 20) and we wanted to see what kind of 'deal' we could get on the car we test drove. We were there for almost three hours!! We told them we couldnt afford their offer but we would think about it and get back to them today but they wouldnt let us leave! They held my drivers license to keep us waiting; had several different people come in to 'work' us over. My husband literally went in to their closed office to get my ID so we could leave. They followed us out of the building still badgering. It was horrible; I left with a bad taste in my mouth and would NOT recommend anyone to these tactics. It was degrading and stressful. We went to another dealer and was treated much better with no pressure; needless to say we purchased from that dealer!
