Buyers Beware
by Michael Askew on 11/05/2021Bought a new car in July, three months later have not received title or plates. That's three payments for a car that isn't legally drivable. Not only have they not returned phone calls and not followed up on what they've said they would… do, but the most they could do has been sending a number of things that are meaningless to a car buyer as excuses for the hold-up. Some of the classics: "We'll just issue you new temp tags" and then many unreturned phone calls and several days later "she's not here." "Whoops, someone here (way to take ownership) mailed stuff to the wrong address and didn't find out for a month but here's a FedEx label that shows we sent it yesterday (after you called) so it's being taken care of (it hasn't been)." "Oh, here's a cameraphone shot of a spreadsheet that says we paid our middleman (great, now I'm an expert in how the sausage gets made), we sent them a new bar code (after you called), so it's being taken care of (anyone's guess here if it is?)" Bottom line: they've missed every opportunity to make this right.
