Here's something that happens infrequently in the auto industry: Audi made its flagship luxury sedan cheaper for 2022. And not by an insignificant sum. The restyled 2022 S8 now retails for about a $16,000 discount over the 2021 model when new. For that amount you get updated exterior looks, the same powerful V8 engine and a similarly deluxe cabin. So what gives? Well, the S8 now includes fewer standard features than it did previously. It's an interesting strategy, to say the least.

The end result, however, is a luxury sport sedan with remarkable gusto for its price point. The S8 packs 563 horsepower, quite a bit more than the equivalently priced Mercedes or BMW competitor. If it's max muscle you want, this four-door performance car fits the bill. The S8 is also renowned for its sporty ride quality, with handling aided by a standard all-wheel steering system for cornering precision and high-speed stability. It also has an opulent interior, now offering an optional rear comfort package for passengers seeking true relaxation in the back. The S8 is a stately sedan with its share of attitude.

A scientific marvel! At first it seemed so much larger and technologically intimidating than my previous gen S8 I felt dwarfed. However after a few days becoming acclimated we bonded. Whether driving, or being driven in one of the safest, most comfortable automobiles on the road you are completely insulated. I've owned/own numerous exotics and performance sedans. This car is a bargain.
