Service repair

I got my front brakes done and after a few weeks they were still pretty rough when I stopped. The dealer looked at and tested the brakes and it turned out the rotors were faulty. They fixed everything at no cost to me. I appreciate that they listen to me and honor their warranties. They have had the same service people for many years which tells me Ziegler is a good place to work for.

Less sneaky than other dealerships

Buying a car is never easy and personal budgets usually get thrown out the window when you add gap insurance, force you to get LoJack, full warranty etc. This place didn’t push the sale, however they did casually act like everything was the way it’s supposed to be. I do love the car so I’m glad I bought my 2019 Mercedes GLA250. Unfortunately I smacked it into a tree on a foggy/rainy day but I had a great autobody place that fixed even the plastic seat back that was out of place and couldn’t be manually put in when it was sold to me (but that’s a different review Herrick Auto in Crystal Lake). I’m also happy that Ziegler is confident in Mercedes parts and services, which I haven’t needed yet.

Bait and Switch and outright lies

Well, like most others here, I wish I had seen these ratings before blowing most of my day today in the lovely -6 degree weather. Called and talked to Karla about a vehicle on the website. She confirmed the price is EXACTLY what it was listed for plus tax, title, and admin fee. I specifically asked if there were ANY add ons or other fees involved. She, of course, said no. I, even told her if I showed up and there was a $500 "nitrogen" fill of my tires or a "$300 pinstripe", I would lose my mind. She assured me that would not be the case. Drove 1.5 hours and then the shenanigans began. "Sir that price listed is with all incentives applied and you only qualify for one". Baloney. The price listed on the website mentions NOTHING remotely indicating that. Then began the Lojack $2400 hard sell and of course a $2995 service contract of some kind. Then more made up [non-permissible content removed] about how the car has a deposit from someone WITH the Lojack, and if I could MEET that price we might be able to get to a "mutually beneficial" agreement. Yeah, that sounds like a great way to do business! My wife and I then walked out and will never return. I have had some great experiences with some dealers in the area, and some pretty bad ones. This is one of the worst I have had.

Attentive from the first step in the door, till you drive off with your new ride. Took a little longer than I expected but that is the only negative. Plenty of diversions to keep kids from getting bored. They had cars in stock whereas other dealers were waiting for theirs to get delivered. Would definitely buy from them again as well as recommended them to others.

Bait & Switch

This dealership had the audacity to mandate an optional $4800 add-on package and originally would not sell me the vehicle unless i paid for it. They also told me that my interest rate was not solely contingent on my credit score, but it would only be lowered if I purchased an additional $3500 warranty package. This dealership had conflicting narratives and would tell me one thing up front, and as soon as it was time to start paperwork, they would tell me something completely different. There were many bait and switch tactics used to attempt to sell me a vehicle, and I spoke with another customer in the dealership who also experienced the same. Many of their alleged policies & promises are not in writing. Their finance team is not to be trusted. And neither is their social media/customer relations manager The day after i left, their social Media/Customer Relations Manager attempted to rectify the situation and asked if I would still be interested in the vehicle if they could offer me either a better deal on the car or a better interest rate. She calls back a few minutes later and attempts to sell me the car for over $4000 more than it was the day before. Since i refused to purchase the $4800 package, they increased the price of the vehicle overnight, attempted to sell it to me at a higher price, and then she tells me that it was a good deal. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALERSHIP.

His patience and thoroughness of going over my new vehicle purchase of a 2024 Chevrolet Trax was outstanding. Chuck was extremely professional with one on one personal interaction, that made me feel like I was buying from a friend. Awesome salesman! Thank you!

Ted helped me immensely as a first-time car buyer. I came in with both my parents looking for a car for me and Ted saved us time looking through the entire lot for something that will fit my budget. He thoroughly explained and broke down everything to me. He was very sweet and fatherly-like to me, he even taught me how to reverse park! 🤣 Overall, I really appreciate Ted for all the extra help and time. Definitely made my day!

This is the second vehicle I bought here at Zeigler Chevy (both with Jason!). Jason does exactly what he says... Takes care of business without wasting my time or his. More importantly - although I am flexible as to "what kind of car" I wanted, I had a specific body style that I wanted. Jason helped get me exactly what I wanted! I'll be back again when I'm ready for my next update. Jason is a rockstar!!

Came for $22k car. They wanted $31k with fees and add one. Three hours negotiation and got the $22k. I would say that’s a win. Our sales guy Tony Horton, bless his heart, worked hard to get us to where we wanted to be. Happy new car owners👍

Dislikes: -The first offer they presented me had a $2000.00 area adjustment fee on top of the internet listed price.- I should have left then!! - I wanted to pay the balance by check in two days after transferring some money and pick up the car then as I wasn't expecting to make a purchase that evening. Instead they pressured me to finance the balance. The terms were not favorable for someone with my credit rating and were really poorly explained by the finance manager. I was OK with it because I knew I could pay it off, however, It was an inconvenience for me and I ended up having to pay a small amount of interest. Based on these actions it is my opinion that this dealership could take advantage of people who do not know any better or who are just new to the car buying experience. Likes: I am happy with the vehicle and everything seems OK with it so far.

Don’t buy unless you want to be robbed

I purchased this car in February. The finance person charge me an additional $2500 in fees which I had to go back and have removed. Which I never saw credited to my car loan. About three weeks later, the car started having problems. I took it in to have them look at it since I just purchased it and they told me that I no longer had a certified preowned vehicle or the extended warranty option that I purchased, which all are still on my car loan that I’m paying it has become a huge hassle. I had to pay for a rental car while they had my car they seem to just lie to benefit them self. I would never recommend this dealership to any of my family or friends.

We had chuck as our salesman . What I like about this place is after test driving a car they walk away and let you talk to each other. We got a fair price on our trade in that we were happy with. They were all very nice and friendly.
